Press release BLI PRO Award: Konica Minolta wins first place at first try Langenhagen, Germany, May 2012 Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRESS C7000 has won Buyers Laboratory’s (BLI) first ever BLI PRO Award. This PRESS is the first production unit ever tested to receive BLI’s five-star rating for colour consistency. Furthermore, no other model tested processed BLI’s 1.4-GB RIP job stream in less time. When printing jobs include a mix of heavy and lightweight or coated and uncoated media, the light-production printer is almost 40% faster than the secondfastest competing device. There is no printer on the market in the light-production category that can compete with the bizhub PRESS C7000’s excellent performance to win BLI’s first ever PRO Award. For this test, the 71 pages per minute (ppm) colour production printer teamed up with the IC-306 EFI Fiery controller to print 33,121 impressions. The bizhub PRESS C7000 was the first production device ever tested to receive BLI’s five star rating for colour consistency. Further impressive results are that no device tested completed BLI’s 1.4-GB Raster Image Process (RIP) job stream test faster than the bizhub PRESS C7000: The machine output the seven single-page high resolution files in 82.31 seconds in 600dots per inch-mode (dpi) outperforming all competing units tested. Supporting paper sizes up to 330 x 487 millimetres, and duplexing on media weights up to 300 grams per square metre (gsm), the bizhub shows impressive productivity when producing jobs that include a mix of heavy and lightweight or coated and uncoated media. The system delivered a 39.3% advantage over the second-fastest competing device tested when producing a 48-page test document with 300 gsm printed covers.
