POC has never launched as many new strategically important, innovative, game changing, user relevant and optimized products, ever before. With our mission of doing the best we can to possibly save lives and to reduce the consequences of accidents for gravity sports athletes and cyclists, we have taken our quest a big step further by launching the new race helmet Orbic series, which manages previously unknown risks and violence discovered in our cross-scientific research, changing the game in the category. There is a new VPD 2.0 back protector, Spine VPD 2.0 Back, dramatically exceeding the demands and certifications needed. As well as offering the highest level of protection, it is extremely light, supple and comfortable. On the goggles side there are three new models: the patent pending and award winning Lid, the new giant Retina Big and the Iris Stripe. Optical quality, versatility and performance are enhanced by a number of new lenses combining new technological findings such as partial polarization, hydrophobic and photochromic treatments, syntax mirroring and new materials. The Fornix helmet now has a sibling equipped with the anti-rotational MIPS system, Fornix Backcountry MIPS. There is also a new line of backpacks with integrated back protection as well as a long-term co-lab with Beats by Dr. Dre 速, promoting audio and communication with helmets. Different helmet concepts for several different needs, optimizing safety and performance Aramid in-mold helmets An in-mold helmet construction is very lightweight, but lacks penetration resistance due to the thin shell. By molding a sheet of aramid to the core, the low weight is maintained while the protection is radically improved. This is called Aramid Penetration Barrier. Aramid bridges By molding aramid bridges to the core of the helmet, the impact forces are spread over a larger surface. At the same time the helmet gains structural stability through the bonding of the unbreakable aramid weave and the EPS liner, which allows for a very lightweight and well-ventilated helmet. Carbon Fiber helmets By using a ductile matrix as a carrier for the fiber, POC’s carbon fiber shell defies the problems of excessive stiffness and thickness that the industrial carbon fiber poses. The resulting super-thin and lightweight shell is a feature of the Super Skull Comp. Double Shell POC’s patented VDSAP system (Ventilated Double Shell Anti-Penetration) is built on two ventilated shells that are placed offset for maximum protection against penetration from sharp

objects, while maintaining good airflow and ventilation. The safety performance of this construction is amazing and represents a unique take on helmet design. Super-ventilated helmets By studying the airflow inside the helmets, POC has been able to create super ventilated helmets with adjustable and optimized ventilation depending on the conditions. The combination of goggle vents, chimney vents, VDSAP and adjustable vents makes the helmets very ventilated, with a maintained low weight and a high level of protection. Multi-Impact helmets Most helmets today have liners made of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), a great shock absorbing material, but it will be permanently compressed when absorbing an impact, even a minor one. Using multi-impact EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) as core material creates a helmet that will protect your head over and over again. (All Skull helmets, Cortex DH, Receptor +, Receptor Backcountry) Multi-Impact Deflector Panels Through examining helmets used by World Cup alpine racers,

we identified that they were worn out in the front caused by repeated impacts from the gates. The violence was more severe than we had ever imagined and the discovery led us to developing the Multi-Impact Deflector Panels, featured in the new line of Skull Orbic helmets. Our deflector panels decrease the transmitted force of the impact, and increase the shock absorbing capacity of the helmets. This ensures that the helmet performance remains at the highest level when it’s really needed: in a real crash. In the deflector panel of the Skull Orbic Comp, we integrated our patented VPD 2.0 that has extreme impact absorbing properties, proven very efficient for repeated impacts in our body armor collection. The Skull Orbic X deflector panel is made of multi-impact EPP material. MIPS MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, and is used to reduce the rotational forces to the brain in the case of an oblique impact. A normal helmet is created to absorb impacts by compression very efficiently, but is not as good at the rotational forces. When subjected to an oblique impact, the MIPS system absorbs these forces by allowing a small rotation of the outer shell relative to the liner.

Skull Orbic Comp - the game changer The season 2013/2014 sees the launch of the Skull Orbic Comp, our new race helmet. Years of testing, experience and our alarming findings of the actual forces the brain is exposed to during giant slalom racing combined with the new, stricter FIS rules, forced us to bring helmet performance to a previously unseen level. Through examining helmets used by World Cup alpine racers, we identified that they were worn out in the front caused by repeated impacts from the gates. Lab testing revealed repeated impacts and forces as high as 70 G, equal to the force of two american football players colliding helmet to helmet at full speed. We were struck by the results and immediately realized that we had to reinvent ski racing helmets in order to keep alpine racers safe. With our mission, to do everything we can to possibly save lives and to reduce consequences of accidents, we started working

on a solution. Along with leading sports science centers, we developed customized lab-testing methods and found new innovative materials and techniques, ultimately resulting in the POC Skull Orbic Comp. By using innovative new materials and techniques, the Skull Orbic Comp brings helmet performance to a previously unseen level. Skull Orbic Comp has a patent pending deflector panel with VPD 2.0 in the front, which allows gates to be deflected with minimal energy absorption to the head, and at the same time protecting the core of the helmet. The VPD, combined with the multi-impact EPP, decreases the transmitted energy from hitting the gates by as much as 50% compared to existing race helmets. Skull Orbic Comp is a further development of our superior race helmets Skull Comp and Skull Comp DH, and meets the new requirements (RH2013) from the International Ski Federation, FIS.

