D-DAY
2017-2018
“Snowboarding is living in a time desperate for some quality change. I have been fortunate enough to live and ride with the early greats of our sport and feel lucky to have a couple of the best mountains in the world to call home. D-Day has been born from this lifestyle and the desire to pass it on is the fuel in our actions, from this experience and knowledge you can see the difference and will certainly enjoy the feel of the D-Day line. -Chris Roach

D-DAYVE
We all remember years when 4-foot storms were a common occurrence. Winters where it seemed like it was just powder day after powder day. In the past decade something has changed. It doesn’t matter what corner of the world you live in but things are just not the same. Less snow is falling and in some unlucky regions a winter will go by where they don’t even get enough to open up local resorts. They are tying this all back to how we treat the planet and at D-Day we are not taking any chances. We are committed to doing what we can to make sure our board factory is as environmentally friendly as possible. D-Day uses No V.O.C. (volatile organic compounds) epoxy. We use sintered sidewalls which is toxin free compared to the traditional abs. Our direct digital printing process uses UV cured inks instead of sol- vent based inks and our clear coat process is also UV cured free of solvents that harm the environment. We are proud to use a sustainable wood supplier that replants! The way we look at it is like this; if there is anything we can do on our end that might help strengthen our winters. We are down! If we can make a product that is better for the environment then other board companies we are all for it! Our crew is in snowboarding for the long haul so anything that’s going to potentially give us more pow day’s. Sounds like a good way to operate
Construction NotesProcess- all boards are pressed under heat then cooled in press for a flatter base and truer camber peofile Fiberglass- A super lightweight triax with ultra high thread count offers more pop going from tip to tail where other basic triax’s are only stiff torsionally (twisting) Sidewalls- all sintered PTex offers a smooth ride while being non-toxic and stronger so less of a chance these bad boys will crack on you. Bases- we believe in quality and to back it up we only offer the best. Ptex4000 is as good as it gets and it’s all we use. Unless you grab one of our models with a black base! These models use Ptex 4000 Electra that is known for its speed. Both bases are known for their ability’s to absorb more wax but still be harder then typical sintered bases. Rubber- 3 Layers of rubber are used in our construction process, over the edge and then below and above the sidewall. This not only helps eliminate chatter but also helps with impact! Epoxy- No VOC (volatile organic compounds( i.e. solvents)) are in the epoxy, which is better for the environment! Added elastomers (rubber) at the microscopic level smooth’s out the ride and doesn’t break down so pop and camber last longer. CoresPowder Twin/Ranquet/Roach: Paulownia and Poplar with carbon strips between the laminates with horizontal 45-degree grain going from side to side with poplar/paulownia in the binding area. Translation is Great grip under foot and super lightweight. Our factory is extremely proud of the craftsmanship of this core and after riding it you will know why! Panda and Death Card: Nearly all paulownia with poplar in some key strength areas for a superlight/poppy ride All other models: Half paulownia/poplar with 6 bamboo stringers. Bamboo is known for it’s supreme pop and ability to snap back making it resil- ient giving you a core that does not mash out. Sidecuts: All are multi radii for better grip and smoother ride!
