Hua Yu once said “Death is not about losing your life; it is about living beyond the time. ” The act of "eating" continues to occur in our daily lives in different forms. Diet represent culture and timeliness of a region. However, the space of dining is similar from breakfast to late night meal. By designing a new dining place surrounded by time signals, people who are eating can capture time as the space changes, and the restaurant can show the corresponding state at different timing.
| Introduction |
Wuxing Street is located on the border of the timeless Xinyi planning area, with extremely high functional diversity. The tailor shop, post office and print shop standalone among restaurants, opening alone in the Wuxing business district during non-dining hours. The unique activities hidden in these stores hint different timing in the day but are not discovered by us. I try to radiate these unique signals to imply different meals and patterns throughout the day. This restaurant was dismantled and placed throughout the island. The signal of time can come from the sound of neighbors, the penetration of sunlight, the change of activity...At the restaurant in clock island, try to find and feel time by small but vital changes around you.

The Place Without Time
「吃」以多種形式發生在日常,獨特飲食習 慣似乎代表著一個地區的作息﹑文化與時間 性。然而現今從早餐到消夜這些屬於吃的空 間都大同小異,由點餐的櫃台,座位,廚房 組成。然而這些被定義好的空間不能讓我們 感受到當下的時間。這是一個死亡的空間。

有趣的是,我們吃飯前後所經過的街道反而 賦予了我們很多關於當前時間的線索。看到 穿著制服的孩子在遲到前的奔跑,或者看到 公園老人整齊跳著廣場舞,一樁樁事件發散 屬於日常的早晨氛圍。這些街道空間沒有特 定的名稱,但它是人們感知時間的重要場所 。

因此我設想無名空間中的餐廳的可能性:藉 由設計一個包夾於無名空間中的用餐場域, 透過外部聲、光、影與活動的變化定位一日 中各餐的獨特環境。

在 «Einstein’s Dreams» 第二十六個夢境中提到, 時間地域性的,而日常生活中有很多時間信號。每 當提到早晨這個時段,陽光下的早餐咖啡是一種信 號、來自鬧鐘的聲音也是一種象徵。這些信號同時 不斷發生,從而融合在一起,形成一種特殊的時間 印象。時間是信號當下的集合。

案例參考的展覽 ”The Clock ”試圖描述 10:15 到 10:25 的這段夜晚片刻。 作者藉由延深並展開一段時間的手法,在其中設立 許多節點,剪接來自不同電影但用來描述夜晚時間 的片段。 儘管這些影片原先沒有任何關係,但經過擷取,畫 面中人物的燈光、事件和情緒都形成了這個時期獨 特的信號。來自不同電影場景融合後,形成了晚上 十點的氛圍。

延展吃早餐的過程,早餐店的顧客通過串聯用餐經驗 接收周遭活動所發出的一系列時間信號。從公園、學 校、公寓到其他商店。點餐時身旁窗戶映射穿帶整齊 的女士,在上班趕路的壓力下匆忙下公寓樓梯,或者 在找座位之間看到學生們趕在7:30遲到鐘聲響起前, 從容走路到跑步上學再到鐘聲響起後恢復寂靜的變化 。

穿過兩向延伸大拱門遇見兩座樓梯, 找尋何者才是屬於早餐店的入口。順 著樓梯向上的軌跡,看到的分別是下 樓梯的上班居民與上樓梯的店家顧客 。在點餐櫃檯等待的10分鐘,窗外不 斷傳來居民下樓的奔跑痕跡,是承載 忙碌的活力通道,來自住戶經過之影 在空間閃爍。
被截斷的天橋兩端分別朝向公園廣場 並連接反射面鏡。在等待餐點的同時 ,面鏡反射公園季節性樹木的色彩, 在等待空間裡,在四季看見不同顏色 ,經歷花開花落。運動的老人在晨間 一同被印入空間,是早晨的動態。
拿著溫熱的早餐在天橋中央走道兩旁 的座位區選擇那張度過一日起頭時光 的桌子。學生不斷由中央走道經過, 腳步從緩慢加速到衝刺,最終再也不 見他們的身影。中央走道是時間的伸 展台,時間速度的變化從身旁掠過, 記錄著孩子們一天中早上獨特的運動 軌跡。
在從早餐店歇業到回家的過程,必須 一次又一次的經過信號燈塔。看見樓 下廚房的燈被點亮了,油煙排放的霧 氣再次升起。這道光是來自早餐店再 次營業的凌晨信號,抑或是鄰居回到 家準備烹煮晚餐的傍晚信號?

| About Xinyi District |
信義區作為台北的商業地標,中心計畫區域皆被商業、政治與百貨大樓佔據。由於各高層 建築占地廣大,與外部連接多被建築皮層店家佔據,導致內部區域幾乎封閉,獨自過著自 己的時間。這些地標空間代表著台北的商業卻無法記錄與感受這些商業活動所產生的獨特 時間性。
Xinyi District - The Space without names -
吳興街作為信義區常民的主要消費商圈,商家之間相互附加纏繞,而互相影響作息時間。 商家之間的錯縱空間關係訴說著這個商業中心獨特且複雜的時間故事,一個屬於信義常民 的生活時鐘地標,應該建立在巷弄間緊密的矮房之間,建立在這條被忽略的重要商業大街 上。信義區不只乘載著無個性的百貨大樓,屬於居民的生活的記憶、居民生活的時間成就 新的信義時鐘誕生。

有了包裹在寺廟之間的小吃店,讓夜晚的 寺廟不再因為人少而感到危險。是信義獨 有的夜間廟宇。
便利店的招牌延伸讓商店散發出擴張的錯 覺,商店背後的房子透露出似乎總有人在 的氛圍。二十四小時營業住宅只在信義開 幕。

