SELMA CYCLEPATHS
Raising Funds For A Cure For Multiple Sclerosis
The spring/summer riding season began April 6. Every Saturday SAG supported rides starting at Thanksgiving Elementary School, just down the road from Flowers Plantation, are planned and any cyclist in the community is welcome . There are always 3 distances to choose from and several different pace groups (12 – 18+ mph). Routes utilize RWGPS (ride with GPS), so you don’t have to worry about getting lost. We generally ride about 15 miles to a rest stop, where the volunteer SAG (support and gear) welcomes you with water to refill your bottles.
After refilling your water bottles you can choose to ride back to Thanksgiving Elementary School or ride the planned loops (generally about 15 miles or so) and revisit the rest stop for another water refill. Routes are different each week and the distances increase from 30 – 100 miles. We ride to places like Selma, Shoeheel, Micro, Middlesex, Buckhorn Reservoir, Wendell, Pine Level, Wilson’s Mills, Kenly, Smithfield and the
The Selma Cyclepaths, a cycling club dedicated to raising funds for a cure for MS, and to promoting healthy lifestyles through providing cycling opportunities for its members, kicked off its Spring Riding Season with a potluck at the Dr Watson Inn Pavilion March 17th. At the potluck they presented their upcoming ride schedule for April through August, and some fundraising opportunities for team members planning to ride in the BikeMS Historic New Bern Ride September 7th and 8th. Good food and fellowship abounded. A great time was had by all.
Whirligig Park in Wilson. Afterwards many Cyclepaths choose to enjoy pizza at the La Cucina Italiana or a quick hot dog at the Grocery Bag. We’d love to have you join us!
Interested? Please email Selma.cyclepaths@gmail.com and we’ll add your name to our weekly ride email, so you know start time and route for the week (start time varies with the weather).
This year we have created Selma Cyclepath t shirts. We ask that all regular riders pay $25 dues to offset the cost of supplies. Anyone paying dues by May 15th and completing a t shirt order will receive their t shirt at no cost. Again – please email us if you are interested. We are a fun, welcoming group. We sure hope you’ll consider joining us!

About The Band
The Embers are widely considered a musical MARVEL and have laid the groundwork for what has become known as ‘Beach Music’ in the Carolinas, Virginias, the gulf coast region of North America and every beach in between. The Embers consider the genre of Beach Music as “music with a memory” and have been creating lasting memories since its inception in 1958. There are many bands or groups today yet few that are considered a musical institution. The Embers have solidified their position as a thriving musical entity leaving their mark on listeners for decades.

COMMUNITY SAFETY DIVISION FLOWERS PLANTATION
We hope that by now you've noticed the transition from the previous security company to our very own Community Safety Division, which was implemented on January 1st. This change was meticulously planned to elevate the level of service provided to all our residents and guests to maintain a safe community.
If I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet, please accept my apologies. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to connect and listen to the comments from our residents. Allow me to take a moment to introduce myself, as well as the goals and responsibilities of the Community Safety Division. Before joining Flowers Plantation, I served as a full-time Police Officer for 18 years, culminating in several years as Chief of Police. My professional background also includes EMS and firefighting, with a total of 20 years of experience in these fields.
Throughout my career, I've been deeply involved in training fellow officers and spearheading communityoriented patrol initiatives. I currently hold an Advanced Law Enforcement Certification and am a State Certified Specialized Law Enforcement Instructor, where I have the privilege of educating both new cadets and seasoned officers on a variety of topics. Bringing the passion of community oriented patrol methods, and working with the community to solve problems, I am very excited to be at Flowers Plantation.
During my initial months at Flowers, I made it a priority to familiarize myself with residents and business owners, seeking to identify ways to enhance community well-being. Through conversations and observations, the Community Safety Division was established, bringing our security operations in-house to ensure the highest quality of service delivery. I deliberately opted not to label our team as mere "Security," instead assembling a diverse group with expertise spanning law enforcement, security, EMS, and firefighting. The result is a team equipped to offer an array of programs and services previously unavailable to our community. We strive to offer greater coverage, and a higher level of service to all of our residents with an open line of communication.
Presently, the Flowers Community Safety Division provides free car seat checks and installations, conducted by a State Certified Child Passenger Seat Technician. We are also certified in CPR/AED/First Aid and carry AEDs in our
vehicles for emergency response. As a CPR instructor, I am committed to offering certification courses to residents, empowering them with life-saving skills. Our focus extends beyond traditional security concerns to encompass overall safety, including patrolling for suspicious activity, trespassing prevention, and vigilance in addressing potential hazards in common areas. Staff also carries various items in the vehicles to service our residents, including jump starts for dead vehicle batteries and other items to assist our residents in times of need.
Furthermore, our officers ensure the safe operation and registration of golf carts, facilitating enjoyment of our golf cart-friendly roads. Looking ahead, we aim to introduce educational courses on topics such as fraud prevention and holiday safety, catering to diverse interests and age groups within our community. Should you encounter myself or any member of our team, please don't hesitate to reach out. We welcome your feedback, questions, and concerns. You can reach our team at 919-500-8476, which also accepts text messages for your convenience.
I am immensely grateful for the privilege of serving this community and its residents. I firmly believe in a communitybased patrol system and pledge to remain accessible for any assistance you may require.

At Subliminal Massage Body & Energy Therapy, I offer massage, Reiki, and other types of bodywork and energy work. I customize each session for each client. I enjoy working as a team with my client every time we see each other, because your needs naturally vary from session to session. My goal is to make my work, physical and mental pain relief, as accessible as possible for all. I strive for a low anxiety atmosphere. There are never any extra charges for any modality or technique that I offer. My clients deserve the best that I have to offer without worrying about the mystery math of add-ons and upsells.
I enjoy accommodating sensory, emotional, and spiritual needs, such as using 100% cotton sheets with no microfiber for an autistic client, massaging in a side-lying position so that a client with PTSD can see the door at all times, and using various alternative techniques to massage a modest client fully clothed. There is an elevator in the building, my table is electric and can be lowered nearly to the floor for ease of access, and has a weight-bearing capacity of over 1,000 lbs.
