ADVISOR: Peng Yang ( yangpeng97@ruc.edu.cn )

INDIVIDUAL WORK: Xinran Wang

CLASSIFICATION: Large-Scale Landscape Project

AREA: 63 9 ha

SITE: Fujian, China

TIME: 08/2022- 11/2022

Statement

The site is located on the southern coast of China and is highly affected by wave erosion. Most of the flood protection systems on the site are hard revetments, so the ecological sustainability is weak. This project removes the hard revetment and wave walls, allowing the mangrove seeds behind the original revetment to migrate with the tide to the shore. At the same time, by shaping the topography, the seeds can take root, creating a resilient natural wave barrier and improving the local ecology.
