#
are keywords preceded by a sign which aims
to facilitate people in social media to find pictures on the same topic. However, hashtags may be used to get followers, likes and may not necessarily match the description of the image. In fact, depending on the link between text (hashtag) and image the interpretation of the photograph may change dramatically. In this photobook, I will explore the intertwine between text and image in the construction of meaning by assigning hashtags that do not constitute a literal description of the photographs. Changes in meaning are also explored by creating a new image (i.e., collage). Finally, I also invite the viewer to play with the meaning through completing a series of rebus based on the new meaning assigned to the images.
