This Is Our Now! Dear Fashion Disruptors, Out with the old and in with the new. Seems to be a statement we are forced to consider at this very moment. Life is changing. Fashion is changing. Our president is changing, thank the heavens! It feels like a rebirth, right? I'm embracing it one day at a time. Although, I personally can't make your 2020 better then it has been so far, I hope this issue can encourage you to start thinking about going into the year 2021 with a bang. You can start with updating what's in your closet, ReStyle, ReSell & ReCycle (Pg.64.) What I like about this issue is that I didn't over think it. I just let it come together very organically. Our cover shoot was shot in Los Angeles. On the cover comedic duo Young Ezee and Natalie Odell open up about navigating, the three elements of success, Love, Laughter & Vision (Pg.42.) At a time like this we could all use a little necessary laughter, I choose this duo to grace the cover of this issue because not only are they entertaining on a daily basis, but they are a

reflection of how social media can change your life as well as inspire the world. They are NOW and the future of content creators. So sit back, relax and enjoy the issue. There's absouletly nothing else you have to do. Except, maybe - be inspired.

Candle Co.

SOME SAY DIAMONDS ARE A GIRLS BESTFRIEND, THEY FORGET TO MENTION THE CANDLES. Interview By Angel Neal Inspired by Fashion and its iconic footprint, Fashion Scents candles are carefully handcrafted and made with love. Established in Summer 2020 by Kelson Sanders, a working full-time fashion stylist and entrepreneur from Atlanta, Georgia. I got to catch up with the owner herself at her Atlanta home office. I want my brand to be innovative and creative I don’t want to simply just sell candles, I want to sell an experience. I reference fashion magazines and mood boards for a lot of my inspiration. KELSON, ON UNIQUENESS, PROCESS OF MAKING THE CANDLES AND BEST WAY TO BURN FASHION SCENTS.

My products are unique because I use 100% organic ingredients when making my candles. I also hand pour them myself from the comfort of my home. The best way to burn our candles is f i r s t t o u s e a w ic k t r i m m e r t o t r i m y o u r w i c k , w e recommend you do not burn your candles longer than 4 hours at a time. Burning a candle too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick. I feel like, there’s never been a candle line centered around fashion. I want to be the first to offer something that’s never been done like this before. The part I most enjoy about the candle making process is the creativity of the p h o t os h o o t s . Young Ezee & Natalie Odell

Have the three elements of Success

Love. Laughter & Vision Photographed By Jorde Diomande

Stylist & Creative Direction Angel Neal Stylist Assistant Dontaya Bobb Interviews By Alicia M. Burks & Angel Neal

Anyone who’s spent time scrolling Instagram has probably come across Young Ezee and Natalie Odell’s videos. With a 3+ million and growing following, its clear the comedic duo has the recipe for winning on YouTube , Social Media and in real life. In a world where so many claim to be social media “influencer’s” Young Ezee and Natalie actual influence, on and off the camera. They use their growing celebrity status to speak up for creators taking their power back and are active advocates for the LGBTQ community. A natural boss, Ezee admits that she was good at telling people what to do behind the camera.

42 Disrupshion

Consequently, with time and repetitive action she developed into being great at being in front of it. Both are a force all by themselves but together they make eachother better. What do you think made Natalie Odell and Young Ezee successful in the social media world? Is it their ability to quickly adapt to the ever-changing functionality of social platforms? We’d agree thats one thing that sets them apart. They may have got their start targeting and marketing to the LGBTQ community, but please advise do not box them in. With product lines in the works, more content and scripts on the way, let us take a look at where Young Ezee and partner Natalie Odell are today, and what they are planning for the future.

On Love How did you two meet? Natalie: I actually DM’d Ezee asking her if she wanted to collaborate. That was the beginning of our work and our best friendship. Ezee: Yeah, that was in 2016. I immediately responded and everything was history. As far as we know, Natalie, Young Ezee initiated the start of your relationship? So, what did she say to convince you to say yes to intimacy? (Meaning a close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship.) Natalie: So, basically, it wasn’t necessarily anything that she specifically said. But I feel like we both felt it was something there between us. I was feeling we both knew what we had for each other, even though she was the one who, you know, initiated it and decided to talk about it. She said, look like I have to tell you these things, because it’s getting too hard to hide anymore. I was also feeling the same way. So at that point, it just kind of forced me to like look inside and be like, Alright, am I going to let this opportunity pass me by? Or should I give it a try? Here we are. What attracted you most to one another? Ezee: For me, it was definitely her personality, the way that she carried herself and how Natalie was so driven. We shared the same interests and you know, our goals were pretty much the same. In addition to that, the fact that I felt like she was my spirit animal and soulmate, already. So, you know, with everything that we shared in common and the way she was so motivated, kind of attracted me. And on top of top of that, she fine as hell!

