Garment end up landfill

Tons of garments end up in a landfill. Reducing waste is giving these garments another life and DEPOP is a popular secondhand app among people.

Weakness of online shopping

DEPOP lacks physical store experience though they take the advantage of social shopping. Pop-up space would make up for this weakness.

Cloths caring MOVING

Easy fix problems

Some people throw away clothes with easy-fix problems like losing buttons or stains.

Upcycle

Trace of use is also a problem that people don't wanna buy secondhand clothes and upcycling is another way to reuse garments and extend product life.

SITE CHOOSING

VINTAGE STORE

Brighton is renowned for being a multicultural city with a large creative population. University students are among those who might be interested in buying used goods. Here, they may readily locate vintage clothing.

There are about 25 vintage shops in Brighton's central area, making it a good location with lots of young people to host the pop-up event.

Palace pier reimagine

LOCATION: BRIGHTON

Concept

This project aims to incorporate starling observation into space architecture, giving visitors and scholars an up-close and personal experience.

Rethinking Brighton Palace Pier's potential is a design challenge. Designing a space that can accommodate researchers' needs while also serving as another recreational area requires consideration of the local climate and topography.

Murmuration is a rare natural phenomenon that occurred at Brighton Palace Pier between October and April of the following year. In order to give researchers and public a closer experience to understand nature, starlings will nest under the bridge framework. Starling viewing will be the primary use during the murmuration season, with the remainder being used as a public gathering place or exhibition.

Brighton Hippodrome

After 2007, the Brighton Hippodrome closed. It is situated in Brighton's central area, where a large number of residents enjoy their leisure time. Yet, since this structure has been vacant for nearly 15 years, hardly anyone visits the street where the Hippodrome is located. This initiative intends to give homeless individuals skills and give viewers different perspectives while viewing a show.

In the theatre or hippodrome, after patrons are seated and the performance has begun, they are unable to select their view frame.

The show's interruption cannot be controlled by the audience. Also, they missed the opportunity to observe what was going behind the scenes.

To let customers have a close-up and indepth experience in this place, include the front and behind stage ideas into a restaurant and the visiting route.

Design concept :

In the 18th century, a garden served as a social hub for leisure activities. I try to recreate the greenhouse in the background as a new meeting place and use stage structure components like the grid or square shape into the design. Infront of the kitchen has a distinctive wall design that obstructs spectators' views and muddles the distinction between the front and back stages, with the goal of offering several possibilities for viewing performances.
