network of recognised installers ZKR FDQ À[ CORIUM from mobile platforms, scissor lifts, mast climbers or traditional scaffolding. Through partnerships, &25,80 is also available as part of pre-fabricated solutions, where manufacture takes place under quality controlled, factory conditions, this allows for construction without delays due to adverse weather, reduced materials wastage and also dramatically reduced site construction time. These panels are either lightweight steel frame or unitised aluminium systems and are available for larger scale projects where overall project cost savings can be realised. Suitability: &25,80 is suitable for use with a wide variety of sub-structures including concrete, timber-frame, structural steel, lightweight steel frames and masonry and structurally insulated panels. 6SHHG &25,80 brick-tiles are simply clipped into place. The clipping process ensures that consistent horizontal joints are achieved, whilst vertical joint spacing can be adjusted to suit design requirements.

Simplicity: Once all brick-tiles are installed and the quality approved, mortar is applied. The mortar is typically 1:1:6, cement:lime:sand mix applied using a pump system. Prebagged Parex Historic KL mortar is preferred as it has EHHQ GHYHORSHG VSHFLĂ€FDOO\ IRU WKH V\VWHP and suits the characteristics of the tiles. Fitting to a timber frame, Sainsbury’s needed a fast track cladding system as they had a time restricted build programme. &25,80 was chosen for its speed and simplicity, when compared to traditional building methods.

/quality & creativity birmingham city university birmingham Client: Birmingham City University Designer: Associated Architects Contractor: Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd. Sub-contractor: Alumet Systems (UK) Ltd. &25,80 was originally only going to be used for the glazed brick sloping window reveals as this ne-gated the need to use pre-cast concrete supports for traditional brickwork. The cost saving this provided meant they could use the &25,80 over the whole scheme, some 2,700sqm of &25,80 was supplied, in 6 different colours. TM were approached to provide cladding solutions for the window reveals and a multi coloured strip around the bottom of the building. Traditional brick would not be suitable for the technical reveals and colour differences.

Externally, Shakespeare House was overclad with &25,80 SURYLGLQJ DQ DWWUDFWLYH ÀQLVK WR PRGHUQLVH WKH building which will also be completely insulated to improve WKHUPDO HIÀFLHQF\ KHOSLQJ WR UHGXFH HQHUJ\ ELOOV IRU residents.

collegelands student accomodation, glasgow Client: 7KH 81,7( *URXS 3OF Designer: Manson Architect Contractor: Watkin Jones Speed of construction was essential for this high rise student accommodation in central Glasgow. Over 5000m² of &25,80 was installed entirely from scissor lifts over 6 months, mainly throughout the harsh winter months with temperatures consistently remaining below freezing. The strict design and planning stipulations led to the use of over 80,000 corners to achieve a traditional double pillar detail that replicated existing buildings, which allowed &25,80 to achieve a traditional brick façade with a modern, fast track form of construction. royal devon & exeter hospital exeter Client: Exeter and the Royal Devon & Exeter NHSFT Designer: Devereux Architects Contractor: ,QWHUVHUYH Sub contractor: Progressive Systems 7KH QHZ 5HVHDUFK ,QQRYDWLRQ /HDUQLQJ &HQWUH DW :RQIRUG is a single building, which will be shared by the University of Exeter, Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust for education and training purposes. The use of the &25,80 system provided an ideal solution to the design intent for a pitched facade which could not be achieved using a standard brick. The Forticrete Walling Stone supplied included a mixture of both fair face and split face blocks which were used in a unique design along the side building.

This brand new, much awaited station building has been built as part of the Department for Transport’s National 6WDWLRQ ,PSURYHPHQW 3URJUDPPH 16,3 DQG ZLOO EULQJ noticeable and lasting improvements for passengers who use the station. 7KURXJK 16,3 WKH ROG VWDWLRQ EXLOGLQJ DW +DVVRFNV KDV EHHQ replaced with a state of the art modern building however, knowing that the subject of a new station was very close to the hearts of Hassocks residents, Southern worked closely with the Hassocks Rail Group & bpr architects/ TM on developing the station design – even to the point of DJUHHLQJ WKH EULFN FODGGLQJ ÀQLVK VR WKDW LW EOHQGHG LQ ZLWK the traditionally built, existing nearby railway cottages. The previous station was built in 1972 and became no ORQJHU ÀW IRU SXUSRVH 7KH NH\ WR WKH GHVLJQ RI WKH QHZ station building was to make it easier for railway staff to maintain, and provide more resistance to vandalism.

st ambrose college Client: St Ambrose College Designer: Sheppard Robson Contractor: Balfour Beatty TM was approached in 2009 to deliver the facade materials for the ÂŁ24million buildings that would be sited on the school’s sports area. Whilst a traditional brick option was initially proposed, the &25,80 brick cladding system was subsequently VHOHFWHG DV LW SURYLGHG FRVW EHQHĂ€WV GHVLJQ VROXWLRQV and, crucially, complied with the contractor’s ‘zero-harm’ policy on scaffolding. TM were particularly keen to impress on the contractor Balfour Beatty the excellent health and safety rating of using &25,80, which does not require scaffolding to install. The lightweight and easy-to-install nature of &25,80 allows installation to take place from scissor lifts. Jonathan Davis, from Sheppard Robson, says: “The &25,80 brick system was suggested as a means to avoid scaffolding and get the building water-tight rapidly.
