We are also fully aware that through this criticism it is necessary to acknowledge not only “eye catching” images, but also the category of practical, functional and innovative. By focusing on creating a palette of different experiences of comfort, whether when sitting or sleeping, prostoria bases its advantage on the experience of its artisans in the production of mattresses. While these are an integral part of the sofa beds, the high resilience foam is one of the main components in forming the shape of all the seating modules, from the armchairs to the sofas. However, the precision of the actual production itself hinges on the quality selection of construction materials for the production of the furniture. The frames for prostoria’s upholstered furniture are made from solid wood and multi-layer plywood, lined with high resilience foam and filled with additional wadding and feathers, according to the dictates of the design. During the development process, concepts of future products are developed as prototypes in a scale of 1:1, as an object and its volume — one of the basic characteristics of upholstered furniture — may be genuinely experienced only through trying out desired positions, varying foam softness, the tactile quality of the fabric and its cut. Locating all the sections of production, distribution and the management itself in the same place allows for constant quality control, a prerequisite for maintaining high standards.

Die Rahmen für das Polstermöbel werden daher in prostoria aus Vollholz und mehrschichtigen Sperrplatten hergestellt, mit hochwertigem Kaltschaum bezogen und den Designvorgaben ensprechend auch mit Watte und Federn zusätzlich gefüllt. Während der Entwicklungsphase werden die Entwürfe künftiger Produkte in einem 1:1-Prototyp hergestellt, da ein Objekt in seinem Volumen — eines der Grundmerkmale von Polstermöbel — erst durch ein reales Verhältnis beim Testen des gewünschten Sitzerlebnisses, unterschiedlicher Schwammweichheit, taktiler Stoffqualität und seines Schnittes zu erleben ist. Das Unterbringen aller Produktionssegmente von der Produktion, dem Vertrieb bis zum Vorstand an einem Standort ermöglicht ständige Qualitätskontrolle — eine Voraussetzung für die Aufrechterhaltung der hohen Standards.
Sinergija industrije i ručne izrade / Pored visoke tehnologije koja omogućava produkciju velikih serija, u prostorii je ipak naglasak na majstorstvu ručne izrade u preciznoj izvedbi detalja. S usmjerenjem na stvaranje različitih nijansi osjećaja ugode kod sjedenja i ležanja, prostoria svoju prednost temelji upravo na prethodnom iskustvu svojih majstora u proizvodnji madraca. Premda su madraci sastavni dio njezinih garnitura na razvlačenje, njihov gradivni materijal od hladne pjene jedan je od glavnih dijelova forme svih modula za sjedenje — od fotelje do sofa. Međutim, preciznost same izrade počiva na kvalitetnom izboru gradivnih materijala za izradu namještaja. Okviri za ojastučeni namještaj stoga se u prostorii izrađuju od punog drva i višeslojnih šperploča, oblažu se visokokvalitetnom hladnom pjenom, a prema zahtjevima dizajna i dodatnim punjenjem od vate i perja. Tijekom razvojnog procesa, idejna se rješenja budućih proizvoda razvijaju u prototip u mjerilu 1:1, jer se objekt sa svojim volumenom — jedna od osnovnih karakteristika ojastučenog namještaja — može doživjeti tek kroz realni odnos za vrijeme isprobavanja željenog doživljaja sjedenja, različitih mekoća spužvi, taktilne kvalitete tkanine i njezina kroja. Organizacijski smještaj svih proizvodnih segmenata proizvodnje, distribucije, pa i same uprave na jednoj lokaciji omogućuju stalnu kontrolu kvalitete, preduvjeta za održavanje visokih standarda.
Details reflect the whole / prostoria is distinctive in its commitment to detail, for instance in additional surface softness and a particular sitting comfort. With the aim of superior comfort, the seat cushions of individual sofas are composed of up to 12 feather-filled stitched cases, in order to achieve a long lasting and uniform distribution of feathers throughout the entire surface area. On the other hand, the cuts of certain products require precision to the nearest millimetre, in order for the design’s details to adhere to the module’s form. The upholstery, cut and sewing departments are led by artisans who perpetually diffuse their knowledge to their colleagues, through controlling the production of the cuts, characteristic seams and the final upholstering with top-quality fabrics and leathers. In the event that the market does not provide satisfactory equipment for the quality execution of a product, prostoria simply resorts to making its own. This was precisely the case with the development of original transformation mechanisms for certain transformable sofas from the collection, which enables their easy transformation from a seating to a sleeping position.
