Nang Talung, the few hundred years old was a form of entertainment to the people of Thailand. Usually lasting for hours, their stories inspired of the ancient Ramayana and Mahabharata are told in these aspects:
Verse
Speech
Music
decline of the traditional craft | modernization
8 Seconds Urban Modernization | Fast-Paced Lifestyle The ever growing urbanisation of Thailand encourages even faster productivity of the society that has affected the lives of the modern citizen of Thailand. Simplicity has come into the picture to allow transfer of information to take place much faster.
Shorter Attention Span The modern lifestyle has conditioned citizens to be less atune to mundane activities, only having an attention span of 8 seconds on average.
Modern Film Influence The introduction of modern films with higher action and fast-paced capabilities has become the preferred medium of entertainment. With these influences, people tend to look for more fast-paced, engaging stories that they can relate with personally.
Relatibilty: a faster understanding of narrative when one can relate personal experiences to the story and resonate with em-
pathy.

site | dok kachao’s intimacy
Dok Kachao
Social Spaces
Dok Kachao features a beautiful flower garden that is vibrant and filled with colours. The harmony of these colour invokes a very intimate and memorable experiences to the visitors of the site.
Human perceives space within a set distance of layer, which is where we define what is personal or social spaces. Using these boundaries, how can they overlap with each other to form intimate spaces between users?
The intimacy of the site is what creates an intimate and memorable moment between two or more users of the site
grammar of ornamentation
Empathy | Action | Intimacy
grammar of ornamentation Boundary Space Represents the personal space of a character
Empathy The shape of the boundary or space is what tells the message, action, story, and personality of the characters to the audience. Action Action played by characters influence the space surrounding it
Overlapping | Intimacy The overlapping of two intimate or personal spaces creates a new event in between .
Empathy | Action | Intimacy The action of the characters in Nunui further sets the weight of illusion of recognizability where the audiences can empathize with the stakes of the narrative. Using this inspiration and combining the concept of intimacy, the abstract art explores the possibilities of users action that defines the space through its overlapping distance layers, activitities and context and how they come together to form something meaningful for the users as reflected by the combination of animation and shadow puppetry.

The issue of corporate workflow is each department do not communicate with each other as well, performing task transfer and relies on a single director as the vision of work produced. The importance of values input from specific departments are high because of the specific subtle qualities that can impact the narrative or quality of the work produced. The question is how do we equalize the hierachy of each roles to bring everyone together in a better communication space.

programmatic diagram
The main idea of my programme is going to be a coworking studio and research centre where artist from different communities are able to come together to inspire each other in evolving the craft into different creative mediums that best preserves the craft. Can be in the form of film, game, music, infographic, etc. All programmes are listed as hard programmes, in between are soft programmes that only involves social interaction, walkway, etc. As a whole, the final research, whatever it may be are able to earn finance and exposure which in turn will fund the next experimental project for Nang Talung.

Inpsired from the previous grammar of ornamentation, the newly redefined wall can not only create intimate spaces through the use of shapes, screen, materials, and aesthetic but connect them together visually and physically while giving the users the freedom in using the space. The extrusion and the new shape of this wall creates an ambiguity in building elements. Is it a stairs? Is it a wall? Is it a floor? It serves all those functions providing the users their privacy and connectivity.

General form affects the design of the facade and overall design where in this case was used to create an organic form of grid structure that blends with nature. The void provides see through assimilation towards the interior and exterior while providing the ambiguity of functional space as intimate moments of user’s unique choice of usage.