The award winning Skull Orbic Comp is engineered with a new approach to protection and meets the demands that come with higher speeds, more violent impacts and the repetitive violence caused by hitting gates. It is also approved according to the new FIS RH2013 rules. Skull Comp Orbic has a layer of POCs patented VPD 2.0 material in the front area. VPD has extreme impact absorption properties and is proven very effective for repeated impacts in POC’s body armor collection. This increases protection not only for the head, but also for the helmet structure, by minimizing helmet fatigue due to repeated impacts. The Skull Orbic Comp is equipped with a multi-impact EPP liner, perfectly integrated with the VPD layer in the advanced injected outer shell.

Skull Orbic X has a high performance PC/ABS shell with characteristic zones in the front where the liner is thicker to provide extra protection where gates hit the helmet when racing. The liner is made of multi-impact EPP for best performance over time. Skull Orbic X is approved for the new FIS rules (RH2013).

Super Skull Comp is POC’s Carbon fiber race helmet. Carbon fiber has many advantageous properties such as high resistance and low weight, but its excessive stiffness can counteract the desired performance of a helmet. By using a ductile matrix, POC has overcome these difficulties, and the unique carbon fiber laminate shell has been added to POC’s Skull Comp 2.0 helmet to create the Super Skull Comp. The Aramid Penetration Barrier and the EPP liner with Supracor™ honeycomb provide multi-impact protection and progressive energy absorption.

Skull Comp 2.0 is a performance race helmet, developed with a semi-hard shell in order to improve penetration resistance and shock absorption. The Aramid Penetration Barrier strengthens and protects while the multi-impact EPP liner with the inserted pneumatic Supracor™-layer is optimized to provide progressive energy absorption. The helmet comes with two different linings for size adjustment.

POC’s Skull X race helmet features penetration proof ventilation and a multi-impact EPP liner to withstand repetitive shocks. The helmet has tapered shell for resistance and protection and the ear chambers are designed for less effect on balance and hearing. Skull X makes an excellent race helmet for junior ski racers.

Sinuse SL is based on POC’s award winning Receptor concept and includes a detachable and adjustable chin bar that makes it suitable for slalom skiing. Fornix is generously ventilated and the size adjustment system makes it possible to customize the fit of the helmet to ensure it stays safe and comfortable in place.

Skull Light is developed from POC’s race helmets and has the same semi-hard shell technology and EPP liner for multi-impact performance. The soft, detachable ear pads and the low weight make Skull Light an optimal helmet for all mountain use.

Skull Light WO is a women’s specific version of the Skull Light adopted to the typical female anatomy. The lightweight helmet is developed from POC’s race helmets and uses a semi-hard shell technology and EPP liner for multi-impact performance. The soft, detachable ear pads and the low weight make Skull Light an optimal helmet for all mountain use. The size adjustment system makes it possible to customize the fit of the helmet to ensure it stays safe and comfortable in place.

Skull Light II is equipped with a size adjustment system, making the lightweight helmet suitable for even more users. The helmet is developed from POC’s race helmets and uses a semi-hard shell technology and EPP liner for multi-impact performance. The size adjustment system makes it possible to customize the fit of the helmet to ensure it stays safe and comfortable in place. The soft, detachable ear pads and the low weight make Skull Light a great helmet for all mountain use.

POC’s Synapsis 2.0 combines low weight with a high level of protection. The Aramid Penetration Barrier is in-molded between the thin shell and the EPS liner to reinforce the structure, disperse forces and provide penetration resistance, which is what allows such a lightweight helmet to surpass both European and US standards. The turn-ring adjustment system provides a snug and comfortable fit. Detachable visor is included.

POCito Skull Light

The Cortex DH is a lightweight full face helmet that has an advanced carbon shell wrapped over POC’s patent pending aramid reinforced multi-impact EPP in-mold liner. The double overlapping shell and POC’s patented VDSAP allows for a fully ventilated helmet with maximum comfort, without sacrificing penetration resistance. Cortex DH is equipped with the patented MIPS system to reduce the rotational forces to the brain in case of an oblique impact.

