Combine Systematic Workflow for Converting Patterns into Space
Year: 2020 Tutor : Jason Guo Software : Rhino, Grasshopper, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop
INSPIRATION THE ANCIENT WAY OF RECORDING People are accustomed to transforming daily life and beliefs into paintings and sculptures, which are recorded on building walls and structures.
MODERN WAY OF RECORDING People are accustomed to using electronic equipment to record the moments of movement, and most of the recorded information is based on the pixel grid on the screen.
CONCEPT Inspired by the difference between the ancient and modern recorded lifestyles, I used the elements of the ancient records on the architecture as design materials, and the characteristics of the modern recorded events are mapped to these pattern elements. Finally I translated them into a folk art Museum space. Before officially launching the design, I created the visual art on the right to express my vision of the design concept.

STEP 6. THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE EXPERIMENT In order to explore the characteristics of the space obtained from STEP 4, I used the pattern obtained in STEP 2 as experimental materials, and found the potential possibilities of the space by analyzing the rationality of the three-dimensional space. I have selected 5 representative models from many model tests, and drawn the necessary experimental conclusions from them.
According to the experimental conclusions, I selected the E model in the experiment as the basic prototype for readjustment.

FACADE
I evaluate the structural stability of different spatial models by observing their facade outlines.
CONCLUSION 1 :By comparing their facade outlines, I can know from this that the movement of the pattern position will affect the three-dimensional form. Compared with the three modes of A, B and C, the D and E modes with outer frame control are easier to achieve the stability of the building. SECTION
S T E P 6 . A D J U S T T H E PAT T E R N COMBINATION STRATEGY
1.PATTERN PLACEMENT: I regard patterns of different colors as blocks with different functions. Then by opening the distance between the patterns, the skylight i s i n t ro d u c e d i n t o t h e building.
2.PATTERN COMBINATION: According to the function of the building, I cut the volume to create a semioutdoor gray space as a public activity space in response to the subtropical climate.
I observe the richness and rationality of space through two vertical sections.
X-AXIS SECTION
3.PATTERN CHANGE MODE:
CONCLUSION 2: The richness of the space produced by multiple patterns (C ,D , E ) is stronger than that produced by a single pattern (A, B) Y-AXIS SECTION
By changing the cutting position of the pattern and slightly changing the position of the pattern, I draw different patterns as the raw material for pixel motion.
CONCLUSION 3: I found that because the stacking direction of the volume is parallel to this section direction, it can be considered as a section when placing the pattern position. PLAN
Finally, I once again confirmed the above conclusion on the spatial richness judgment from the plane. 4.FINAL FORM: F i n a l l y, I a p p l i e d t h e mechanism described in STEP 4 (pattern pixelation, pixel motion, layer stacking) to get the basic shape of the building.
FINAL CONCLUSION:Through the above three-dimensional model experiment and comparative analysis, I can know that the space generated by the mechanism of STEP 4 can indeed greatly increase the richness of space. I choose the best model in the experiment, and adjust the model again according to the space function according to the principle of pattern placement (CONCLUSION 3:it can be considered as a section when placing the pattern position). 4

SPATIAL STRATEGY
SITE STRATEGY
After dividing the building's functional blocks, I tried to design the space from the section. First of all, I divide the functional blocks of the building into two categories: spaces with strong publicity and spaces with strong privacy. Most public spaces need to induce interaction. Therefore, I screened out the more public space as the follow-up research object.
1.According to the outline of the site, cut the building block and leave the entrance and exit of the building.

Online Website
The following diagram shows the process of selecting a work environment and furniture equipment using the computer side website. First users need to register and log in to our website. The website provides locations nearby where public office space is available. The user generates a floor plan suitable for use by entering personalized data from the left interface. The floor plan will show the mark of the work seat suitable for the user, and the user can choose the seat according to their preference. Custom furniture will be in the next step. After all the steps are completed, the user can pay for his order.

BIRDVIEW OF THE FLOATING SCHOOL

le ot r,
ENCLOSURE: Unlike traditional land-based schools, floating schools need flexible enclosure methods to cope with various environmental changes. For example, in the children's pick-up platform, use canvas to enclose the top surface. The stretchable canvas can not only flexibly enclose a semiopen space, but also correspond to different weather environments.
PICK-UP PLATFORM
BOUNDARY:With the strength of Tanka culture, demand for commodity transactions between land and water has increased. In order to facilitate commodity trading, structures on land began to stretch out to the water, and the straight forbidden line between land and water began to be broken. There are many interactions between Tanka people and the people on the land on the border. For example, the floating market, the cultural promotion of Danjia, etc.

BIRDVIEW OF MARINE RESEARCH AND EDUCATION BASE
STREAMLINE: Marine researchers do research in the laboratory unit, and tourists observe their research life on the skywalk. They interact with each other but the streamline do not interfere.
LABORATORY UNIT
ENCLOSURE : The outdoor river is enclosed by the swimming pool and leads vertically to the lecture hall. People can feel the impact of water on different activities in space.
SWIMMING POOL
BOUNDARY:The structures on the water and on the land have been integrated. The boundary between water and land has been blurred, so that people will inadvertently wander in the water and land space.
