The general image that exists in the shaping and searching for the ideal form in architectural processes seems to be altered over time. Space producing characteristics and processes are emerging in the contemporary architecture that contribute to the creation of an instability that contradicts the uniqueness and sets the foundation for an architecture free of stability and permanence. We can see, therefore, that the knowledge of space has been separated from the stability of the content and the certainty of the meaning. Its production processes are characterized by complexity and do not bear any obvious intentions. The creation of the space is also not distinguishable from duration of time nor is it captive of the place. In this respect, initially, if we consider Rafel Lozano Hemmer’s relational architecture concepts, which are referring to a technological treatment of buildings and public spaces, we can lay the foundations for an unpredictable and dynamic design of the urban landscape.

In specific locations of the public space reviewed, there are located wireless cameras embeded in the spikes of the drawing. Their purpose is to collect data and feed the projections of the project in real time.

The designed floor indicates the presence of a game zone while fading in and out while its different color show the game being played. It is also the protects, hides, and receives all the electrical connections needed.

The benches are designed for mostly practical purposes. They always surround a tree of the pedestrian street and they are equipped with a net and foamy balls which allow the pedestrian to sit on the routes of the trees.

The lamps notify every time the pedestrian that he entered a game zone .It is actually a smooth gradient between the reality and each heterotopia.

08 Shadow The cemeteries then came to constitute, no longer the sacred and immortal heart of the city but the other city, where each family possesses its dark resting place. In Shadow, the physical figure of the player gets contoured and then projected as horizontal depth lines, while the user tries to balance himself in the centre of the predifined path. As he succeds the contours stay calm, as he may not the lines create an aggresive effect of motion.

This pavilion is being designed to constitute a medium between the archaeological site of the Galerius Palace, in Thessaloniki, and the modern inhabitant of the city through the form of an ephemeral and lightweight construction. It proposes a space that is an exhibition center or a place of various events, that simultaneously serves recreation purposes and hosts a cafeteria, a book store and a gift shop. The main designing concept emerged as a result of the effort of combining the historical weight of the site with the emphemerality of a modern construction. A two-part zoning of this construction was chosen to reflect that idea : on the one hand the representation of the Byzantine masonry, while on the other, the trail of the modern. The conjunction of these conflicting elements is being achieved through a clean, translucent, box that encloses them and tries to develop a dialogue with the urban landscape.

Plan The Pavilion is divided into 2 levels. The lower level is designed to resemble a walk in the ancient ruins of the byzantine palace of Galerios in Thessaloniki .We developed a Grasshopper script1 that voxelizes the volumes that form the zone and we used wood and concrete as the main materials than can implement this contrast that the landscape naturally provides.

The zone 1 is not only forming the boundaries of the pavilion but it is accurately designed to provide the facilities needed such as stands of various levels for the exhibits. The double height of the pavilion provided by the zone 2 ,facilitates an overall view of the interior while the transparency of the ceiling provides enough natural light for the pavilion use in the mornings.

This project is based on the functional combination of 2 mechanical systems : a 4 axis CNC system and a variation of the Di.Wire of Pensa Labs. It is designed as a desktop – industrial machine which can bend specific blades in every angle as well as place the formatted blade with great accuracy in order to create custom shaped blades. The machine runs the firmware Marlin and it understands commands in G-code. Both motorized systems are being drived by Stepper drivers and controlled by 2 Arduino Megas. The interface which I designed to run the machine is entirely made in Processing and the physical communication with the computer is implemented via USB and Serial communication. The developed software can load complex geometries in “.svg format and it can interpret the shape in a G-code file which is loaded to the Arduinos when they are about to operate.

The contemporary dining place is not limited by specific spatial contexts, as today man no longer uses pre-planned facilities for the production and especially the consumption of food. Creates individual or common comfort conditions, with a typical example of eating the food by watching TV.

The Wire-frame proposal strives to provide a framework within which the social interactions of its users will create a dining place through individual or collective inventiveness. The goal is to synthesize a hybrid space that is capable of being re-structured through the wishes of its users during the production and consumption of food. This transformable space consists of eight scrollable frames which are also having the basic slots to feed the equipment of a mainstream “kitchen, which due to wrapping-cable system implements the movement of the construction along the space. Within the frames is placed the designed equipment which is providing easy adaptation and diversity with the aim of exploring the potential spatial qualities. Finally, the 8 frames have the option of detaching and reassembling with the aim of eventually creating seats, if so desired by the users of the space.

Un.block - Pelagues aims, as a result of the course outline, to the critical revaluation of the Athenian city block, as a singular structural city element, through both analytical and practical approaches. As a starting line, the project examines the block, of the dense Athens, as a modular volume that, through the eyes of the walker, that wonders into the city , ceases to exist above the second, maybe even the first in some cases, level. As a result, theoretically, if one chooses to expose the higher levels of a building it would make no difference. Thus as a first design principle the “demolition” of the higher levels of the city block is being chosen and a glass, exposed to the city , is emerging. The now “naked”, building, with only bearing elements to be untouched, receives housing units, that bear only the essential functions , spread throughout the city blocks, creating a pelago.

In light of the new planning of the Thessaloniki’s International Fair (T.I.F) site, it is proposed the design of a new Museum of Contemporary Art, of a Conference Center and a Hotel. The planning is a green focused area for walking while visiting the Museum or the rest of the buildings. What is more, the new site is connected by an air bridge to the adjacent 3rd Army Union’s site. MoCa is placed on the south-east bottom side of the plot in order to communicate with the other cultural buildings that are located in that area and to form a wider cultural region that attracts the citizens daily. As for the design, the museum is a parametric based structure that aims to the organic connection to the TIF’s site and to its flow-ability. It is being divided into three program-themed volumes, the exhibition, the recreational and the administrative one, and offers a new visiting experience for the Greek standards.

Allatini Urban Proposal consists of a complex of building on the coast of Thessaloniki .It is divided by one residential Zone that surrounds the Public park in the middle of the Plan that gets crossed by a big pedestrian way that leads to Thessaloniki Coast. The main Building of the previous Industrial Area is kept untouched and it is designed to host the program of a hotel on this very interesting landscape. In the entrance to the Urban Plan there has been placed a multi-functional building that facilitates the immediate needs of the residents. The horizontal line that divides the urban Plan in two sections is a boulevard that remains intact just a few meters below the Allatini level to facilitate the vehicles flow without disturbing the users of the project.

Short Term Accommodation for Refugees. This design for a first admission facility intends to produce a tailored indoor campsite within large redundant interiors – such as the now well-known Templehof hangars in Berlin. In accordance with nomadic dwelling patterns of Middle East Bedouins, the carpet constitutes the domestic territory. It regulates private and semiprivate territories allowing for small open common spaces. The dwelling unit is a pliable shell that integrates wall and ceiling. The intention is to engage the refugees in the erection of their temporary habitats. The pliable shell –wall, roof and carpet- will be made of waterproof paper provided in 1m wide strips that can be folded according to a simple pattern and assembled without specialist knowledge. DIY construction enhances a feeling of belonging. Units may be combined to facilitate nuclear, surrogate and extended families formed during the refugees’ journeys. In addition a welcome kit is provided including fold-able items: storage bags, a teat set, a ziggurat model, an illuminant ball and a low table

The soundscape is a interactive installation, equipped with sound sensors and pneumatic actuators, designed to provide the pedestrians an overwhelming experience. The panels of the pavilion tend to orientate depending to the motion of the people passing and the sounds they crate. It is programmed to follow the main sound source and then it arranges its shape to a form that concentrates and amplifies the received sound to a specific point.
