What is the philosophy of KHAMBÚ? Owner Marian Cervera: Khambú was born in Valencia as a vegan fast food restaurant with a great commitment to sustainability, where you’ll find a variety of di shes that will surprise you with their texture, taste, smell, colour and appearance. All this at a pri ce as affordable as possible, with very economical options and ac cessible to all wallets & purses. Our main purpose is to make known a philosophy of vegan life in which, as far as food is concer ned, no animal products of any kind are used . We have eliminated single-use plastics, which are replaced by compostable materials like paper or reusable glass. We have inno vated with our edible packaging for the delicious salads. We provide top quality products for our public, putting all of our effort and enthusiasm into it so that our clients have an excellent gastronomic experience. What are your specialties? In Khambú you can find a great variety of hamburgers, potatoes, crunchy sweet potato, nachos with guacamole and vegan chee se, wraps, original appetizers like the ‘Aros del Mar’ that remind us of the traditional Roman style squid, salads, in edible dishes, Tex-Mex burritos, nuggets from Quorn (a microprotein of great nutritional value), Heura skewers (with ex cellent nutritional properties) that surprise everyone who tries them because of their great resemblan ce to chicken and other delicious snacks to share. We also have a variety of irresis tible desserts that are homemade with no dairy products, eggs nor any other animal products. Our desserts are suitable for people with allergies, even gluten-free and vegan desserts (which are of ten hard to find). Do you have a specific type of client? As we offer low prices, taking into account the quality and size of the portions, our audience is very broad although it is mainly a young audience, with growing concerns such as the state of ani mal welfare, the sustainability of the resources we use on the planet and health in general. Older people also come to try it and then con gratulate us for the pleasant surprise they get. Many families with children come to the restaurant or come to buy food to takeaway. The parents are very happy to know that their children are eating more vegetable products in this way and are as happy or happier than if they went to another traditional fast food restaurant. And the kids also enjoy it very much… because it’s similar in taste and texture to what they know. Greetings to you all!
