Back Ground • South Gloucestershire wards are subject to review and it is anticipated that this will be finalised by May 2019 • Neighbourhood policing is currently redefining its role to support a more visible presences and to ensure communities are better supported, this presents an opportunity for local policing to be on the front foot and to ensure our changes reflect the ward changes • Help reduce demand with a focus on early intervention and supporting NHP priorities in tackling serious and organised crime, and keeping the most vulnerable safe. • Support the NHP mission of reducing harm for our communities and reduce demand for the organisation through early intervention

Align as many changes as we can to our review which is due to be implemented in Sept 2018 Assign a PCSO to each ward Ensure a beat manager is assigned to each beat Create resilient teams that operate locally and are better equipped to meet demand Increase foot and bike patrols
What have we done so far? • The Sergeant in each area has responsibility for all the staff and issues in their area, to give continuity, ownership and oversight of issues, and certainty for partners. • Opportunity taken to amalgamate beats to ensure equitable split work • Solution based around delivering problem solving and local concerns • 2 teams, opposite side of the district will be on the same shift pattern. This will provide additional support and flexibility • Introduction of bikes and more foot patrol.
