TRAY and POT SIZES AND EXPLANATION We aim to make our customers lives easier by using multi-cell trays and root trainers to reduce the number of individual pots for ease of handling both on our nursery and by the end user. Much thought has gone into the choice of trays to propagate, grow on, transplant and finally ship to the customer. We have taken into account the volume of substrate (Peat Free from 2012), the area of optimum root growth and thus leaf area and the encouragement of strong root formation. Multi-trays are easy to pick up and put down, they lend themselves to automation in filling and seeding and they reduce labour extensively when planting out. All our trays are designed to fit on Danish trolleys.

Greenwich Peninsula Regeneration Area Biodiverse greenroof awarded ‘excellent’ BREEAM rating Lend Lease commissioned BritishFlora to install a biodiverse greenroof on a prestigious building in the Greenwich Peninsula Regeneration Area.
BritishFlora supplied and installed over 40 species of British Native wildflowers, a diverse wildflower blanket and rockery areas to provide suitable habitat for conservation priority species. Bat boxes and black redstart boxes were installed on the roof and native sympathetic planting for these species will further encourage priority species to this habitat. BritishFlora have been appointed to provide a maintenance contract and long-term botanical monitoring of the site, in addition to monitoring for priority conservation species. This monitoring will provide much needed ecological data on greenroof habitats and provide information on the effective methods of vegetation instalPlanting wildflower plugs into greenroof lation on greenroofs. substrate
Biodiverse vegetation after first growing season

The habitat and ecological enhancement works on the greenroof gained maximum Landscape and Ecology Credits, and lead to an excellent BREEAM rating awarded to this development. This biodiverse greenroof will act as a flagship for the Greenwich Regeneration Area, where biodiverse roofs will play a significant role in the landscape and ecological enhancement commitments within this Regeneration area.

This is part of a wider pond and waterway restoration scheme across the Park to improve biodiversity, water quality, erosion prevention and aesthetics of these formal and natural water ways across Hampton Court.
As an initial trial a 20m section of marginal planting was installed along Klon Dyke using planted coir rolls, fagots and backHampton Court staff installing coir rolls filling with site won silt taken from Klon Dyke. This backfilled area was planted with a diverse mix of marginal plants.
Finished backfill planting behind coir rolls at Klon Dyke Assembling floating islands
BritishFlora GOES PEAT FREE
BritishFlora, assisted by Verdant Solutions and Hampton Court staff, installed 16 linear metres of biodiverse floating islands that lined either side of the formal Long Water Canal with the Palace providing a fine backdrop to this planting.
Biodiverse floating islands and coir rolls were planted up with bespoke British Native and local provenance biodiversity mix designed by BritishFlora and were pre-established in our wet beds on the Floating Biodiverse Islands, Long Water Canal with nursery. Training of Hampton Court staff Hampton Court Palace in the background by BritishFlora technical team in marginal planting techniques will ensure the sustainability and feasibility of further marginal planting throughout Hampton Court with ongoing support from the BritishFlora team. As a result of these works further marginal planting enhancements have been undertaken in the Paddocks area of Hampton Court. Through consultation with BritishFlora Hampton Court Grounds Team restored an area of eroded bank using coir logs and backfilled with silt from the ditch thus increasing depth and narrowing the waterway to increase flow rates and enhance macrophyte diversity. The backfilled area was planted with a Native biodiverse mix provided by BritishFlora.

%ULWLVK)ORUD Seed Mixtures 2012 The following Seed Mixtures are bespoke blends of 100% perennial wildflowers (unless otherwise stated) of British Provenance seed specific to a variety of soil and environmental conditions. These mixes represent natural plant communities and have been developed over many years based on our experience in the field of habitat creation, ecology and horticulture. We are always looking to develop our seed mixtures and increase the diversity of species available to enhance the restoration our flower rich habitats and our mixes reflect this dedication. BFS Seed Mixtures can be also be ordered as Grass & Wildflower Mixtures and our technical team can advise you on the proportion of grasses to wildflowers required that is suitable for your specific project and site conditions.
