With the development of economy and the growth of population, the city of Nanning has burgeoned out into the surrounding suburbs with unprecedented speed within the past decade. In those under constructed “new suburbs”, we couldn’t help but notice a great number of large-scale campuses. These large-scale campuses which hardly pay any attention to the protection of suburb circumstances can easily deteriorated environment. (See the reducing of water body in Da-Luwn lake groups as an example.) While it is unrealistic to prevent this kinds of “campus expansion”, we can probably change the way they expand, in order to compromise between the protection of the original natural environment and the demand of new campus construction – which I call it “the humble expansion”.
ENERY BALL AN UP-TO-DATE PARTY MANUAL WINTER 2016

How many times you’ve complained about parties was ruined by phones? Yet how many times you could actually leave your phones behind? Technologies bring new lifestyle to us. Instead of trying to avoid it, perhaps its time to accept and make good use of it. As an up-to-date party manual, Energy ball here offers a new way to party with your phone. Dress up and bring your phone, get a wristband and download our APP — wait before you think these troubled you — and the party is on. The wristband would collect information such as your location, body temperature and heart rate and send them to the APP. Together with other audiences' data in a certain area, the average "emotion" was calculated and then sent to the roof. The moving pins on the roof would change their speed accordingly so more fresh air could be brought in to cool down the place if people in the area was aroused. What's more, the APP could also recommend drinks and friends to you according to your "emotion". Two moving bars could find your real-time location and bring drinks to you; the light system could tell you where to your new friends are. With interactive space and smart service, Energy ball gives you a emotion based nightclub, where the world is dancing in your own way.

The design targets at the buffer zone from dormitory area and teaching area, which locates at a corner of the campus of Beijing Jiaotong University. The site possesses good scenery with green land by its sides. Based on the conditions mentioned above, a continuous ramp around the building was designed to create a close connection between dormitory area, greenbelt, and teaching area. It not only provides convenience to students who need to walk through here, but also attracts people to wander around, which turns outdoor space into a kind of stage. In addition, based on the contradiction between the restrictions of the size and the needs of student activities, I raised up the audience hall to create an activity square at the bottom of it. Meanwhile, we exploited the roof platform so as to maximize the outdoor activity space and meet the demand of students.

GROUP WORK
The project is focusing on variable acoustical qualities of contemporary performance spaces. Concert halls represent a unique design opportunity as their geometrical features and proportions are directly entwined with their acoustical qualities. Adjustable reverberation system (ARS) challenges the static notion of these spaces and offers a dynamic physical boundary to fine-tune the audio experience. The ARS is composed of a systematic arrangement of moving units where each kinetic unit consists of sets of varied length arms and acoustic panels. The arms are controlled by a single motor that adjusts the unit to various configurations. As the unit opens and closes, the angle of the face panels change, and adjust the reflected sound waves accordingly to minimize the sound energy loss. The ARS can also help to avoid unintended sound concentration, echo as well as sound shadow, and creates acoustic environments that is suitable for a wide range of musical performances in a single space.

With the explosive development of contemporary society, cities extend to the suburbs rapidly. On the one hand, a large number of high-rise buildings enrich the city's skyline. On the other hand, this expansion greatly reduces the free use of public space for residents. People living in cities are becoming indifferent and daily communication between neighbors is becoming much rarer. Internally, however, everyone is eager to get involved in a variety of activities with friends, neighbors, and even strangers. After all, people are social animals. According to the above phenomenon, the project is trying to create a spontaneous gathering and communication space, making it possible for a variety of activities to occur naturally.

What is the relationship between space and space? What is the possibility of the combination between spaces? What is the focus of the spatial arrangement? What is the order for space development? Facing the above questions, we firstly discussed the basic types of space, based on the 3Ă—3 grids. These simple geometric figures represent the relationship between space and environment. Individual grids are either in a corner, or in rotary twists and turns, either intermingle with each other, or encircle each other. Once the individual space is duplicated in sequence, interesting aspects emerge. This is also the most primitive and effective order to control space development.
OLD HANDICRAFT & NEW BUSINESS BEIJING TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFT EXPERIENCE STORE DESIGN WINTER 2013

GROUP WORK
In today’s China, the following problem is common to observe: high density of population, radical urban construction and the long history of tradition conflict with each other. How to preserve the traditional block? How to renovate the traditional architecture which has been destroyed? What is the best way of the coexistence of tradition and modern? As the preliminary answer to all the above problems, we have made a trial. As market competition becomes increasingly intense, traditional handicraft industry with a brilliant history in the past is facing a major crisis, some of which have even disappeared. How to make use of the features of traditional handicraft industry to attract consumers who are used to a fast-pace shopping mode, and update the industry? The commercial value of traditional handicraft industry in Beijing should be taken into consideration and redefined.
