LOCATION/CONTEXT The site is located in Deralakatte, Mangalore. It is on a terrain with a steep slope, which offers a splendid view of the forest in the South. Being situated away from the rampant urban sprawl and surrounded by lush green natural landscape, the location becomes ideal for a tranquil lifestyle.

SITE ANALYSIS

EXISTING ENVIRONMENT The existing site being considerably narrow, the sloped terrain helps achieve maximum functional space. The scenic view of the forest being on the South, wider openings can be provided on the south facade to maximize the views. Potential entry to the site is from the 6m wide road on the North.

GIVEN REQUIREMENTS To develop a medium density housing solution that address the growing demand for accessible, affordable and sustainable housing through good quality design.

CIRCULATION -VERTICAL -HORIZONTAL

Three individual circulation cores are provided for vertical circulation within the building. The site being considerably narrow, Usage of corridors are minimized in the horizontal circulation. Common areas are proposed in the zones easily accessible from all three blocks.