Details widerspiegeln Einheit / Für prostoria ist das Engagement für die Schaffung charakteristischen Details, wie zusätzliche Oberflächenbehandlung zur Erzielung der Oberflächenweichheit und des besonderen Sitzkomforts charakteristisch. Zur Erzielung der überlegenen Annehmlichkeit bestehen die Sitzkissen bei einigen Sofas aus vielfachen — sogar bis zu 12 — genähten und mit Federn ausgefüllten Kammern, um langfristige und gleichmäßige Verteilung von Federn zu erzielen. Andererseits erfordern einige Produkte eine millimetergenaue Genauigkeit beim Nähen, damit die DesignDetails harmonisch auf die Modulform passen. Die Abteilung für Polsterung, Zuschnitt und Nähen wird von erfahrenen Handwerkern geleitet, die ihr Wissen ständig an andere Kollegen weitergeben, die Ausführung von Zuschnitten, charachteristischen Nähten und endgültiger Polsterung mit Top-Stoffen
und Leder überwachen. Gibt es auf dem Markt keine für die hochwertige Produktherstellung zufriedenstellende Ausrüstung, wird diese von prostoria selbst produziert. Genau auf diese Weise werden die Originalwendemechanismen bei einigen transformierbaren Betten aus der Kollektion entwickelt, um ihre einfache Transformation aus der Sitzphase in die Liegestellung zu ermöglichen.
Detalji odražavaju cjelinu / Za prostoriu je karakteristična posvećenost izradi detalja poput, primjerice, dodatne površinske obrade u svrhu postizanja površinske mekoće i posebne ugode pri sjedenju. U svrhu postizanja superiorne ugodnosti, kod pojedinih su sofa sjedeći jastuci sastavljeni od mnogostrukih — čak i do 12 — šivanih komora ispunjenih perjem kako bi se postigla dugotrajna i ravnomjerna rasprostranjenost perja po čitavoj površini. S druge strane, određeni proizvodi zahtijevaju milimetarsku preciznost u šivanju krojeva kako bi detalji dizajna skladno prianjali na formu modula. Odjel tapetarije, krojenja i šivanja vode iskusni majstori koji konstantno prenose svoje znanje na ostale kolege, kontrolirajući izvedbu krojeva, karakterističnih šavova i finalnog tapeciranja od vrhunskih tkanina i koža. U slučaju da na tržištu ne postoji zadovoljavajuća oprema važna za kvalitetnu izvedbu proizvoda, prostoria će je proizvesti sama. Upravo su na prikazani način razvijeni i originalni prekretni mehanizmi kod nekih transformabilnih ležajeva iz kolekcije kako bi se omogućila njihova lagana transformacija iz faze sjedenja u poziciju ležanja.

Numen/ForUse (Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler, Nikola Radeljković) is a CroatianAustrian design collective that works in the fields of scenography, industrial and spatial design and conceptual art. Recently they have turned towards installation art creating projects such as the NumenLight series, Tape nstallation, Net and Tuft. Under the name ForUse, they designed for Cappellini, ClassiCon, Desalto, Interlubke, Magis, MDF Italia, Moroso and Zanotta.
SANJA KNEZOVIĆ Numen/ForUse (Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler, Nikola Radeljković) ist ein kroatisch-österreichisches Designerkollektiv, das im Bereich der Szenografie, des Industrie- als auch Interieurdesigns und der konzeptionellen Kunst arbeitet. Außer für prostoria designen sie auch Möbel für Cappellini, ClassiCon, Desalto, Interlubke, Magis, MDF Italia, Moroso und Zanotta. Numen/ForUse (Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler, Nikola Radeljković) je hrvatskoaustrijski dizajnerski kolektiv koji radi na području scenografije, industrijskog dizajna, dizajna interijera i konceptualne umjetnosti. BOROVNJAK & BRATOVIĆ
Borovnjak & Bratović are a team of product designers whose collaboration began with the project of table for 1 or 2, which was selected by Konstantin Grcic and exhibited at Salone Satellite Milan in 2011, within the Young Balkan Designers collective. They work in the field of product design and visual communications.