Natalie: For me, honestly, I was so intrigued by Ezee’s personality, I thought she was just so outgoing, and hilarious. She just has an energy and happiness that is honestly infectious. Just being around her made me feel happy. So I was pretty much obsessed about being around her as best friends. Like I invited her everywhere. I wanted her there because I knew the moment was gonna be better with her around. Young Ezee, do you ever feel like men are intimidated by you? Ezee: Oh no, not at all. I feel like they always try to test me sometimes. Because, you know, I am a woman with a beautiful girl. So they just try to test it, and I just think it’s funny. So I don’t think they’re intimidated. I just feel like they think it’s actually easier to get to me sometimes. But it’s not. I feel like they actually respect at the same time. I understand that things change, and people change. However, right now where do the two of you see your relationship going in the next five years? Natalie: I say I feel like we’re just gonna be more successful and grow way closer. Ultimately, I think the strongest business partner lovers ever. Ezee: Yeah, I feel like I can’t ever get rid of her. You know, no matter how hard I try.

NATALIE ODELL BEAUTY & BRAINS

Moving from Miami to Los Angeles really pushed Natalie Odell’s entertainment dreams into full gear. In less than three years the social media socialite has generated a loyal following and a natural talent for being in front of the camera . The digital influencer says her aspirations go far beyond being in front of the camera. So don’t box her in. She tells us she loves to write and produce content in addition to acting. It’s been her passion since she was little girl. On Being an Influencer I love to be able to be an artistic person. I have these ideas in my head and I get to share them with the world. Sharing these ideas makes the “influencer” title all worth it. What worked well for me is picking a niche and staying true to my brand. Consistency is key in gaining momentum. So Young Ezee and I are always creating constantly. The biggest misconception about being an influencer is that it’s super easy. Essentially, you are your own production company. I’ve had to learn through my own trial and errors on brand marketing to push myself forward.

On Paying It Forward & Advice for anyone interested in becoming a YouTube Influencer. I feel as though I pay it forward any chance I get. I pay it forward by being a sounded board for those interested in becoming an influencer or those looking for advice on content creation. I use my experiences and let that fuel the grind of being a creator. Those who want to start a YouTube channel, the best advice I could give them is to, just do it! But make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons and not just for the money. Have fun with it. On Segueing Into The Beauty Industry On my beauty and fashion personal Youtube my supporters get a front row seat into some of my hobbies. Theres everything from makeup tutorials to beauty hacks. I’m also working on a natural hair care line thats in the works, so that will be also something fun to share with my supporters.

On Laughter & Vision Young Ezee, when did you first realize that you were funny? Ezee: I was born funny. You just kind of knew I was the funny one in my family growing up. I think no matter what language you speak, the one way you can really reach a person is through laughter and well food of course. Natalie, what if one day Young Ezee woke up and lost her sense of humor? How would that make you feel? Natalie: Thats a really good question. Yet its a simple answer, I would inspire her again! We understand how hard building a brand as a content creator can be. When did you get started and how long have you been in the online space? What platform did you use to gain visibility? Can you describe for us the quality and the feeling you have about that first upload? Ezee: We started literally a couple years ago just pushing out videos and content. On Instagram and YouTube. Our passion grew larger as we started seeing a return on it. Natalie started back in 2017 and I started in 2016 taking it seriously on Instagram doing comedy sketches. My first viral video made me feel extremely accomplished and excited. Natalie: Seriously, ever since my first upload, I couldn’t stop it was like a drug. I was just addicted to making people laugh. What advice would you give anyone who wants to start a YouTube Channel or Vlog? We’d tell them to get out of their own way, just do it. The money will come, but do it for the right reason, for the passion and the artistry. You hear a lot about niching in the content creator space. What is your niche, and do you feel it is important? What is the breakdown of your target audience?

We’d like to think we do a good job navigating comedy and romance spaces. Our show the scholarship plays on those elements. Our target audience honestly can’t be boxed in because we feel as though we are relatable to many people. That’s the beauty of comedy it connects us all. Young Ezee, have you ever felt pressured to choose a certain aspect of your identity (one side of yourself over the other,) in order to grow your platform, your brand, and your business? Honestly, I did feel a little bit pressured back in late 2017 to where it was like alright, maybe I’m going to be stereotyped. I was putting out a lot of LBTQ friendly content. But then it was like I can be true to myself and still give and still give different versions of myself. Theres many layers to me as a creative. Natalie, with everything that is going on in the world right now regarding race and this idea of what “black” is and is not. What are your thoughts? (Because theres often disturbing comments from people, including blacks, who claim that individuals born from interracial relationships should not be considered black) How does that make you feel? I honestly think that it’s time for a change, I think its sad that some people still think and feel this way. It’s 2020 but with everything going on in this world we’ve all realized we have a long way to go! I’m very much black! Although I was born mixed, but if I’m doing a survey checking off boxes of what race I am, they would very much consider me black and not white. I embrace everything I am and am proud of my heritage. Any last words for the culture? Be yourself. Smile more, laugh more and work hard.

