WHAT WE DO AT BUFF® REUSE It is the action or practice of using something again, whether for its original purpose (conventional reuse) or to fulfil a different function.

RAW MATERIALS

Our gear is never worn once and then thrown out, and the materials used to make our gear should be no different. That’s why we partnered with Repreve® to develop a cool new recycled polyester fabric for our CoolNet UV+ products - they are made from clear plastic bottles that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. The result is performance you can feel good about. Facts: • 2 Million plastic bottles reused for Spring Summer 2019 Collections.

In our quest to make less of an impact, we promote a circular economy—by recycling old materials into new clothing, we give waste a second life rather than a lifetime taking up space in a landfill.

It is the process of contributing to preserve the environment through education and practices to generate as less residues as possible.

We have to reduce our overall use of the planet’s natural resources, like water and energy. That’s why we train our staff on the best ways to do so, and actively seek out like-minded suppliers (who have the environmental certifications to back it up). To prove our dedication, we adhere to ISO 14001, which is tech-speak for meeting all the requirements for environmental auditing, performance, labeling, and lifecycle assessments.

It is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects.

Anything we can’t reuse in our own products, we figure out a way to repurpose in some cool way. From the paper we recycle in our design process that becomes a newspaper all the way down to leftover textiles that we send out to be upcycled into carpeting for cars. Basically, if we can give something a second life, we’re sure as heck going to do it. Facts: • 19 Tones of textile recycled in 2018 • 85 Tones of cardboard recycled in 2018 • 107 Tones of paper recycled in 2018