Coffee Shop of Tailoring Time - The Cloth Changing Room in the City - Time Symbols on the Street -
展開咖啡店的就餐流程,將每個用餐步驟分開並在鑲嵌在裁縫店各個活動之間。正如裁 縫選擇面料、線、裝飾的概念一樣,咖啡店的就餐順序和流程不受限制和規範,消費者 將量身定制自己的用餐體驗,並在過程中得到來自層裁縫店的時間信號。 Design 02

郵局裡的餐廳像包裝包裹一樣一層層推進。每向前走一區,就能看到公寓發出新的信號 ,看見下班後確認佈告欄提醒的住戶,每小時在樓梯間抽煙的中年人…… Design 03
Dining Tower of Filtering Time - The Study Room in the City
印刷店的小吃店通過光線的穿透變化來呈現日常活動的狀態,到達小吃店的光線被閱讀 間的玻璃、影印間的玻璃、陽台餐桌旁的鐵網一再過濾折射,光線隨著活動產生的濾鏡 下在每個時段展現屬於他的樣貌。

美容院活動的聲音通過音管傳送到 不同的用餐空間。如同鐘聲一般, 每半小時循環響起。
鏡筒反射屋頂上衣架所曬七彩服裝 的光線和顏色。在每隔兩天的午後 當陽光普照之時,餐桌旁的牆壁映 射其獨特色彩。

陽光穿過屋頂之間的縫隙,再透過 第二塊玻璃的折射照射到書店的牆 面。午後光線穿透書店,營造平穩 的閱讀空間。
光穿過鋼板和玻璃,穿透不同的活 動中的人們。地下畫廊的入口只有 在好天氣的傍晚在光線的直射下才 能顯現。

美容院的入口樓梯環繞著點餐櫃檯 。人們購買早餐時,來自美容院消 費者路過發出的聲音和影子,將充 滿活力的早晨訊號帶入點餐空間。

夜幕降臨,透過旅館煙囪向內凸出 的環形窗戶照亮了二樓酒吧。夜光 煙囪只在夜晚亮起。
旅客返回旅館的過程間接影響到晚 上酒吧的氣氛。

在迷失高度的旋轉樓梯中,通過窗戶和陽台的景色判斷所處位置。隨著時 間的變化,陪伴的用餐夥伴也在變化。清晨的三樓陽台是寂靜的餐廳,相 反,晚上居民會陪你一起吃飯。
用餐座位配置緊鄰樓梯。用餐聊天 聲音時大時小的在圓柱形空間內穿 梭迴盪,成為吃飯的時間客人判斷 是否有座位的參考。 - 20 -

散落的餐廳:餐廳被延展並分解於時間 島中,透過重組吃的過程接收來自不同 部分疊加發散的時間氛圍。來自書店的 市場原料到美容院的點餐檯再到旅館中 的酒吧,於移動的過程中接收信號。
鐘島時間:煙囪作為「食」的暗示,如指 針一般發出時間島上的時信號。島外原先 存在的煙的煙囪與島內新的日光煙囪、夜 光煙囪、聲之煙囪相互互動。在日昇日落 之間交替擺盪。

緊鄰伸展台攝影棚的用餐區

Whenever guests get a meal to enter the seating area, they will pass the sound chimney. The shutter sound in the studio on the catwalk sounds punctually per hour. As the angle of the sun changes throughout the day, the location of the photo studio changes. The background sound from the studio and beauty salon changes the atmosphere of the dining area, from noisy to quiet.
每當客人穿梭用餐區與取餐區之間,他們都會經過 聲之煙囪。 走秀台上攝影工作室的快門聲每小時準 時響起。 隨著一天太陽入射角度的改變,攝影工作 室的位置相對發生變化。 工作室和美容院的背景聲 音成為用餐區的聲之時鐘,以半小時到一小時的間 距暗示享用一頓餐點的時間,計算白天到晚上,嘈 雜到安靜。
P01 - 來自洗頭廳的水聲每隔半小時經由鐵窗再到 聲之煙囪傳入樓下座位區。每三十分鐘響起的水聲 是結束用餐離開的提醒。

The Night Bar Between Hotels

旅館間的夜燈酒吧
P03
The roof of night bar is extends to the stairwell of each hotel. When the traveler returned to their rooms, they passed the stairwell, turning on the lights and making sound by climbing up the stairs. Those lights and sound from the staircases and rooms indicate that the bar is open. The number of travelers’ luggage implies the state of the number of people in the bar. With the departure of travelers in the morning, the bar transforms back to a static buffet.
酒吧的屋頂向上延伸到旅館各自的樓梯間,在旅人 回到住所的過程中,經過並打開的電燈成為營業暗 示。根據入住人數的多寡暗示酒吧今晚的熱鬧程度 ,隨著晨光來臨與旅人的離去,酒吧再次歇業,安 靜沉睡於旅館之間。 P03 - 旅館中的縫隙梯廳隨著旅人的回歸亮起,一 層層逐漸照亮酒吧。 P04 - 來自對面房間亮起的燈光穿越兩扇窗戶的過 濾,成為睡覺漆黑房間內的夜燈,提醒睡眠時間的 到來。

The Market Under Library
書架中的果菜市場 蔬果市場與輕食飲料吧被夾在層層書店的中心。每 當天氣晴朗的早晨,陽光穿透層層玻璃與書櫃照亮 攤位,是營業的訊號。隨著陽光角度改變,市場空 間由明轉暗,光線灑落在地下藝廊的入口,宣告市 場的休憩並迎接藝廊的開幕。市場熱鬧與安靜氣氛 隨著光影交替在不同時段被印刷在空間中。
