LESSONS & WISDOM GAINED FROM 2020

The Rising of the Phoenix

Your Journey from 2020, to 2021 and Beyond

BY TRACEY CREMINS an 1nzpired Kiwi Publication

Acknowledgement This book was lovingly downloaded, from Spirit, on Tuesday 3rd November 2020. It came like a bolt out of nowhere, yet felt too special and so perfectly right for the moment. Once the channels opened, there was no stopping the flow until Spirit determined it was complete. This book was never meant for me, and me alone, but to share with others who also may have been challenged throughout the year. My wish for you is to review the year 2020 with an open Mind and an open Heart. To take from 2020 what you need for your highest good; and to leave in the past, that which no longer serves you. May these words and exercises increase the Light in your life, and make your Journey that much more rewarding.

With Love and Gratitude,

Tracey

2020 Vision

2020 – What a year it’s been!

It’s had its ups and downs; it’s politics and pandemics; its fears and loss of freedoms and rights. Many have experienced deaths of those close, but so very, very distant with limitations on international and domestic travel, and also restrictions on numbers at gatherings. There’s been losses and gains; and amongst all of this there’s been change – significant change.

Looking back on 2020, and reflecting on what was; what might have been; and even what is yet to come, it’s a great time to review the life lessons and the wisdom gained from such a whirlwind that commenced as a new decade and new opportunity for all.

As many of us willingly say goodbye to 2020, there is much it has taught and shown us. There is a lot that has engaged our curiosity, as we start questioning the purpose and deeper meanings of this life experience, we are a part of.

So, for now, it’s time to grab your luggage from 2020, and from the years and decades before that, and as large and cumbersome as this baggage is, you will sit somewhere quietly as you open case by case; to reflect on the lessons; to look at it from another viewpoint, and to ponder “where to from here.”

So, where do we start?

Firstly, let's look at the meaning of 2020 Vision. You may have heard this term before and I feel it’s been paramount over the last 12 months.

2020 Vision: Measures visual acuity. The clarity or sharpness of vision measured at a distance of 20 feet away, without correction (glasses, contact lenses etc).

So, what we’re going to do is use this analogy to firstly look at the year that was 2020.

Now, as we near the end of 2020, I’d like you to join me in unpacking the gifts that this year has given you – although they may not have appeared this way at the time!

So, go on, grab your baggage – yep, all of it!! I don’t care how big or small it is, and come and join me in farewelling 2020 with wisdom; understanding; love and growth.

02

Clearing out the Crap

First, we’ll start by looking at the “shitty” moments of 2020, cause they’re probably still taking up space in your mind and your luggage. Let’s get rid of these first so that you can really align yourself with a fresh and vibrant start to 2021.

Open your luggage and pull out some of the crappy stuff. That’s right – just do it! I want you to list a minimum of five things that frustrated you; created anxiety for you; fell apart; didn’t work etc, over the last 12 months. If there’s more than five, then that’s fine. Keep noting them down until you feel you’ve cleared most, if not all of, the baggage and clutter from your mind.

Now, look at each thing noted and list why you put it in the “crappy or shitty stuff” category. Why is it there? What made it so bad? What were you hoping it would’ve looked like, or turned out like? How did it feel? What did you learn from this? How did you grow as a person? And, what part (if any) of this, do you want to place into your travel bag as you head into 2021?

WARNING:

Be careful here!

You only have one “carry-on” size travel bag to take into 2021, so you may need to leave some of it behind, or prioritise what is the most important to you. It’s time to make some important decisions. I didn’t say it would be easy – I only promise it will be worthwhile!

Now one may wonder why you would want to bring some of this stuff with you into the future, particularly when it’s in your crappy pile.

The key to this exercise is to take the things that this crappy stuff has given you. For example, it may be attributes like strength or courage to get your through a tough situation. It could be lessons such as not sweating the small stuff, or only concerning yourself with things within your control.

Trust me, if you spend the time to look deep enough; past the hurts and frustrations, you’ll find the hidden treasure from these experiences!

So, check that list again; dig a little deeper, and really discover the hidden gems that you wish to pack in your travel bag, and pop them in the carry-on, to take with you into 2021.

That may have been confronting for you, and you may want to take a break now.

Have you got through your top shitty moments and experiences of 2020?

If not, then take a break anyway, but come back to complete this work, or at least until you feel you’ve reached the point of emptying out and dissecting the challenges of 2020.

03

Gratitude for the Great

Now let’s take a look at the special moments of 2020.

Open your old luggage again, and start dragging out some of the good stuff. What were those moments and memories? And, why do you put them in the special or rewarding category?

I want you to do the same exercise as you did before. List a minimum of five special moments from 2020, more if you have them, and answer why you put them in this category.

What made it good or special?

How did you feel?

What did you learn from this?

And, how did you grow as a person?

Work through each one of your moments, one at a time. Was there any special feeling associated with the experience?

Now comes the task of looking at what you’ve listed and asking yourself which of these things, if any, do you wish to place into your travel bag, as you leave 2020 and enter 2021.

Remember, you may have already placed some stuff in there from your previous list, AND your bag is only the size of a “carry-on” travel bag.

What do you do? Do you remove anything that’s already in there?

Do you cut down either list?

