THE BIRTH OF GRASSROOTS POWDERSURFING Grassroots Powdersurfing is the brain-child of Jeremy Jensen, who has invested over 16 years into developing a form of powder riding that is completely binding-free. Borrowing technology and inspiration from snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing, We worked to create the ultimate binding less powder tool. We created a product and a form of riding that returns us to the roots of snowboarding, while making a leap forward in avenues of progression that had yet to be explored. This form of self-expression pays tribute to the original intentions of snowboarding 's early pioneers (to surf mountains) while embracing the progression of modern surfing and skateboarding . We wanted to give something back to the world of board sports that has given us so much over the years. Jeremy founded Grassroots Powdersurfing Company in 2007 and has worked tirelessly ever since to show the world the beauty and soul of powsurfing. Starting with only $200 and scrap wood from his garage, he planted the Grassroots seed and nurtured it with hard work, skill and dedication. It wasn't easy to design, build and market a product that nobody had ever heard of, especially while attending grad school full time and working another full time "real job " to support his family. Jeremy has spent what little extra time he had building powsurfers and making films that showcase these boards in action; working to educate, inform, and share powsurfing with the world. After 8 years of hard work and personal dedication, powsurfing is making a significant mark on snow riding culture and riders all over the world are discovering how it feels to truly surf the snow.

POWDERSURFING: A NEW MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE Something incredible happens when you remove that fixed connection to the board from the equation. The perception you've grown accustomed to while snowboarding is altered immensely. Small hills become large, big mountains become huge. You begin to notice details in your environment that never peaked your interest before. The world's largest playground that we call "the backcountry" suddenly becomes even bigger. Powdersurfing offers a whole new way of viewing and interacting with the terrain in front of you. You can choose to experience the most surf-like style of riding imaginable as you ride the frozen waves; smacking lips and laying down deep bottom turns while floating atop the deepest and lightest powder. You can visualize your environment as the largest skatepark on earth; taking full advantage of the fact that there is no connection to your board and pursuing a true skate-style of riding. Snapping ollies, bomb dropping, or spinning and flipping the board under your feet. You can choose the snowboard-style approach; dropping cliffs, punching chutes , and launching airs just as you did when you were strapped in , but now with greater challenge and deeper sense of satisfaction. The avenues of self expression are limitless and there is a whole new world to explore. Whether you are riding deep in the backcountry or just outside your back door, powdersurfing offers a challenge that can make even the most simple terrain fun again. Welcome to Powdersurfing' You have discovered the fountain of youth.

Introducing Grassroots Powdersurfing's

CDC 3-Dimensional Base Our CDC 3-D Base technology takes, performance, directional control and board feel to the next level. We have been working hard to properly incorporate theory and technology used in surfing into base designed for snow, to give our boards even more control, floatation, speed, and character. After years of experimenting and refining this design on wood based prototypes our CDC 3D base is now available in our high quality ptex base, providing the fastest glide and superior durability that you have come to expect from Grassroots. With our CDC 3-D base, a convex spoon nose gradually transitions into a double concave waist and tail. This design lightly displaces snow across the nose of the board and channels it through the waist and tail of the board, increasing float, speed and precision control. Our design increases the bite of the rail and the leverage in your turns so you can cut sharper and lay into your turns even farther. The board becomes even more responsive to the subtle movements of the rider. Benefits from this design shine across all types of snow including packed snow, and shallow or variable snow conditions. AVAILABLE ON SELECT DIRECTIONAL MODELS ONLY** **OUR CDC technology is designed specifically for a directional ride. For consistent and solid riding both forward and backwards we highly recommend tour flat base option.

Freeriding has never been so free

POWDER SKATE TWIN 140cm and 120cm Designed for the rider who's looking for a floaty and surfy ride and feel while having the freedom to fully explore skate-style riding. Consistent forward or backward riding opens up possibility for shuvits, 180's and any type of flip and spin you desire. Extremely agile and planes out amazingly well in deep powder. Ideal for powder conditions from 6 inches all the way up to 3 feet. Available in 140cm or 120cm lengths and 2 different widths to suit riders of nearly all ages and to perform well in more shallow powder conditions *Available with Ptex Base or Wood Base.

SLASHER 140cm and 120cm The Slasher is a great board for entry level powsurfers. Easy to learn on, and forgiving in variable and shallow powder conditions. Tapered for directional riding but still allows for backwards riding. Very agile ride allowing for tight turns in trees and technical terrain. Available in 140cm or 120cm lengths and 2 different widths to suit riders with smaller feet and/or riding in shallow powder conditions. *Available with Ptex Base or Wood Base.