POCito Skull contains the same technologies as POC’s adult race helmets but provides improved impact absorption at lower speeds and force. It has a full Aramid Penetration Barrier to protect from sharp objects and the helmet has also adjustable sizing, which allows the child to grow with the helmet. Comes in fluorescent colors with reflective stickers to maximize visibility and ultimately avoid collisions with other skiers. There is also an accessory pack including a LED light and a fluorescent vest. The goggle clip has a My Info-space for the parents’ contact information.

Goggles

Enhanced vision and protection for all conditions POC’s goggles are developed to enhance vision and protection, fulfilling the needs depending on activity and conditions. The goggles will protect your eyes from snow, ice, rain, slipstream, UV-rays, branches etc as well as assist your vision in different light conditions. For better peripheral perception, POC’s goggles are designed to optimize the field of view, giving faster reaction and ultimately promoting safety. Polyurethane frames As an alternative to hard plastic frames, POC goggles are made of soft, comfortable and flexible polyurethane. This promotes safety in case of impact as the frame spreads and absorbs some of the impact energy instead of transmitting it straight to the face.

Frame sizes Each individual has a different size, shape and geometry of nose, cheekbones and front. The fit of a goggle is personal, but POC’s line of goggles provides a wide range of sizes and shapes for optimal comfort and function. Optimized field of view To have an unobstructed view when skiing or snowboarding is crucial. POC’s goggles are designed to give a wider field of view, which allows the rider to react earlier to objects approaching from the sides, and promotes safety by giving the possibility to avoid collisions. Silicon anti-Slip treatment The inside of the goggle straps have stripes of silicone grip that makes them stick to the helmet and allows you to adjust the position of the goggle by placing the strap at a comfortable height.

Triple-layer Foam Two different densities of foam and one layer of soft fleece provide a soft and tight fit with a pleasant feeling against the skin. Lenses All POC goggles have lenses made of the best materials available each purpose. The wide lens range includes the best lenses when it comes to optical performance, resistance and protection. Cornea offers a huge field of view and the soft PU frame, with goggle strap outriggers and triple-layer foam, fits comfortably on any face. Placing the lens on the outside of the wide frame provides the field of view needed to improve reaction times. The lens has been injected to a cylindrical shape for superb optical qualities and minimal distortion. To avoid steaming the inner lens is made of anti-fog treated CP. Available NXT-version.

Lobes are designed to promote your vision and provide an exceptionally wide field of view, which is achieved by the large size and the outside placement of the lens. COLORS VS. LIGHT CONDITIONS The color spectrum runs from blue to violet, with many shades in between. Color sensation and perception is individual, which leads to a very subjective choice of lens color for varying conditions. However, there are some basic rules within the color spectrum that can enhance contrast. When choosing a lens with a yellow, orange, pink or red color it will block out more of

the blue end of the color spectrum. This will enhance contrast, enabling you to more clearly make out shapes, objects and bumps in the terrain. These lenses are suitable in low light, fog and flat light, but also in moderate light. By using a blue tint some people may also experience enhanced contrast by blocking the other end of the color spectra. In bright light, dark tints will keep your eyes more comfortable. There is also the option of choosing a brighter tint, but with a mirror coating to block some of the light. Some prefer a green lens, since it dampens the color spectrum evenly. This leads to a natural feel where the color spectrum will be experienced as normal.

POC’s goggles are developed to optimize function and protection for all activities and in all conditions. The goggles will protect your eyes from all nature’s elements as well as offer the best visibility in different light conditions. We have optimized the field of view for increased peripheral vision, which results in better reactions and ultimately enhanced safety. VLT – VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION VLT is a measurement that specifies the percentage of light coming through the lens, reaching your eyes. A clear lens for dark conditions has around 90% VLT whilst a very dark mirrored lens, for sunny conditions, may have lower than 10% VLT. Most allround lenses have between30–60% VLT.

Safety and comfort with extreme impact absorption and great freedom of movement VISCO-ELASTIC POLYMER DOUGH® The VPD (Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough) range is highly impact absorbent, comfortable, lightweight and adapts to create an individual fit. VPD has given us a completely new approach to developing body armor and due to its high level of protection and the ability to transition from soft to hard during impact, we don’t have to choose between safety and flexibility. MULTI-IMPACT PROTECTION Lots of body armor may be lightweight but is not optimal for repetitive impacts. Some may take one impact with good absorption, but a second impact to the protector will transfer a much higher amount of energy to the user, the third an even greater amount and so on. VPD retains the same high absorption level regardless of number of impacts. This is an important function to us since we believe that a protector will have several impacts during one fall and during its lifetime. We do everything we can to give you the highest level of protection, but we also want our body armor to be comfortable.

A performance race mitten with a high degree of protection, made of highest quality goatskin and with Thinsulate™ insulation. Palm Comp VPD 2.0 Glove offers optimal protection for your hands when attacking the gates due to POC’s extremely shock absorbing VPD 2.0 and EVA padding.
