The drainage of Hanxi is the old river course of Hanxi, and there are many farmlands around it. Most of the heron birds inhabit here. Due to frequent flooding and diversion, river diversion and embankment construction have caused the disappearance of the heron habitat.

The design direction of this project combines natural ecology and urban ecology to design and create living spaces for living things, and use rewilding to restore the river ecological environment and construct a complete river ecological system. Choose appropriate locations to provide residents with a space to get close to the river, and conduct interpretative education and leisure and recreation to achieve a balance between ecology and human activities.

Landscape Ecology –– Nature-Based Solutions

1989, river embankments were

the upper reaches of the river were diverted, which gradually affected the ecology In 1995, urban expansion led to an increase in urban drainage, and an increase in domestic sewage caused by upstream agricultural land, which in turn harmed the ecology In 2000, there was an increasing demand for leisure in urban areas, and government departments replanned Hanxi streams to provide a strip of activity space for urban residents

In 2006, the government planned to demolish the embankment due to the width of the upper reaches of the Hanxi stream and the small displacement. However, there is still a need for flood control in the downstream, and the embankment was renovated with the green belt.

-Regeneration Recreation in Volcanic Geological Field

Urban environment design is often an artificial environment, which needs to consider the use of hard pavement and suitable maintenance facilities to create a natural environment, while rural environment needs to consider making good use of local natural resources and the environment with mixed living, production and ecological environment.

City people need to release stress through rural recreational experience. Rural residents need the economic support provided by city people for local agricultural products, so as to form a virtuous circle between urban and rural areas.

The project is located in Jinshan District, Xinbei city. Now, with the business space of Lvfeng resort as the core and around a large area of open forest land and abandoned terraces, it is a traditional mountain rural settlement and the site is close to the living and agricultural production space of the residents; It is expected to make use of the existing resources, towards the preservation and activation of the local agricultural production landscape, and put forward the recreation environment construction and experience design scheme in line with the local business situation.

The interface between humans and ecology

Three spatial objectives are proposed. Ecological forest is to protect endemic species and restore ecology. Geothermal ecology to make use of geothermal resources for circulation, present special landscape, integrate terraces into hot springs and create forest hot spring atmosphere. Farmland ecology is to plant characteristic crops in the form of terraces and increase the communication between residents and tourists.

Since the reform and opening up in 1978, China's society and economy have developed rapidly, and the built-up area of the city has expanded rapidly too. The rural areas originally distributed on the edge of the city have been incorporated into the urban territory and surrounded by modern buildings, forming a unique internal form of the city, urban village, which is regarded as a residential area lagging behind the development pace of the city, dissociating from modern urban management, and with low living standards.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, Wuhan has become an international focus. When walking in the famous scenic area of East Lake, I accidentally found an old residential area. The village was dark and humid, and the people who lived here were underprivileged because the rent was half that of the surrounding residential areas.Even though life was hard, they could sit on the dilapidated roof in the daytime and look into the distance. At night, they could hear the wind and waves of the East Lake nearby, as if they were living by the sea. However, this village was about to be demolished and turned into a large parking lot.

In December 1986, Wuhan was officially declared as historical and cultural city by the Chinese government. Yet, Wuhan possessed the largest number and scale of the urban village and East Lake Scenery Village is most typical one. In recent 20 years, Wuhan has been focusing on the transformation of the urban village. This kind of gentrification makes an old district transfer from the original gathering of low-income people to the rise of land price and rent after reconstruction, which leads to higherincome people moving in and replacing the original

A living lab is a user-centered,open-innovation ecosystem, often operating in a territorial context(eg.city, agglomeration, region),integrating concurrent research and innnovation processes within a public-private-people partnership.

