PSEAD Throughout these 5 weeks, I have learnt a lot from PSEAD course and it has been an influential transition to my upcoming course. Although it took time to used to a completely different culture at first, I got a lot of assistance from tutors and peers. In previous weeks of the course, I learned to cooperate with other teammates, not just to finish a project independently but also to communicate with others in English. Moreover, I learned to compromise different ideas.

Also, this course invited many presenters in different art and design majors, whose artworks and conceptual thinking enabled us to brainstorm and to be inspired simultaneously. I was particularly inspired by one of the presenters, Teza Soe, who combined photography with feminism. I realised how hard she suffered to achieve her simple wish of feminism. Unintentionally, her thoughts led me to focus on this issue and to redefine how an artist or a designer could do this through their artworks.

Future As a jewellery designer, I hope I can create fantastic works to raise people’s attention to the issues that I am aiming for. Also, I am expecting that in my upcoming projects I can make good use of materials and combine ideas which I have learnt in this 5 weeks. Finally, I am looking forward to seeing those students who are learning here achieve their goals in years to come.

PSEAD 10 weeks have already past. Oh, really?! So quickly! The PSEAD course, which has given me a new definition to study English. Through PSEAD course, I learnt: --Cooperation, how to work with a team, which involved different major areas peers, combining different ideas after discussion, getting new inspirations and learning how to contain.

--Presentation skills, which need to prepare a presentation in each project 1-4, also can improve my spoken English and make me be confident. --Professional knowledge, we went to trips on different gallery, museums and spaces to express Art, which is help us to generate future work and cultivate art criticism. I was inspired by the Thomas Heatherwick, a genius designer. From his work, I felt passion and energy, his works look really powerful and creative, and the Rolling Bridge is my favorite one.

"Life is a gift, Experience is the beauty"

Future “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” , said by Edgar Degas. I agree with his words 100 percent. As a jewelry designer, I hope that can create pieces of works which can clearly express what I experience during a certain point in time, conveying real emotions and feelings. And through my works reveal my style and enthusiasm of contemporary art, just like Vincent Van Gogh said“I want to touch people with my art, I want them to say ‘he feels deeply, he feels tenderly.’” In addition, I aspire to use different materials in my works. In the end, I am looking forward to my upcoming course.

PSEAD

5 weeks has passed so quickly that I feel reluctant to leave. During this period,I made a lot of friends and I thought my English has greatly improved. Before this course, I was afraid to speak English with others, but now I have confidence to talk with others in English, although I do still make some mistakes, my expectations have been satisfied. In addition, this course helped me adapt to a different culture and have a new perspective of the UK.

We did two projects in this 5 weeks which allowed us to work within a group. I’m very glad that my group members were so nice. Much to my surprise, I met my undergraduate roommate’s best friend-Moria Song who was the 10 weeks student. We all thought that the world is so small sometimes. Everyone has their own speciality which was a great help to our projects and I learned a lot from them. After the PSEAD course, I’m looking forward to cooperating with others in my main subject.

Future I studied multimedia when I was an undergraduate student. I find myself fascinated to use jewellery to express my opinions, that is why I chose the contemporary jewellery course. In my upcoming course, I aspire to combine my previous major to research contemporary jewellery deeply. Also, I’m looking forward to communicating with my peers from other countries. I believe it will be a wonderful year.

PSEAD When I was still in china, I imagined that the ten weeks of PSEAD will be so long, obviously I was wrong! Because time went so fast, and I have learned a lot of skills that will help me on my MA, such as how to write a project proposal, writing a report and how to do a presentation, and other pretty significant things, such as I have learned how to cooperate with a group, share the ideas together, draw a mind map, and be confident to speak with people.

Besides, I enjoyed the time when I spent with my tutors Thomas, Anna and Celia, they are very nice and professional, and they really helped me a lot. What else?, I also enjoyed the time with my classmate, especially every time when we went on trips to London, went to gallery or museum together, it really made me happy!

Future I want to be a designer, in craft design, such as using ceramics materials for jewellery or Accessories, as I consider ceramics is not only a subject but also a useful material, and I want to create some new forms of expression and abstract colour, especially the details of my works. I believe that the 10 weeks PSEAD study will be a great help. All in all, I am also looking forward my main course in September.
