Moving onto campus Dear Parents and Family Members, Welcome to Residence Life at Wichita State University! Residence halls on campus are communities where our students can focus on their studies, hold leadership positions, and achieve personal success. We are excited to welcome new students as they move into their “home away from home” - we are thrilled that they have chosen to live with us at WSU!

New Student Packing list: What to bring and what not to bring!

There are some items that a room only needs one of so we encourage you and your roommate(s) to to discuss the following items on the list below. We do recommend waiting until your arrival to purchase some items due to the fact that many of the items you may need will be close to campus for purchasing. All electrical items must bear the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) seal of approval. For the complete list click here.

Roommate and Suitemate Agreements Having a positive relationship with your roommate depends on each of you trying to make an honest attempt to get to know the other. When students are placed in a residence hall they must prepare for this new experience with an open mind and an appreciation for those differences that exist in each person’s background.

Housing and Residence Life Handbook Wichita State University and Housing and Residence Life reserve the right to make other rules and regulations or to modify existing regulations as it may become necessary and appropriate for the safety, care, cleanliness of the premises, and for securing the comfort and convenience of all residents.

Residents will be held accountable for all policies and procedures contained within the official Housing and Residence Life Handbook, in addition to the current Housing and Residence Life Room and Board Application/Contract. Click Here to review the complete handbook.

Meningitis A copy of your immunization record with vaccination dates or an online waiver must be submitted to Housing and Residence Life/Student Health within 15 days of occupancy. Failure to submit documentation of vaccination dates may cause a HOLD to be placed on your account. Please COPY, FAX, OR MAIL your meningitis v accination information including the date it was given. It must be in English.
