Autobiography 1. About me My name is Song-Yi Hong. I’m twenty-four years old, born in Donggang Township, Pingtung County in 1990. I learned Chinese calligraphy since my childhood, and started to learn about graffiti when I was in Junior High school. I love the art of boutique. And I have a passion for fashion. I often study window display and the style of boutiques in department stores. I believe my strong suits are my keen observation, novel perceptive on fashion trend and ability to cope pressure.

2. School Life I graduated from Department of Commercial Design, Ming Chuan University. We were trained not only to equip with the basic skills, but also the logic thinking about design. In the “Fashion Design” class, I was deeply influenced by my teacher’s way of analyzing the characteristics of the brand in the process of designing a co-brand project. I also assisted a famous designer, Mr. Jiun-Liang Chen, to arrange the display of his exhibition. All details from shopping route to the overall impressions of the exhibition were checked by us. And I was honored to observe and learn from the ex-creative director of Armani Casa, Mr. Chih-jen Cheng. I was lucky enough to participate in some out-reach projects or design competitions held by industry and our university in my college days. One interesting case was a crossover of art culture and city building involving artist

Mr. Timmy Yip. We decided on logo, posters,

advertisement and time schedule. The plan is now accepted and currently in process. I also have the honor to receive silver medal of the Times Young Creative Awards for “the unique expression style and novel design” of the “Nissan New March” advertisement.

3. Intern experience - DENTSU advertising. Under the guidance of Creative Director, I made commercial script and plot for the micro movie, “For Music Lovers, By Music Lovers”, by Sony Walkman. I experienced the spirit of teamwork and stringency of the creative process.

I also learnt that communicating among

design department, marketing department, director and actors are crucial to the success of the project.

communicate with users based on their own experience. I participated in the web design. The web highlights fashion and woman community. We designed and set up the “Infatuate-Wall” to follow the favorite topics for the website users and “discussion board with users” to communicate with users. After all what breeds creativity is effective communication.

4. Work experience I am now working as a designer for Jingjingjing advertising Co.. I am responsible for advertising, graphic design, print publications, and e-banners. Our customs are Pizza-hut, Kg-check, ATT4FUN, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and Emphasis Jeweler, just to name a few. The core of my job is to identify the brand spirit or core value for our customs. We analyze brand, collect competitor’s data, and develop the project. I also assisted with photography department on the side. My most valued experience that differs from my college experience is the balance between creativity and business in the creative process. My experience in searching and analyzing the advertising of beauty and fashion is certainly a great helpful to me for familiarizing fashion industry.

5. Future plan The desire to purchase is influenced by the display design. My diversified training in art, such as Chinese calligraphy, art, illustration, display design and design in general makes me a good candidate for the job. I will continue to enhance my ability by absorbing new knowledge in architectural and interior design or any related fields. I believe I will be a valuable member in your company if given the chance.
