Press release Konica Minolta’s new pagepro 1480MF and 1490MF – your first office all-in-ones Langenhagen, Germany, December 2009 Konica Minolta presents two new all-in-one laser printers: the pagepro 1480MF and pagepro 1490MF, available from spring 2010. These desktop devices offer compact multifunctionality at an attractive price, which makes them ideal for home offices and small businesses. With their productive monochrome speed of 20 pages per minute, colour scanning and – in the pagepro 1490MF – flexible faxing, the printers serve perfectly as “your first office”. The costsaving eco-mode saves up to 40% on toner and ensures economic printing with a small footprint.
“Our new pagepro 1480MF and 14890MF meet the requirements of small offices in particular, for example freelancers who are just starting up their business, as the devices handle a large range of office jobs easily and at low running costs,” says Lars Moderow, Product Manager Printers, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “Buying and operating a single multifunctional system costs far less than using different devices for printing, scanning and faxing. And besides, all-in-one solutions are very convenient to work side by side with because they are so compact and operate almost noiselessly.”
As for media handling, the pagepro 1480MF and pagepro 1490MF are very flexible and offer everything that a small business needs. Equipped with 250-sheet paper input as standard, the devices support paper with 52 to 162 gsm and process labels, envelopes and thick paper with ease. As productive GDI printers, the new all-in-ones 1
print monochrome pages quickly in high quality at 600 dpi x 600 dpi. Printing features include, for example, direct printing of JPEG, TIFF and TXT files from a USB stick. In eco-mode, users can save up to 40% of toner on drafts and internal documents.
With a copying speed at 20 pages per minute, the devices are not only productive, but offer attractive versatility. They can zoom pages in and out between 25% and 400% and use 2-in-1 and 4-in-1 copy to save filling space. The pagepro 1490MF’s user-friendly 50-page automatic document feeder allows hands-free copying of multipage documents.
The scanning capabilities include up to 8 pages per minute in colour or 23 in black and white, and help making creative brochures and magazine pages. Documents can be scanned as PDF, TIFF or JPEG files. In addition, the pagepro 1490MF has a QWERTY keyboard via which users can easily enter e.g. document names. Both allin-ones are equipped with software that enables optical character recognition (OCR) and are thus able to convert scanned documents into electronic files.
Flexible faxing is possible with the pagepro 1490MF. Faxes can be sent from the allin-one and received by the PC directly, taking advantage of the comprehensive address book, while avoiding having to print every incoming fax. The 125-page fax memory can be extended by using the fax-to-USB function so that no communication is lost – even if the internal memory is full. Due to the USB key functionality, including USB-to-print, scan-to-USB and fax-to-USB, the USB can be used as extended fax memory.
“Besides cleverly handling multifunctional office tasks, the new pagepro 1480MF and 1490MF offer an extra to boost ease of use, which is especially interesting for people just starting small businesses,” says Lars Moderow. “The Companion Suite software provides fast and easy management directly from the user’s PC. The complete setup of the device with all settings, including storing destinations in the address book, can be handled in comfort from the user’s desk.”
