As one of the worlds favorite foods, it’s hard to say no to a good sandwich. When I first arrived years ago, a good sandwich was hard to find, but now they are available here, there, and everywhere. With such an abundance of bread filled goodness, it’s hard to know where to find the best. My top 5 guide should help you to narrow it down. 1. Suji’s - Top spot has to belong to the turkey club sandwich available at Suji’s. Turkey is hard to come by here in Korea but Suji’s has it in spades. She is the queen of deli meats, also offering pastrami, honey ham, roast beef, and corned beef. You can get these bad boys to stay or to go. (13,000)

2. Marakech Night - Moroccan sandwiches are the best. A chicken or beef panachi, stuffed with vegetables, cheese, and pieces of potato deep fried in batter. All housed in a sumptuous piece of french bread. 5,000 for a sandwich, or 7,000 with fries and salad. 3. Indigo - The basil pesto chicken is my absolute favourite sandwich to cure a hangover. A large sub filled to the brim and bursting with delicious shredded chicken, basil pesto, tomatoes and melted mozzarella cheese. What could be finer? (9,000)

4. Mr Kebab - Not quite a sandwich, more of a wrap, but we couldn’t have a list about sandwiches without a mention for kebabs. Chicken or lamb, lots of veg, sauce and wrapped in a tortilla. These are Itaewon’s most popular sandwiches for those on the go. (5,000) 5. Craftworks - Pulled pork is all the rage these days and Craftworks know how to do it right. In house smoked pork, that’s so soft and juicy it’s falling apart, smothered in bbq sauce and served in a soft white roll. Served with fries and coleslaw, it’s a hell of a sandwich. (13,000)

Free legal consultations are available at the Itaewon Global Village Center every Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A volunteer lawyer from a private law firm is available to answer legal questions and answer inquiries regarding Korean law. 3.Mamma Mia! Comes to Seoul
The smash hit musical, Mamma Mia!, will be coming to Korea for the first time this fall. Based on the songs of ABBA, the musical follows the story of Sophie, who is on the search for her biological father all while preparing for her wedding. The performance will include members of the original cast and is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Mamma Mia! will be shown at the Blue Square Musical Hall in Hannamdong until March 23rd. 4.Yongsan-gu Toy Rental Center
The Yongsan District Office is running a service for children’s toy rentals. Renting toys can be a great option for teachers, those hosting parties with young children, or parents who are on a budget. The service is located in the basement level of Samgakji subway station near exits seven through fourteen. Visitors are allowed to borrow books, toys, and DVDs free of charge. Visitors must register when they visit the center to use the service. A foreign registry certificate (외국인사실증명서) and an alien registration card are also needed. The foreign registry certificate can be obtained at the Yongsan District Office. The service is available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays excluding Tuesday, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Thursdays. 2013 Itaewon Global Village Festival
Since 2008, the Itaewon Global Village Festival has been bringing Korean traditions and foreign cultures together and it is back again this fall at Itaewon, the ‘World Village’ of Seoul. The festival will start on Saturday, October 12, with the opening ceremony followed by the World Culture Parade, a large scale parade along Hangangjin and Noksapyeong Station through Itaewon. Afterwards, the excitement of multicultural festivities will be filled with various performances including the Hallyu girl group, Girl’s Day, No Brain, and various other performances. On Sunday, October 13, C&M Sharing Good Happiness Concert (C&M ‘행복나눔 착한 콘서트) will be held to deliver hope to children in countries that lack clean drinking water. Enjoy delicious foods from all parts of the globe at the World Food Zone. Everyone is invited to mingle, enjoy, taste, and experience different cultures, delicious food, and various traditions. H.B.C(Haebangchon) Fall Festival
The biannual H.B.C Festival is here again! With cooperation from business owners, local musicians, and residents, the H.B.C Fall Festival is a celebration of music, art, and life. The festival will take place on the main strip of the Haebangchon (also known as Freedom Village) neighborhood of Yongsan-gu. Organized by DEELEEBOB Music, the festival has gathered lots of momentum and has become one of the most anticipated festivals in the Itaewon area. H.B.C Fall Festival will happen from Friday, October 18th, to Saturday, October 19th. Live music will start from 9 p.m. on Friday, and from 3 p.m. on Saturday.
