Looking at the calendar, then at our crop progress, it’s hard to believe that it is early June already. What an unbelievably cold and wet growing season so far. The really good news, however, is this same weather pattern has provided a much‑needed high energy boost to our grain markets. It’s hard to believe we have a weather market already starting in late May. No doubt we have an interesting year ahead of us. The period of difficult weather conditions we have recently experienced plus the challenging trade environment we are seeing has put a lot of pressure on everyone involved in agriculture. We know you are looking for a light at the end of the tunnel. As such, all of us here at 21st Century Equipment are dedicated to get you more value for the dollars that you spend with us. Trying to build more value into the services that we provide, whether it is selling equipment, providing parts, delivering service or helping you with your precision ag needs, requires our employees to constantly be thinking about ways we can deliver these services better. That’s how we look at everything we do – as an opportunity to do things better than the competition. Ag Tech Program
The John Deere Ag Tech program is a unique alliance between the John Deere Company, John Deere dealers and various colleges across the nation. Students completing the program graduate with an Associate’s of Applied Science degree while also completing a cooperative work experience at a John Deere dealership. 21st Century Equipment is proud to take part in this program and looks forward to these students joining our staff during their college cooperative work experiences and upon completion of the Ag Tech program.

New Students and Staff Employees Wallace “Acie” Calkins has joined the Sterling, CO, location as a new Parts Specialist. He is originally from Sterling, and after having graduated from high school in Phoenix he returned to graduate from NJC. He is currently studying Psychology at UNC. His work history includes drilling rigs, construction, and welding. In his free time, Acie likes to hunt, fish, and spend time with his fiancé . David Davidson is the new
Transportation Specialist at our Sterling, CO, location. Originally from Phoenix, Dave has previous work experience as an Operations Manager, CDLA Driver, Business Owner, and Heavy Equipment Operator. In his free time, Dave enjoys playing guitar, target shooting, carpentry, and spending time with his 6 children and 6 grandchildren.
Chuck Saunders has joined the
Sales team at our Holyoke, CO, location. He is originally from Oshkosh, NE, and has previous work experience with Honen Equipment in CO and WY, construction equipment sales in Manitowoc Grove National Cranes, and John Deere construction equipment. In his free time, Chuck likes to fish, hunt, go boating, and spend time with his wife and their 8 year old black lab.

Kyle Blochowitz is the new Parts Specialist at our Holyoke, CO, location. He is originally from Julesburg and attended both

NJC and Denver Institute of Technology. Kyle has worked as an Art Director for Cabela’s, a Sprayer/Operator for Centennial Ag Supply, and Highway Maintenance and Noxious Weed Manager for CDOT. In his free time he enjoys camping, spending time with family and friends, and attending his kids sports and academic events.
Tim Phillips has joined the
Torrington, WY, team as a new Service Technician. Originally from Scottsbluff, NE, Tim studied at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. His prior work experience includes construction and locomotive diesel tech. In his free time Tim enjoys fishing, hunting, doing renovations, and volunteering as a coach for little league sports.
Ryan Schmidt has joined the
Sales team at our Scottsbluff, NE, location. He is originally from Mitchell, NE, and has a BS from UNK. Ryan has spent the past 12 years working with Haun Brothers Farms. In his free time, he likes to spend time with family, workout at the YMCA, play basketball, watch sports, and cook on his Traeger.
Jeff Neibert has returned to our
Cheyenne Wells, CO, location as a Parts Specialist. Originally from Lamar, CO, Jeff has worked in the John Deere industry for 22 years. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his grandson, fish, and detail his pickup.
Stacey Greenough has joined the team in Gordon, NE, as a new Service Technician. Stacey is originally from Detroit, MI, and has an associate’s degree from Cuesta College in CA, and graduated from Stuttgart American High School in Germany. Stacey retired from the Army after 32 years of service with 7 years active duty, 5 years in the National
Guard, and 20 years in the Civil Service. In his free time, he likes to fish, camp, outdoor anything, refinish furniture, garden, and spend time with his family.
His other prior work experience includes O’Reilly Auto Parts and helping at his uncle’s and friend’s ranch. In his free time, Erik likes to work on his pick up and his ’66 Mustang.
Kelly Leach is the new Detail
Michael Peterson has joined the Service team at our Yuma, CO, location as a new Master [AMF] Technician. He is originally from Benkelman, NE, and is a graduate of the Diesel Tech program at NWKTC in Goodland, KS. His previous work experience includes both Plains Equipment and American Implement. In his free time, Michael likes to run, race, operate RC cars, and tinker.
Specialist at our Flagler, CO, location. Originally from Colorado, Kelly graduated from Genoa High School. He has previous experience with cleaning and janitorial services. In his free time, Kelly likes to clean his car, take care of his parent’s yardwork, shop, and spend time with his family.
Luke Hull is a new Service Tech
at our Wray, CO, location. Originally from the area, Luke graduated from both Idalia High and Wyotech. His previous work experience includes Quality Farm and Ranch Center and American Implement. In his free time, Luke likes to hunt, fish, work in his shop, be outdoors, and spend time with his family.
Taylor Lackey has joined the Sales team at our Torrington, WY location. He is originally from Morrill, NE, where he graduated high school. He also has an Associates from EWC and a bachelors from Chadron State. His work experience includes a 2-year internship with Panhandle Coop, and as a Guide for a big game/water fowl outfitter during college. Taylor is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, NE football, and spending time with his family. Vaughn Smith is our new Detail Specialist at our Gordon, NE, location.
Erik Soderquist has joined us as a new Service Tech at our Bridgeport, NE, location. He recently graduated from Northeastern Junior College’s Diesel Technology program in Sterling, CO, where he initially joined us as a Service Assistant.
Dawn George is the new Location Clerk at our Wray, CO, location. Originally from the Wray area, she graduated from both Wray High School and NJC. In her free time, Dawn enjoys anything involving horses, branding, roping, golfing, spending time with her family, watching her kids’ sports, and shopping. Matthew Brekel is our new Parts Specialist at our Sterling, CO, location. Originally from the Sterling area, he graduated from Sterling High School. Matt has spent most of his adult life as a diesel mechanic in the oil field, but moved back home in 2016 ready for a change. In his free time, he likes to golf and watch hockey and other sports. Dalton McMurphy is a new ISG Consultant at our Yuma, CO, location. He is originally from the area and attended both NJC and Colorado State. Dalton is a former Crop Scout and Ag Intelligence Tech for Helena Chemical and Centennial Ag Supply. He also has work experience from his family farm. In his free time, he likes to farm, play video games, watch sports, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with his family.