Sanja Knezović is primarily an architect who heads her own architectural firm, which specialises in private houses and smaller commercial buildings. She has transferred the experience gained from designing furniture units for interiors onto designing upholstered furniture for prostoria, her first project in the field of product design.
REDESIGN Sanja Knezović ist als Architektin mit eigenem Architekturbüro hauptsächlich Projektantin für Häuser und kleinere Geschäftsobjekte. Beim Entwerfen der Polstermöbel für prostoria nutzt sie ihre Erfahrung im Design von Inneneinrichtungen. Es ist ihr erstes Projekt im Bereich Produktdesign. Sanja Knezović je primarno arhitektica koja vodi vlastiti arhitektonski studio projektirajući privatne kuće i manje poslovne objekte. Svoje iskustvo dizajniranja komadnog namještaja za interijere pretočila je u dizajn ojastučenog namještaja za prostoriu, njezin prvi projekt na području produkt dizajna.
GRUPA Die erste Zusammenarbeit von Ivana Borovnjak und Roberta Bratović fand beim Entwurf des Tisches for 1 or 2 statt, der von Konstantin Grcic innerhalb des Projekts „Young Balkan Designers“ auf der Salone Satellite 2011 in Mailand vorgestellt wurde. Sie arbeiten zusammen an verschiedenen Projekten im Bereich Industriedesign und visuelle Kommunikationen. Borovnjak je magistrirala konceptualni dizajn na Akademiji za dizajn u Eindhovenu, a Bratović dizajn za performans na Central Saint Martins u Londonu. Njihova prva zajednička suradnja bila je na dizajnu stola for 1 or 2, koji je Konstantin Grčić uvrstio u projekt Young Balkan Designers, predstavljen na Salone Satellite u Milanu 2011.
Grupa is a team of product designers that commenced by designing the solid wood furniture line Basic (Artisan), for which they received the Edida 2009 award. Along with product design, Grupa designs interiors and creates scenographies for special events.
Neven and Sanja Kovačić (Redesign) are involved in interdisciplinary design projects in different fields with an emphasis on product design and innovation. Their active interest in various aspects of technology and society has so far resulted in a broad spectrum of completed projects: from a recyclable cardboard shelf system to sophisticated test and training sports equipment.
DVA PLUS Redesign ist ein multidisziplinäres DesignStudio, gerichtet auf die Entwicklung neuer Produkte und technologischer Innovationen. Dank guter Kenntnis verschiedener Technologiebereiche realisierte es bisher eine breite Palette an Produkten — vom Design recycled Papperegalen bis zur anspruchsvollen Reha-Anlage zum Testen und Training von Kniegelenken. Redesign je multidisciplinarni dizajn studio usmjeren na razvoj koncepata novih proizvoda i tehnoloških inovacija. Zahvaljujući dobrom poznavanju različitih područja tehnologije do sada su realizirali širok raspon projekata — od dizajna recikliranih kartonskih polica do sofisticiranog uređaja za rehabilitaciju, testiranje i trening zgloba koljena.
BÖTTCHER HENSSLER KAYSER Grupa (Filip Despot, Ivana Pavić, Tihana Taraba) begann ihre Karriere mit dem Entwurf einer Möbelkollektion aus massivem Holz Basic (Artisan). Für diese Kollektion erhielten sie den Edid-Preis 2009 (Elle Decoration International Design Award) in der Kategorie „Jung-Designer“. Sie wirken im Bereich Produktund Interieurdesign. Grupa (Filip Despot, Ivana Pavić, Tihana Taraba) je svoju karijeru započela dizajnom linije namještaja od masivnog drva Basic (Artisan), za koji su nagrađeni Edidom 2009. g. (Elle Decoration International Design Award) u kategoriji „Mladi dizajner“. Djeluju na području produkt dizajna i dizajna interijera.