The streets in this site can be divided into three categories: Category is not less than 3 meters, connected to the main road outside, and the first floor is transformed into shops. Class B is not less than 1.5m, which is a branch road between buildings, with poor lighting and sanitary conditions. Category C has a width of 1.2 meters, does not have a building entrance, and only serves as traffic function. The buildings in the village are generally tall, with 3-4 floors facing the street and 6-7 floors inside. In addition, the villagers’ public activities are concentrated on the streets in the village, and there is a lack of dedicated open space.

Rethinking ground study in landscape architecture

In the 21st century, people would like to combine the landscape with narrative during the process of landscape design and they think that landscape and story are inseparable. Landscape could be worked as the scene to promote the development of story, while the story could give landscape with historical meaning.

However, the relationship between landscape and narrative has been existed in the early of the development of landscape. It is not the limitation of some space utilization, but the object that was described by scholars through drawing and literature, just like the concept of “Garden” in ancient China. In western countries, the original of the word “Landscape” was also closely related to the style and theme in the early of Netherlandish drawing.

At the beginning, landscape is a style and object of a kind of narrative, and it has never existed

through separating from narrative.

Return to the basic definition of landscape, it explores the local venation through utilizing the method of geology to draw pictures and then implement the reappearance of landscape.

The geographical phenomenon formed by the nature and human existed in Tatu Mountain of Taichung was based on space, its regional and spacial features formed by the interaction of human and lands could be reflected in people’s daily living. With the time passed, it formed a featured venation with regional uniqueness and eventually describes through geology.

We will rethink the role of Taichung Metropolitan Park in Taichung Tatu Terrace in the 21 years ago with geology. Later, we will regard it as Heterotopia, disturb the old space, re-open the arts field and build a new Tatu Park with mixing the narrative with space through the method of geology.

fig. 9. Movement/experience notation, Lori Cockerham, 1991. Pencil, ink, and copy-transfer on paper, 43'2 35"6 em. This notational drawing was produced from a particular sequence of experience along a short walk. The photographic inlays offigures and actions are meant to convey series of ‘happenings’ that occurred along the way. Events and action are always the most variable aspects of landscape experience, and yet they probably form the greater part of engagement and memory recollection.

Surveying and mapping planes, sections, elevations, and technical specifications written down are also marks, because the main purpose of these drawings is to illustrate a specific work so that it can be translated to minimize ambiguity.

The sign system in landscape architecture is practical not only because of its communicative and translatable state, but also because these systems allow us to simultaneously consider different levels of experience, including movement and time.

Lawrence Halprin designed notational scores as a tool for design presentation, and also used to consider the potential and experience of elements in a specific path or sequence

Except for Halprin, there are few developments of signs unique to landscape architecture. However, the characteristics of landscapes are similar to stories, dances, theaters or movies, making "marks" notation an important research field.

The type of deep-farming farming vegetation based on the hans, mainly engaged in planting sugarcane and rice

In the beginning, Dadu Mountain took on the appearance of virgin forest. The aborigines of Pingpu made a living from hunting. Later, they developed secondary agriculture. After being replaced by the Hans, they became a complete farming type, and then there were temples formed by more settlements. And the sugar mills that appeared when the sugar industry rose, and large number of sugar factories and shrines appeared when the sugar industry flourished during the Japanese rule. Afterwards, it was severely affected by the war. Finally, the land developed after the end of the military.

The military vegetation type based on the Yangmingshan Project. The main forest is Taiwan Acacia, and the flat surface is dry land. The main planting is sugarcane and rice. The by-product of sugarcane can be used to extract alcohol to make aviation fuel. Acacia is the basic raw material for gunpowder.

The release pattern of cultivated land is mainly based on the Dadu Mountain development project. At this stage, the cultivated land is transformed into development land, and the forest becomes grassland.

The path at the beginning of this section mainly includes Taiwan luan tree, camphor tree and green oak.In the narrative of topography, the original natural forest vegetation of Dadu Mountain is mainly composed of Fagaceae and Lauraceae. Therefore, in this section, the beginning of the topography of the primeval forest will be described and then the design will be superimposed according to the length and sequence of the period.
