From the very beginning we have always tried to be as environmentally conscious as possible with our work environment and the materials and processes we use. Nearly Canadian Kraftsmen need a healthy work and play environment so they can achieve maximum shred. • ENVIRO GRAPHICS: We DON’T use any cancer-causing toxic automotive lacquer clear coats.

Cancer can result in death! You don’t have to support companies that use toxic printing systems. Mervin uses an environmentally friendly water-based ink sublimation graphics system to print all our snowboard graphics!

• HEALTHIER RESIN: We use only low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy resin systems.

Scrap wood is donated as kindling. All our tape, paper, cardboard and scrap base material, gets collected and recycled into new materials.

We use fast growing farmed eco woodcores!

SIZE DOESN’T MATTER! Mervin does not waste odd sized wood. Using our finger joiner, Mervin is able to use normally unusable “cut off end” wood core pieces. The wood is actually stronger at the joint than regular wood. The result is that almost no wood is wasted and the boards are stronger and have more pop.

Mervin uses an environmentally friendly water-based ink sublimation graphics system to print all our snowboard graphics! (As opposed to the majority of the snowboard industry, which uses toxic solvent-based silkscreen inks with thick solvent-based gloss curtain coats on top... the process of building boards that way is very toxic for both the environment and people working in the factory, and because of the toxic inks, other companies’ scrap plastics are not recyclable.)

• CLEAN AIR: We use water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels. Pets are encouraged to stay out of the grinding areas.

• HEALTHIER FIBER: Our basalt fiber is additive-free & less toxic than conventional fiberglass. • RECYCLED WOOD: Our wood sawdust is recycled as a soil additive and scrap wood is donated as kindling. • RECYCLED PLASTICS: We recycle all our scrap plastics (base cutouts, etc.)! • ECO WOOD: We use only renewable forest products for our cores. Columbian Gold is FSC “pure” certified. Fast growing trees have long fibers & natural pop. Wood is nature’s fiberglass!

• BIO SIDEWALLS: We use soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic ABS. And: we use recycled content sidewall material. Reusing bailed plastics, completes the loop of recycling process.

• BIO TOP SHEETS: We use non-petroleum based bio-plastics made from castor beans. Beans are a magical fruit!

My name is Matt Biolos… People call me “Mayhem”. I am Southern California, born and raised. I started making surfboards, in San Clemente, 1987. In 1991 I co-founded the brand …Lost, and since that time I have trav-

eled the world, shaping, surfing and designing surfboards until …Lost Surfboards became one of the most popular board labels on the planet. We are known for working with the best athletes in the surfing world, being a leader in design, having a lot of fun and also being open minded in working with new technologies and constructions that come our way. Since I first saw LIB-Techs Eco-Iso construction, I wanted to build a board with it. The weight to strength ratio, eco minded materials and techniques, and the fact that some thing this tech was being done in the USA was incredibly interesting to me. I am stoked that that time has finally come and hope people enjoy riding them as we have enjoyed building them. Having grown up in the 1980’s Southern California surf and skate culture, I was fortunate to stumble upon snowboarding in its early years. In fact, although a surfboard shaper and designer by trade, I have actually been snowboarding longer than surfing. My friends and I lived a short drive from Mt. Baldy, and in the fall of 1982, at age 13, we built our own garage snowboards. Based on boards we saw in Action Now magazine. We would take turns driving up Mountain Ave, and ride our crude boards down the sides of the hill. Although I soon moved on to surfing (and then to the beach and the surfboard business) snowboarding has remained my consistent passion for over 30 years. My entire family Snowboards or skis and we spend weeks at a time in the mountains every year. I always tell people “ I will drive 6 hours for powder, before driving an hour for waves. When the opportunity came to work with LIB TECH and design some snowboards, it was like a dream come true. Full circle to where my boarding passion began. For it to be LIB, of all the snowboard brands is even better. Our roots together run deep. In 1991, while on a Ca surf trip, a teenage Jamie Lynn walked into our surf shop in San Clemente. Upon meeting we learned he was a young Pro snowboarder and we made a plan to swap a couple of surfboards for snowboards. That winter he got his first “Mayhem” surfboards, and I received, and rode, a pair of LIB tech “Matt Cummins” and “Emma Peel” snowboards. Jamie didn’t even have his own model yet. Over the next few years we continued to swap boards, and since those days I have ridden hundreds of LIB TECH boards and couldn’t imagine a better partner to collaborate on with these two projects.

The more the body creates heat, the more moisture the membrane can transport outwards creating its own unique adaptable micro-climate. (More output = Increased breathability) NO PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) & NO PFC (perfluorochemicals) – Highly toxic extremely persistent group of chemicals most commonly used in Teflon, Stainmaster, Scotchguard, etc. PFC’s now thoroughly contaminate our air, water, and bloodstreams. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 – An independent testing and certification system for harmful substances.
