With the rapid progress of urbanization, the surprising similarities of modern cities across the planet earth deem it increasingly necessary to consider the impacts of growth on people and the environment. The analysis and understanding of the interaction between city, architecture and inhabitants; and how we chose to shape our cities, buildings and public spaces will indeed determine and relate to many other facts that will help determine our approach to future cities.

Many cities have increasingly alienating nature; in their density, one finds “space” but no sense of “place”. The urban inhabitants constantly arrive “anywhere”, but not “somewhere”. Under such circumstances, what shall be the true concern of man in general, and what shall be the concern in architecture profession in particular?

As an architect, I hope that through realistic design, people can break the class and have the right to enjoy the space to resist the phenomenon of “pseudo-humanistic care” in the post-media society.

This portfolio selects my four representative works during my undergraduate education.

The selected campus is located in a busy area with high traffic, but because of the walls, the campus has become inaccessible to outsiders. In order to improve the social attributes of the university campus and solve the contradiction between campus privacy and openness, the project explored the reconstruction of the campus gate by selecting the permeability of the cell membrane.

The project is located in Laoheng Street, Fengmen, Suzhou, and aims to create a waterfront place that combines local industrial activities and tourist visits. Through research, it was found that Suzhou's ancient crafts are gradually dying out, and tourists often cannot see the real production process behind traditional industries. To this end, the project designed a main browsing flow line and three work flow lines to interweave tourists with industrial activities, and re-present traditional craft scenes such as weaving and dyeing, iron art, and fish ball production. The architectural design not only considers the roof and walls, but also pays more attention to the interaction with human behavior and the environment. It uses different materials and space types to reproduce the production process, awaken cultural memory, and show the ecological concept of symbiosis between nature, production, and life, and promote the "living" continuation of culture.

Historical changes, the ancient prosperity of Chang 'an city has disappeared, leaving only a series of ruins such as the city wall. The rapid development of modern buildings has occupied the public space of people in the base. This project aims to extract the sense of space and people's emotions from traditional Chinese paintings and explore a new compressed community center.
