I'm Lan-Hsin,Cheng. I major in industrial design now. Endeavoring to design something which can really contribute to the world. I always try to do delicate researches before design to insure that my product is persuasive and to the point. Also, except for learning skills of industrial design field, I have reached out to field of computer science, since I think deeper knowledge can always help us to do better design.

Kitchen pot for the elderly
Kitchen pot for the elderly insure their kitchen safety. designed by Lan-Hisn,Cheng / Wayne,Lee
Pot for the elderly is designed to protect the elderly during cook process. Recently, we found that older people seldom cook since environment in kitchen is too dangerous to them. They have poor sight, weak grip etc. which make them hard to hold or to see . If they try to do so, it may cause physical damages. The reason interest us, so want to design cookware which can insure their safety.

Behaviors of the elderly
What we concern about is how to change their behaviors without interfering original ones. The possible points that we have defined to solve including weak grip and hot pot. These two always cause unsafe factors during process of holding and carrying parts. 17

Come up with ideas to solve problems mentioned.
This part we have come up with many different ideas, including shapes of handles, ergonomic handles, the material of insulation etc. Finally, we decide to use insulation outside the pot and a handle with revolving function.

New-designed kitchen pot for elderly
Kitchen pot for the elderly aims at safe and ergonomic.
Our new-designed kitchen pot for elderly set a new function that the main handle can revolve when you want to pour heavy soup out from the pot. Thus,you don't have to laboriously turn arms and pour. The turning movement might cause ergonomic hurt especially for the elderly. Also, the edge of pot set oblique angle which helps pouring.

Using kitchen pot in real
We make model to try if it's more ergonomic in real. Kitchen pot it's easier to pour heavy liquid and hold during carrying. And the insulation part can effectively protect from the heat. What we should consider more is that the weight of pot need to be lighter even though it's more ergonomic and safe.

Interactive whiteboard is designed to change the way of learning in class. By using the interactive whiteboard, learning is not just seat there quietly, instead, students learn more and deeper knowledge in an interesting way. In the past, we might think that what teacher told us beyond our imagination. However, we can now see in real by means of interactive whiteboard.

Idea sketch
We consider by parts such as space, interaction mode,mobility etc. During design process, we have considered the size of classroom, mobility of whiteboard,and how to add interactions between teachers and students by means of our technology. After evaluating the priority, we think more interactions is our first priority. So, these are some ways we came up to interact in class.

Define size of intreactive whiteboard Size of whiteboard is important in classroom.
Analyzing datas of blackboards from elementary schools, and the legal size of blackboard.Basing on these datas, we define the size of interactive whiteboard. We redefine the length, since the weight and the maintenance of the whiteboard should take into consideration, it cannot be too big.