YOUNG EZEE

Katy Perry said it best “California Girls are undeniable.” We’d agree that’s Young Ezee California through and through. She gets joy from making others laugh and smile on a daily basis but its her natural talent of just being herself that has millennials falling in love with her worldwide. Her one million plus following would agree Young Ezee is a powerhouse of creativity, and she has no plans on slowing down. We look forward to her continuous plot to bring comedy, awareness to the LGBTQ+ community social issues and just an overall infectious smile that brings joy across our news feed. On Navigating The Industry Social media has changed my life. I’m thankful and grateful I’m able to put smiles on people faces. The most important thing you can do is conquer your fears and go for the goal, it can be tough but you have to do it. I’ve felt in the past the industry is not open to all, but I’ve learned to put my pride aside and just be the best version of me I can be. By prioritizing and executing your to-do’s, you can accomplish all things.

Advice for the next generation of content creators? Utilize your 24hrs in a day and follow your dreams! You can’t let other’s stop you, do more each day to reach your goals. Make sure you value your time and nurture relationships, not just your family but especially business ones. These are the times to create connections that can possibly last a lifetime. Honestly, the only way to control your own destiny is to be your own boss, but you have to start. On What’s Next For Her I value my time and that of others, so I plan to stay ready at all times for whatever may come my way. With that being said, our fans get to dive deeper into our personal lives with our personal YouTube channels. Natalie and I are writing and working on more content for “The Scholarship” possibly turning it into a movie or a second season. My mind is an unlimited catalogue of material so there will just continue to be more content produced. There is no limit. I’m not just an actor or an Instagram girl. I’m writing, editing and producing, the world will know my name.

EDIT YOUR CLOSET

Stylist Tip

Make an effort to discover new brands. Don't put your wardrobe in a style rut. Don't get attached to and comfortable with certain shops. Allow your wardrobe to evolve. 64 Disrupshion

As another year is approaching we're already writing down our goals on how we'll manage our time better, be nicer and no doubt better dressed in 2021. Buying new stuff has got to be easier and quicker than changing our shopping behaviors, right? If you’re going to edit your closet, you’re going to need a good deal of time and a plan. Have you actually gone through your wardrobe or chest of drawers and picked out the clothes you know you will never wear? Now is the perfect time to completely detox. So do it your way, but to make life easier try our method: restyle, resell and recycle!

1

2

3

RESTYLE

RESELL

RECYCLE

What do I own too much of? Depending on your answer, go ahead and list it. Reselling can be a great way to clear up your crammed wardrobe, get rid of last season's fashion and make some extra cash while you’re at it. You can sell items that either trending right now, or develop a niche (regardless of current trends). Right now especially, many of us have ended up with extra time or the need for some extra cash, which might spur you on to list clothes for sale. Giving our clothes a new lease on life in someone else’s wardrobe is one way we can reduce our carbon footprint.

Does this suit me? Compliment my shape? Fit (now – not when you’ve lost 10lbs!)? Work with my current lifestyle? Have I worn it in the last 12 months? If the answers to these questions are no, then start the recycle pile now. If a piece of clothing doesn’t make you feel confident and comfortable, it has no place in your life. H&M has a garment collection program where they collect used garments and exchange you get a store coupon. In addition, consider donating them to your local secondhand shop or charity. With this method, everybody wins. You get to clear some space in your closet, and someone in need can find something new.

As you wear more of what you already own, you will spend less time feeling frustrated and exclaiming: “I have nothing to wear!!' The goal is to feel good in the things that you already have in your closet, just rework them. Accessories can give an old outfit a whole new lease of life so play around with shoes, belts, bags and jewelery. Consider switching your dress to a skirt as summer transitions to autumn/winter. Layer chunky knits over it or layer both a roll neck underneath and a relaxed thinner pullover or sweater over the top of the dress for added texture and depth to your look. Invest your current pieces get things fixed in your local area, from a great seamstress to shoe and handbag restoration companies. It is worth spending a little bit of money to get things fixed rather than re-buying the same thing time and time again.

Q&A: ANGEL NEAL

You have to figure out what your style is now and where you want to take it.

Our founder opens up about her closet editing process and tips.

ON HER EDITING PROCESS I like to set aside a good 3-5 days to properly edit my closet. I create an itinerary of what I want to work on each day.

HER TOP TIP FOR EDITING YOUR CLOSET You have to figure out what your style is now and where you want to take it. Restyle realistic looks, resell the old and recycle fun pieces for a great cause.

HER FAVORITE FALL STAPLE It's all about the coat. I love a statement coat. Invest in the perfect coat, comfty and edgy.

ON HER FAVORITE STORE TO RECYCLE

The Goodwill is a great place to recycle your clothing. It feels good to give back.

PUT BLACK FASHION ON A PEDESTAL DESIGNED BY ANGEL NEAL Black culture inspires the runway. This is a statement that is near and dear to the heart of our mission. Black creators push fashion on a daily basis. While several iconic trends, both past and present, stem from African American culture, the Black community remains underrepresented and often uncredited for their invaluable contributions to the fashion industry.

More than a #hashtag Exploding down runways, in stores, online and on Parisian streets— everywhere you look — style shaped by the African Diaspora is ubiquitous in fashion today for people of all colors, races and creeds. So we'd have to say in fact we'd like to shout it out!!! Grab the sweatshirt and add this statement sweatshirt to your fall wardrobe or purchase it for the black creator in your life. We will not be overlooked. PUT BLACK FASHION ON A PEDESTAL! PERIOD.
