That ’s a wrap

Step 1 Step 2 Get messy and paint your own gorgeous DIY Christmas wrapping paper with Resene testpots.

Step 1

Spread out the plastic tablecloth and get those little hands involved to create your own signature wrapping paper for this year’s celebrations. Kids might want to choose some bright colour combinations, or you can add glitz with Resene FX metallics.

Step 2

STENCIL TERRAZZO

PATTERN

YOU WILL NEED:

Cardboard for the stencil sheet Craft knife and pencil Plain white paper Sponges Resene testpots in your choice of colours; we used Resene Fast Forward, Resene Artemis, Resene Liberty, Resene Ethereal and Resene Moonlight.

Step 3

INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1

Make the stencil by drawing random terrazzo shapes onto a piece of card. Once you’re happy with the pattern, cut out the shapes with a craft knife. Of course, you can use any pattern you like; your household might prefer dinosaurs to terrazzo.

Step 2

Place stencil on the first section of paper. Dab paint on with the sponges.

Step 3

Move stencil along for next section. (To create a more random pattern over the paper turn the stencil to mirror image the first application beside it).

Rubber band and testpot

STAR STAMP

YOU WILL NEED:

Roll of craft paper 8 x rubber bands Testpot brush 2 x Resene testpots to use as stamps Resene testpots in your choice of colours; we used Resene Red Herring and Resene Moonlight

Step 3

INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1

Attach rubber bands over the Resene testpots to create star patterns.

Step 2

Paint over the rubber bands evenly using the testpot brush.

Step 3

Press the stamp evenly on the craft paper. The paint will last for about three stamps. You can repeat with another colour if you want. Then wrap up all your special surprises and display them under the tree!