Moritz Böttcher and Sören Henssler founded their Berlin based design studio in 2007. In 2013 the designer Nikolaus Kayser joined the team. Since 2014 the trio is working under the studio name Böttcher Henssler Kayser in the fields of consumer product, furniture and lighting design with companies such as ANTA, Böwer, Mater, Normann Copenhagen, Scantex, Schönbuch, Vertigo Bird and Zero.
Moritz Böttcher und Sören Henssler gründeten ihr Berliner Designstudio im Jahr 2007. 2013 kam der Designer Nikolaus Kayser ins Team. Seit 2014 arbeitet das Trio unter dem Studio-Namen Böttcher Henssler Kayser in den Bereichen Produkt-, Möbel- und Leuchtendesign mit Unternehmen wie Anta, Böwer, Mater, Normann Copenhagen, Scantex, Schönbuch, Vertigo Bird und Zero. Moritz Böttcher i Sören Henssler osnovali su svoj dizajnerski studio u Berlinu 2007. godine. 2013. godine njihovom timu pridružio se dizajner Nikolaus Kayser. Dva Plus (Judita i Damir Ljutić) is an architectural firm which builds its creative expression on the principles of research, inspiration and innovation. It focuses on challenging and reinterpreting established connotations, with the aim of aligning recent global guidelines concerning the functional organisation of a space, visual aesthetics and sustainable construction.
Dva Plus ist das Architekturbüro, das seinen kreativen Ausdruck auf den Grundsätzen der Forschung, Inspiration und Innovation baut. Es strebt nach Umdenken etablierter Konnotationen und deren Neuinterpretierung, um mit den jüngsten globalen Richtlinien in Bezug auf die funktionelle Raumeinrichtung, visuelle Ästhetik und nachhaltiges Bauen zu harmonieren. Dva Plus je arhitektonski ured koji svoj kreativni izražaj gradi na principima istraživanja, inspiracije i inovativnosti. Usmjeren je ka propitivanju ustaljenih konotacija i njihovoj reinterpretaciji u svrhu usklađivanja s recentnim globalnim smjernicama po pitanju funkcionalne organizacije prostora, vizualne estetike i održive gradnje.
SIMON MORASI PIPERČIĆ
Simon Morasi Piperčić ist an einer Vielzahl von Projekten tätig - von Industrie-Design, Raumgestaltung, Szenografie und Installation bis hin zur künstlerischen Leitung und kreativen Beratung. Neben der Arbeit in seinem Studio ist Simon gleichzeitig an mehreren anderen Projekten beteiligt. In Zusammenarbeit mit Vedran Kolac hat er 2009 das Project MOE – eine Serie durch Video und Licht verbreiteter Konstruktionen – ins Leben gerufen. Anfang 2014 wurde er vom Brand Sphera zum Kreativdirektor mit Schwerpunkt auf die Entwicklung von Büro- und Küchensysteme ernannt.
Simon Morasi Piperčić is involved in a wide range of projects – from industrial design, spatial design, scenography and installations, to artistic and creative consulting. Along with managing his own studio, Simon has been simultaneously involved in several other projects. In 2009, in partnership with Vedran Kolc, he initiated the Project MOE – series of light and video augmented modular constructions. In the beginning of 2014, the brand Sphera appointed him as the creative director, focusing on the development of office and kitchen systems. Simon Morasi Piperčić djeluje u širokom spektru projekata – od industrijskog dizajna, oblikovanja prostora, scenografije i instalacija pa sve do umjetničke direkcije i kreativnog konzaltinga. Uz vođenje svog studija, Simon je istodobno involviran i u nekoliko drugih projekata. Godine 2009., u partnerstvu s Vedranom Kolcem, inicirao je Project MOE – seriju videom i svjetlom proširenih modularnih konstrukcija. Početkom 2014. godine, brend Sphera postavlja ga na poziciju kreativnog direktora, s naglaskom na razvoj uredskih i kuhinjskih sistema.
