Our ethical guidelines are communicated to all our suppliers and are incorporated in all contracts. Suppliers must sign a comprehensive Code of Conduct (COC) agreement. Ulvang employs persons whose main responsibility is to visit our textile producers to ensure that they are complying with our ethical guidelines and COC principles. With our CSR efforts, we support human rights, worker’s rights, the environment, and development throughout the entire value chain.

All of these efforts reflect our close relationship to nature and our commitment to ensuring a responsible and sustainable value chain for our products. Our objective is to monitor the entire value chain and ensure responsible animal welfare practices. Our focus on social responsibility has helped create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly collection. This focus will be more and more important for us in the years ahead and will guide much of the work on future collections.

Ulvang is passionate, not only about the fantastic features of wool, but also about the entire value chain, from the production of raw materials, to production, use, disposal and end of life treatment. The first step of the value chain is our carefully selected farmers. We are frequently visiting our farmers and have over the last years teamed up and formalized long-term partnerships with farmers in different parts of the world. Together with our farmers, we share strict animal welfare standards, sustainable manufacturing processes and a general passion for wool as a naturally functional fiber.

Ulvang has 0 tolerance for mulesing. All our suppliers must provide guaranteed mulesing free wool. We require certificates for this that follow all our deliveries. Mulesing has been a common practice among other things. in Australia. Mulesing is a surgical removal of skin pieces around the sheep’s tail section to

The wool can be traced back to certified farms and suppliers in Europe. All our suppliers are required to follow strict animal welfare and environmental standards, and employ sustainable production practices.
