Some of the opaque fins on the facade acts as sunshades in summer, machine ventilation mainly applies here, blows fresh cool air into the building and exhaust hot air out from the roof.
The facade fins allows winter sun to come in, machine blows warm air into the building, radiation heatings are embeded on concrete floor to heat the space. Concert hall still mainly needs cooling.

FEDRATION SQUARE EAST EXTENSION, THIS PROJECT USES AN ANOLOGY OF BAMBOO FOREST TO CONNECT THE CBD FRINDGE WITH THE YARRA RIVER BANK, PROVIDING A SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM BUSY CITY LIFE TO THE RIVER.
DESIGN STATEMENT
The vast flatness of city, the hard boundaries the flat facades, lead to the loss of vivacious of human sensibility, and produce homogeneous, uninfected people. Such homogenisation deeply permeats people living in melbourne. Yet nature has the power to restore these human sensitivities. With the site located at the vivid yarra bank and the flat city frindge, the intention is to create a building that merges artificial environments and natural environments, to counteract the homogenisation of the city, A illusion of artificial and nature, providing a fluid activities and relationship between the surrounding environments.

WABI-SABI STOOL
INDIVIDUAL EXPERIMENTAL FURNITURE
Can 2.8mm fabric-like thin material supports human weight?
Material: Arcylic Size: 450Wx450Dx430H Weight: 1.9kg
The Wabi-sabi Stool was completely made by hand, out of a single 2.8 mm acrylic sheet, bending, weaving and interlocking under the heat of a heat gun. Such thin, paper like material seems impossible to function as a stool, yet its structural possibility was pushed to a limit through weaving that a grown-up can sit steadily on it. The surface was treated in order to glow and become one with the light. The ephemeral and fabric-like illusion contrasts with its incredible structure strength. Endless practice was made to celebrate its aesthetic value of imperfection and transience.
