Double Exposure, or Multiple Exposure, is a photographic technique that combines 2 different images into a single image. One way to create a double exposure as you are taking a picture is to use a filter: cover part of the lens and take a snapshot; then remove the cover, place it over the other part of the lens and take another shot. At times, more than two images are exposed to a singe frame of film. In these cases, the photographer has effected a “multiple exposure.”
