Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.

Fibreglass is used in two different formats to aid the compressional strength of the core and ensure long-lasting pop.

SAN DWI C H Used on most of our skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.

BI -A X IA L CA R BO N -F IBR E PAU LOW N I A Paulownia is a very light hardwood that is stable and easy to machine. Cores made with this material are lighter than Balsa/Flax cores, but are more expensive and require a lamination layer such as carbon-fibre to improve responsiveness.

CA R B O N R E IN F O RC E M E N T Used on the Candide 1.0 & 2.0, the carbon layer is used to provide additional strength to the core against use on rails.

BA LSA D25 0 Balsa is an exceptionally light hardwood. Laminated vertically together divided by strips of woven flax (also known as linseed), to provide additional torsional and compression strength.

Carbon-fibre is used on our lightweight Escape series skis to re-inforce the core and increase edge-hold, responsiveness and rebound.

Unibody construction is slightly less expensive per ski, but complicated to setup. Still using wood cores, the cap technique removes the sidewall to save weight and materials. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.

Titanal has the same properties in all directions and excellent dampening properties. Our skis with Titanal have excellent torsional strength and responsiveness.

In continuing our efforts to improve chip-resistance in our skis, we’ve incorporated a ‘micro’ cap where the topsheet meets the sidewall on our sandwich construction skis. Available on most models.

Used on our Agent & Candide Thovex series, titanal plates secure the binding screws. The one-piece design fits most touring bindings with centre screws.

Used on 99% of our skis, the 1.8mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.

2. 5MM E D GE S Used on the Candide 1.0, the 2.5mm edges are stronger than the 1.8, but are slightly heavier.

G LO SS I CP 8 210 TO P SHEET Thicker and harder than our 14/15 topsheets, ICP8210 has a natural high-gloss finish which avoids the need for lacquer and helps the ski look better for longer. Better for the workers in the factory and better for the environment. A small but highly impactful change.

M AT T E I C P 8 210 TO P SHEET Matte ICP8210 topsheets require no lacquering saving around 100gm / pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.

Borrowed from world-cup race skis, two different radii on the one ski - a tighter radius forward of the boot center coupled with a 20% larger sidecut behind - lets us increase the edge-to-edge responsiveness so you can carve short turns whilst retaining high speed stability and control through the tail of the ski.

Full length traditional camber gives control and stability on-piste.

TI P ROC K E R Tip rocker and either traditional or flat camber underfoot aids float off-piste yet retains feel on-piste.

M U LTI-R A D IU S S ID E C U TS On our skis with multi-sidecut we’ve taken the dual-sidecut concept a step further. Instead of going directly from sidecut to taper we use multiple sidecuts to straighten out the ski before the taper. This creates a fluid ride with smooth transitions from carve to slide.

TI P & TAI L ROC K E R Tip & tail rocker with varying amounts of camber underfoot gives maximum versatility and float off-piste.

Droppin’ in hot, the Foundation Series’ Idiom is a versatile park ski for every rider. With a strong poplar/beech core, durable cap construction, 86mm waist and 5mm of camber, dial in your style whether you’re an amateur or aficionado.

From Japan grabs to the piste, the Idiom Jr. allows young riders to progress all over the mountain with a 78mm waist and 5mm of camber underfoot. Cap construction and a flywood core provide durability and stability, so you’ll soon be chasing them down the hill.

The preferred ski of urban slayer Tim McChesney, the updated Candide 1.0 features a new, smoother camberline and poplar/beech core for better on-snow feel. A carbon reinforcement layer underfoot, micro-cap construction and extra thick 2.5mm edges add to durability when cruising concrete, whilst sandwich construction, a 90mm waist, 5mm of camber and rockered tip and tail make the ski more versatile than ever.

For all the young rippers out there who throw down harder than the rest of us, the Candide 1.0 Jr. was built for you. Using the same technologies as our adult skis, such as sandwich construction, micro-cap protection and a poplar/ash core, we’ve created a stable, durable ski that will outlast even them. Our Standard fit is found in both collections with our lab series using it exclusively. Our lightweight insulations and layering pieces also fit into these guidelines as the Standard–Layer fit.

Our Progressive fit is slightly longer in the body, straighter in the waist with straighter hems, rather than the traditional elliptical shape. We have also added a few style specific progressive fits that deserve their own tagline – such as the Shackleton, which has a progressive skinny fit, a very modern fit that is far slimmer than the rest of the line, but continues to work as a result of the expandable cuff to accommodate ski boots.

Used on the majority of our range, our Standard fit features extended collars for warmth, generous sleeve length a comfortable tailored body with a shaped waist – modern and roomy, without being baggy. Our Standard fit is found in both collections with our lab series using it exclusively. Our lightweight insulations and layering pieces also fit into these guidelines as the Standard–Layer fit.

Our Progressive fit varies a little more in our women’s line, and becomes more style specific, with a nod to more fashion forward fits. For example, the Popova Pullover, features a funnel neck collar and hood with a modern A- Frame shaped body. Other progressive fits include our Bly Pant, which features a very skinny fit, with expandable cuffs to accommodate ski boots.
