I am confident that this will be the first of many amazing issues in the future, a statement I make knowing full well what these young writers and gamers are capable of producing. What started as merely a pipe dream in creating a gaming review website with a focus on indie gaming, has blossomed into something much, much more. The focus is still certainly on providing readers with the most engaging critique of all things indie gaming, but there is no way we can ignore the unri-

high death counts (everyone makes mistakes, especially in this game) is its restart time. With every death is a lightning fast “R to Restart” and respawn, with the beginning of each floor acting as a checkpoint. Hotline Miami’s fast paced killing and simple controls make things quick and easy to get into and doesn’t leave out more casual gamers. The game keeps the controls clean, nothing too overly ambitious that makes Jacket feel “clunky” or hard to maneuver. Although controls might be easy to mix up at early stages (I personally kept throwing weapons when trying to shoot them or tried attacking enemies with the execution button at first) and can even prove to be frustrating at times, once the controls and mechanics of the game are mastered, finding the best path through enemies becomes second nature. However, even with the mastery of controls, the game still proves itself to
