Inspired by one of the songs from Rent, the book expresses the message from the song. The colors represent the gay rights movement. The book is done in an S shaped accordian fold to allow it to be browsed page by page or spread completely open to spell the name of the song. The typography is based on the lyrics of the song in Futura to represent the hope for the future captured in the song. The photography represents that time period in the 80s that the song is written for.
