Putting Victims First

Lighthouse victim and witness care - new support services for victims Guiding you through the criminal justice service A brand new emotional support service for victims of crime and anti-social behaviour • Victims will be updated during the course of the investigation • Additional support will be provided by Lighthouse to our most vulnerable, persistently targeted or intimidated victims


Local Policing • Local Policing remains at the centre of our Policing model • Communities will see greater visibility of our officers • Neighbourhood and Patrol Officers working together in a single Local Policing Team • Added resilience to ensure we are in the right place with the skills and experience when the public need us most • New Neighbourhood Manager role working closely with partners and communities to tackle hotspots • A commitment to real time problem solving in line with our Service Promise

Rural Crime

Rural Crime Team launched April 2014

Working with external organisations and local communities to identify key issues, help reduce crime and facilitate collaboration with other forces and organisations such as the National Farmers Union

The team also act in an advisory capacity for Local Policing Teams and provide training to staff and other officers to help give them a better understanding of rural issues and ultimately provide a better service to rural communities

Operate Farmwatch and Horsewatch schemes

Outcomes • We are committed to continuous improvement • We review our outcome data to understand how we can improve our service levels – this includes a monthly customer satisfaction survey • We monitor the level of positive outcomes (e.g. charges, summons, cautions, community resolutions) • We review crimes that are not resolved to understand why • We use HMIC Inspection findings and internal audit to identify areas for improvement • We ensure that this activity is reflected as part of our organisational learning and strategic planning
