It is indeed a pleasure to be working with the Feige family and the excellent set of bulls they will be bringing to town on March 28th. This set of bulls are definitely worth the drive to go through. Big, stout, hairy bulls that are thick and deep and the cowboy kind! Performance cattle with a maternal base to them is what you will find at Double F Cattle Co, the kind that makes Angus the utility breed! The pen is once again anchored by the Strongbow calves being the largest sire group, unfortunately he was lost last summer. The Venom, Cash Advance, Earnhardt, Legal are well represented in the bull pen this year offering some outcross genetics. Knuckles, the home raised Seedstock son has an impressive set to be evaluated. On offer will be the first set of Sting calves, Sting hit the scene in 2017 as a bull calf at side of his powerful dam and was purchased by Double F Cattle Co for $52,000 for a 1/2 interest. His calves will definitely catch your eyes! John Feige
inducted into the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame John Feige ‘Dad’ will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame on April 18, 2020. His passion for cattle started at an early age helping his parents Bruno and Erma operate Parkvista Hereford Farm. Through the years, they established a very successful business exhibiting their Horned Hereford cattle throughout Canada. Dad was a passionate promoter and advocate for not only the Hereford breed but the Canadian Cattle Industry. He had leadership roles on many boards and committees and always dealt fairly and honestly with everyone. Dad has been rewarded for his hard work with many achievements... 1991 Saskatchewan Stock Growers Cattleman of the Year (Life time member), 1995 Saskatchewan Livestock Association Honor Award as well as the Honor Roll Awards for the Northwest Hereford Association, Canadian Hereford Association, Prince Albert Exhibition, Saskatoon Fall Fair, and Prince Albert 4-H Regional. There was always time made for volunteering in his community of Parkside Sask. He was founding member and president of the Parkside Lions Club, founding member of the Parkside Demo Derby which has been running for 30+ years, active member Parkside Lutheran Church, active member Parkside Curling Club and Wild Rose 4H Beef Club leader. Dad always had a smile on his face that made everyone feel at ease. He made many lasting friendships through the years in the cattle industry and always enjoyed sitting and visiting. Family was very important to dad and though the years he was there for support and guideness. Dad taught me to led by example and treat everyone with respect. He believed it took a firm handshake and your word to make a successful business man. I would like to thank all the people involved in Dad’s Hall of Fame Induction. Our family will celebrate this honor and know he is looking down and smiling.
