HERB JAR - MULTI PURPOSE STORAGE

This product would be found in a designer upmarket kitchen, home or establishment. Each copper base has been hand spun, milled and finished. Unique, no two units are the same. SKETCHING SKILLS This page is to demonstrate my personal sketching ability for both loose concept sketches and presentation sketching. The sketching on this page represents a handle-less mug concept, made from porcelain, using a slip casting process. A demonstration of loose and quick ideation is displayed on the left. On the right is a combination of sketching, rendering with pencil and Copic markers. Including some digital touch up, layout, text and pagination. I have only demonstrated a few sketches on this page.

ASIAN EMPORIUM
05 - CLIENT PROJECTS INTERIOR DESIGN Approached by Cambodian retailer Asian Emporium to complete an interior concept render. Renders were to be used for a tender application, for a small 30 sqm retail shop. Location in a new build 5 star hotel lobby, based in Siem Reap. The merchant specialises in selling souvenirs, stone and wood carvings and statues. Classic and contemporary rugs and silk scarves. Brief - The client wanted the concept to mostly look great. The design and layout was open, however should showcase the current product range. They wanted a desk workstation, storage, shelving and glass door. I designed the Point of Sale to include storage for the rugs and scarves. The concept was to create a gallery type space with well lit areas to attract customers. The rugs are designed to be artistically displayed wall hangings with back lighting. A simple classic shelf system and plinths were designed for the gallery type look and feel. Due to the clients budget limitations, it was necessary to be efficient with time whenever possible, including downloading existing 3D products. Examples shown are what was presented to the client. Lower images are what could have been if time frames and budget increased.

MODULAR SEATING The following concept designs were created for tender applications of commercial office spaces requiring fit-out. Special attention was given to chair dimensions and ergonomics, however these concepts did not need to be resolved. Overall dimensions were noted. Potentially this seating would be made at the Beyond Design factory — Phnom Penh. By using standard seat heights throughout multiple concepts and wherever possible, I shared the same degree for any radius on module extensions. Therefore you can see from the examples, that different modules can be pieced together to create different designs, utilising the different extension pieces Depending on the space of the interior different solutions, can be provided

“Full of enthusiasm and positivity Jason worked both autonomously and collaboratively with our in-house design team to project manage, design, prototype and build a fantastic on-brand exhibition display... Anna Kinneir - Partnerships Lead INTERNSHIP Due to a lack of opportunities in Perth, in 2016 I decided to travel to Amsterdam in search of relevant work experience. After meeting with Makerversity, they were gracious enough to give me an opportunity. Makerversity brings makers of all levels together by providing shared workspaces with workshop facilities in London and Amsterdam. Makerversity asked me to design and make, exhibition stands for their 15 existing members to display their works for the upcoming Amsterdam Makers Festival. Brief - 15 exhibition stands, that allowed for a variety of options. To include a poster of the designer, table space, hanging space, potential shelving with either use of a half or full exhibition space. In order to be more efficient it was revealed that some existing furniture was already available. As a result the stands were to incorporate the existing furniture into the design, which saved money, materials and time. Time frame was due in 4 weeks. The exhibition was a success with Makerversity becoming the nucleus for the whole Amsterdam Makers Festival, with hundreds of people walking through the exhibition space.
My personal inclusions to the finished product, was to build the Makerversity Logo and to incorporate the existing look and feel of the interior design.

LOGO DESIGN The client had several failed attempts at trying to have a logo designed, by one of those name your price online websites. After I saw the finished results and an unhappy client, I personally took it on board to create a logo that actually represented the client and the clients needs.

Muscle Kaos is a personal trainer. He wanted the logo to be sleek and professional. MK are also the personal initials of the client. Specific colours of red and black. The letter M is leaning forward to show progression. The three stripes represent the different weighted plates and the letter K points back to the plates to represent a continuing cycle progression. Part of the brief was to make the letter K pop. to make it stand out a drop shadow effect was used. On the business cards, a raised finish with a spot colour of red was finalised. The client was extremely pleased with the results as it was more personalised than the previous work he had received from the online website.