POWDER SLUT 140cm One of our best selling all around shapes designed to handle a variety of conditions. The Slut offers a loose and surfy ride and feel. Excellent flotation and control and it's a great directional hybrid that can still be ridden backwards easily. While not as forgiving as the Slasher or Barracuda in variablte snow, the incredible feel of this board when the conditions are 6" or deeper will have you begging for more. *Available with Ptex Base or Wood Base. **Available in our traditional base or our CDC 3-Di-

mensional base.

BARRACUDA 140cm Long drawn-out nose keeps this powsurfer afloat nicely while the short radius sidecut gives it tight turning ability and a very forgiving ride in variable conditions and shallow settled pow. Great for weaving tight trees, ripping steep lines, and navigating technical terrain. Works well in coastal powder, low or high density powder, and in less than favorable conditions. **Available in our traditional base or our CDC 3-Dimensional base. Freeri din g has never been so free

GRASSROOTS POWDERSURFING

Shark Series

MEGALODON 150cm One of the biggest powder guns in our line. 150cm length, low profile rise in the nose/tail and flared tail provide excellent float and a very snowboard-like feel. Great for bigger riders and ideal for deep snow in wide open terrain. Very stable at high speed and slower turning edge to edge than most of the boards in our line. Fast and floaty in even the most mellow slopes. Designed for riding in 10" or deeper conditions.

**Available with flat base and our CDC 3-Dimensional Base.

GREAT WHITE 140cm

POWDER SHARK 140cm Great board for riders looking for more of a snowboard-like feel. Deep swallow tail makes for stable turns at high speeds and slower edge to edge turning. Great for wide open terrain. www .powsurf. com

The most surfy feel in the "Shark Line", the Great White floats and planes out beautifully. Loose and agile ride much like the Powder Slut but with a little extra bite from the crescent tail.

**Available with flat base and our CDC 3-Dimensional Base.

BIG PHISH 150cm This is the biggest powder gun in our line. Extra wide waist, low profile nose/tail and 150cm length give this board unmatched float in the deepest conditions you can find. Surfy ride and feel with solid stability at high speeds. Great for bigger riders or anyone chasing the deepest lines on earth. Fast and floaty in even the most mellow hills. Designed for riding in powder that is 10" or deeper. **The Big Phish is available exclusively in our CDC 3-Dimensional Base.

PHISH ROUND TAIL 140 Excellent planing ability and float in deep powder give this board it's speed and character. Round tail for agility and quick turning edge to edge. The wide point of the waist is located directly under your stance so this board rides very fast and planes out easily.

PHISH SWALLOW TAIL 140cm Amazing float with a wonderfully surf-like feel. Stable at high speeds in open bowls yet still plenty agile for weaving trees and technical terrain. The Phish is designed for powder depths from 7" to 3 feet. Despite it's directional look, the flat base model of this powsurfer actually rides really well backwards as a pin tail. **Available in flat base and our CDC 3-Dimensional base. Freeri din g has never been so free

GRASSROOTS POWDERSURFING

SPLIT-SURF After 7 years of playing on our own personal split-surfers we decided it was time to offer them to the public. We've added inserts for the touring brackets and reinforced the board with extra glass for added strength and stiffness in touring and surfing mode. The Grassroots Split-surf comes with it's own special binding system for touring that releases quickly and easily with the pull of a pin and packs nicely into your backpack for your binding-free descent. Ptex base for a great glide, durability, and proper skin lifespan. The split hardware and reinforcements in the board construction brings the total weight to 12 lbs, lighter than most splitboard setups.

BUILD YOUR QUIVER AROUND YOUR STYLE The varieties of snow conditions and terrain are as diverse as every riders' vision and style of self-expression. This is why we design so many shapes, sizes and styles. We make powsurfers to handle every rideable condition and terrain under the sun and to fuel the progression of a variety of different riding styles. Some prefer a loose and floaty feel, while others want to cut sharp snowboard-like turns. Many riders live in densly forrested or highly technical terrain and prefer a very agile board to navigate that terrain. Others ride the wide open bowls of the alpine and prefer a slower turning ride. Some areas get burried in light and dry snow, while others get dense and heavy snow, wind affected snow, or very little snow at all. We design boards specifically to excel I in each of these conditions. Whether you want to cruise the mountain with a surf style, charge the mountain snowboard-style, turn the backcountry into the world's largest skatepark, or create your own hybrid of it all; we've got the perfect tools to help you make that happen. Any experienced surfer or snowboarder can testify to the power of a quiver. Powsurfing and binding-free riding are very much quiver dependent for the best possible experience. We are happy to help you pick the best board for you and your terrain and assist you in building a quiver that will help you get the most out of every day that you paddle out into the backcountry. With over a decade of experience shaping and refining powsurfers, we know this game better than anyone.
