THE FACE OF FLOWERS PLANTATION
REID STEPHENSON
Reid Stephenson's hard work and dedication have been pivotal to the success of Flowers Plantation. His unwavering commitment and tireless efforts consistently go above and beyond. We are deeply grateful for his contributions, which truly make a difference within the Flowers community.
Maurice Reid Stephenson grew up on his family's farm located on Highway 50/42 in Garner, N.C. He attended Cleveland High School and N.C. Wesleyan College, where he earned a B.A. degree in accounting in 1983. In 1999, he received a mechanical engineering degree from I.C.S. in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He became a N.C. real estate broker in 1996 and is currently the Broker in Charge for Flowers Plantation Information and Sales, LLC.
Reid's real estate career began with the development of his family's farm, which transformed into a community named “Chadbourne," spanning 130 acres with 126 homesites, with his family's home being dedicated as the community center. The development of Chadbourne started in 2000 and continued until he began developing 456 lots at Flowers Plantation, including Mill Creek West, North Farm, and North Farm Cottages.
While developing at Flowers Plantation, Reid also began a community near Chadbourne called "Fieldstone Manor," which contains 73 homes. Upon completing these subdivisions, he joined Flowers Plantation on August 26, 2011. Reid began in accounting and worked through all divisions, eventually becoming CEO in 2020. Today, he remains the CEO and the face of Flowers Plantation.
In 2020, after 48 years, Reid moved from Chadbourne to Flowers Plantation. When he’s not eating or sleeping, Reid is usually working on presentations, TV interviews, and public speaking. Reid is married to Patricia Lee Roberts, they reside in Sweetgrass at Flowers Plantation with their “fur baby,” Ty, an 8-year-old Australian Terrier. The couple will celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary on August 30, 2024.
Reid’s journey from a family farm to leading a thriving community is a testament to his dedication and vision. His work shapes the future of Flowers Plantation, ensuring it remains a vibrant and welcoming place for generations to come.
"Reid Stephenson is the most dedicated employee ever to have "graced" the doors of the Flowers Plantation offices. I cannot imagine the business operation without his guidance and assurance each day. We are most fortunate to have him."

HALLOWEEN SAFETY & FUN
AT FLOWERS PLANTATION
As the leaves turn golden and the crisp autumn air fills Flowers Plantation, families gear up for one of the most exciting times of the year: Halloween. This enchanting season brings not only a cascade of pumpkins and spooky decorations but also the need for some important safety considerations. Here are some tips and tricks to ensure your family enjoys a safe and delightful Halloween.
Costume Creativity and Safety:
When it comes to costumes, creativity is key, but safety should always come first. Choose costumes that are bright and reflective to make sure your little goblins are visible to motorists after dark. Consider using face paint instead of masks, which can obstruct vision. Also, ensure costumes are short enough to prevent tripping, and add reflective tape for extra visibility.
Trick-or-Treating Trail:
Plan a trick-or-treating route in advance within Flowers Plantation. Stick to well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk. If no sidewalk is available, walk at the far edge of the roadway facing traffic. Young children should always be accompanied by an adult. If older children are going alone, plan and review a route that's acceptable to you and agree on a specific time when they should return home.
Candy Check:
Once home, the sorting and checking of candy is a must. Allow your children to eat only factory-wrapped treats. Discard anything that looks tampered with or homemade unless you know the source well. This not only keeps them safe from potential allergens but also any tampered goods.
Decorations and Jack-o’-Lanterns:
Use battery-operated candles or glow sticks in jack-o’-lanterns instead of real flames to prevent fire hazards. Keep decorations that are easy to trip over, like cords and decorations, away from walkways.
Support from Flowers Community Safety Patrol:
This Halloween, take comfort in knowing that the Flowers Community Safety Patrol will be actively monitoring the neighborhood. They will be present to ensure a secure environment for all trick-or-treaters. Their presence helps deter any unsafe activities and provides immediate assistance if needed, ensuring a safer experience for everyone in Flowers Plantation. Celebrate knowing that our community looks out for each other, especially on such a spirited night!
With these tips, your family can enjoy a frightfully fun and safe Halloween at Flowers Plantation. Let the spooky celebrations begin!
