The story of Sredna gora begins in 1963 as a state
factory for production of furniture, windows, children’s
toys and other articles of wood. Today, in celebration
of the 50th anniversary, the company is one
of the largest manufacturers of chairs of solid wood
in Europe.
The factory is situated in the industrial zone of
Stara Zagora, in the area of 76.5 thousand square
meters, of which 16.6 thousand square meters are
represent industrial and administrative buildings. At
the end of 2013 the company operates with a staff of
550 employees. The production is specialized mostly
in chairs, tables made of solid pine and beech wood
as it is most exclusively exported outside Bulgaria
Sredna gora AD boasts a 34-year partnership with
the global leader in furniture trade IKEA. It begins in
1979, when the production and delivery of the first
set of table and chairs for the Swedish company are
made. Over the years, Sredna gora has become one
of the main supplies of chairs for the furniture giant.