Do you prioritise more?

Or do you squash it all in?

At the end of the day it’s up to you BUT remember, you want to be very selective of the stuff you leave behind AND the stuff you take with you! Ask yourself ...

Do these items serve for your highest good?

Do they make you feel good?

Do they energise or deplete you?

Only you can decide. Don’t let anyone else influence you, as what is important to you may not be important to them, and vice versa!

Okay, so how’s that 2021 ‘carry-on’ travel bag looking?

Mentally pick it up.

How heavy is it?

Is it comfortable enought to carry with you into the New Year?

Before you move on, I want you to look at the key lessons and wisdom gained from your 2020 experiences, both good and not so good.

What have these moments taught you – about yourself; about others; about your values and beliefs?

Have some of these challenged your views; understanding; morals and values?

How do YOU differ now, to the person who started out 2020, a whole 12 months ago?

Take some time to reflect on this.

Do you like the person you are now?

How have you changed?

How has this benefitted you?

Or perhaps, how has it hindered you?

And how have you grown?

Spend some time in this space, really reflecting on whether 2020 events have altered your path.

Either way, whether you feel it was a positive year or not, you as a person will have had some key lessons and learning.

Pat yourself on your back – you survived and are now ready to face 2021 full steam ahead, with more attributes and qualities to assist your journey.

04

Dreaming of My Destination Ahh, but don’t think you’ve finished yet! Whilst your 2021 travel bag has been partially filled, you’ve still got something else to look at. Now it’s time to focus on the Dreams and Goals that you wish to achieve in 2021!

What do these look like?

What needs to happen to make these come to life?

Are there lessons from 2020 that will help you achieve these goals?

So, make a note of 2-3 goals and dreams you have for yourself in 2021. Hey, you don’t have to stop at 2 or 3, make even more if you’re really ambitious! Just remember that you don’t wish these to be so overwhelming, that they deflate you before you’ve even started!

Don’t worry if you have no idea how you’ll achieve them. Just get into the feeling of it.

How does stating your goals feel to you?

Do they excite you?

Do they light a fire inside of you?

If they do, that’s great. If not, you may need to dig a little deeper to get to the goals and dreams that really make your heart sing. If they don’t make your heart sing, then it will be too easy to let them fall away, and we don’t want that, do we?

Okay, once you’ve got these sorted, open that 2021 travel bag of yours again.

Now, how can you fit these in?

What do you need to re-prioritise?

Can you, or are you willing to, leave anything else behind?

Pop your Goals and Dreams for 2021 and beyond into your bag and close the lid.

Does it all fit?

Again, mentally pick up your travel bag.

How heavy is it?

Is it a comfortable weight for your journey ahead?

05

Goodies on the Go Finally, we will look at other things that you wish to take with you. Things that make you feel inspired; grateful; happy; motivated; supported; loved etc. Make a list of these things that you wish to have available to you as you move into 2021.

These might be things like certain apps; music; photos; books; crystals etc. These will be the pick-me-ups; the good-feels; the encouragement etc to have on hand for those times when it gets too hard, or for when you become overwhelmed.

There’s a special little pocket inside your travel bag in which you can place these items. It’s like a magical pocket that tucks away nicely, and takes up hardly any room at all. So, you can breathe a sigh of relief, as there’s no need to look at having to remove anything else in the bag in order to fit these in!

06

My Travelling Tribe Phew! Whoever would’ve thought it’d take that long to pack your travel bag? Well done!!

đ&#x;˜Š You’re almost ready to embark on the next

chapter in your life – Chapter 2021. But before you go let’s take a look at who will be going with you.

Given the work you’ve just done, there may be people that take a different flight path into 2021. Perhaps they’ll meet you there, but will take a different form of transportation, or a different route. Perhaps they’ll meet you at another destination, or perhaps they won’t.

People come into our lives for a reason; a season; a lifetime. We just don’t know for which one it is. I’m not by any means telling you to leave people behind. What I suggest you do however, is to look at the lessons and wisdom of the year 2020, and what part these people have played in your journey.

Are they supporting or hindering your growth?

What have you learnt about them, and your relationship with them over the past 12 months?

Do your goals and dreams still align?

Reflect on this and rest assured that they can come with you on your trip to 2021, if that’s what you desire.

And, if not, allow each other to move on with love and

compassion, knowing that your time together has been valuable for all involved.

Okay, now you’re ready to board Flight 2021, to the destination of your choice!

Grab your bag – knowing that all it contains is for your highest purpose, and what you’ve left behind no longer serves for this next leg of your journey.

Tuck your bag in the overhead lockers; find your seat and settle in for a smooth take-off.

And sit back, knowing that 2020 has prepared you well for your future destination.

Best Wishes & Happy New Year

THE RISING OF THE PHOENIX

Your Journey from 2020, to 2021 and Beyond

BY TRACEY CREMINS We all have a bag. We all pack differently. Some of us are travelling light. Some of us are secret hoarders who’ve never parted with a memory in our lives. I think we are called to figure out how to carry our bag to the best of our ability, how to unpack it, and how to face the mess. I think a part of growing up is learning how to sit down on the floor with all your things and figuring out what to take with you and what to leave behind. by Hanna Brencher
