This is my first work in master’s program, getting into the labtorary, it also is my first industry-acdemy cooperation plan in my life that I excetly connect to factory owner, explain my design, it is extraordinary fresh experience. Most importantly, I learn to how important the teamwork is, I’m very glad to meet my partner to do this work together.

Lusun Company, which is a vehicles’ frame manufactor located in Taoyuan City, they have got cooperation with our laboratory last year to develop one electric scooter. Therefore, it is second verson they want to develop, and they want to design this 4 wheels electric car based on the frame of TOYOTA COMS, besides, transforming it to two-seater. Right side is our schedule and it has not finished yet, presently it coms to process to manufacture, we are still hardworking.

MARKET ANALYSIS

According to Global information data show that in 2007 HEV sales of about 600,000, accounting for 0.9 percent of the global automotive market, estimated 2015 sales of 4 million electric vehicles. BEV will have a chance to implement small-scale production in 2010 will, BEV mass production must wait for further lower battery cost and performance better time.

is the highest population electronic vehicles market in the world, but it also eases up.

According to the literature, in Europe, the elderly population occupies a high proportion of electric vehicles, and the proportion is rising very fast, so I locked the door elderly population, and with the high-level design objects mainly elderly people, aged about 60 to seventy.

IMAGE BOARD These people want to come home from work, you can take advantage of holiday time together and my wife to pick up on the supermarket to buy some household goods or food, which makes them have a double seat. In addition, the design of the product intended to test image, so that the elderly can have youthful vigor.

IDEATION The design originally TOYOTA COMS frame into two-seat, rear-seat center must be in the rear center of gravity, after several discussions with the factory, it changed the original frame, and according to human factors engineering, adjust the seat, sight glass, rear width, throttle and other locations.

The form follow 4 principles to design, we hope that forms can match the imapge what we search for and can catch one’s eyes.


INTERIOR IDEATION My main work toward the 3D model is about the rear interior, that I follow what we have formulated in the ideation of car modification, we used 4 principles to link inside and outside, making it more harmonious.

Car seat, I followed the racing car seat, but make it more supple, but also have link the all shape.


I made this model by Autodesk Alias, and I learned many knowledges about the skills and surface-mading, ergonomics, by which I can also used in other works about design. Absolutly, this project make me better.


PREPARE FOR MANUFACTURING In each of the communication with factory, and vendors get a lot of new knowledge and communication, in addition to other factories to find parts, but also understood that the manufacture of various standard and professional. EV skeleton also successfully produced by 3D model, we hope to prototype production to confirm.


PROTOTYPE PROTOTYPE our products to 3D printing machine printed, to narrow the ratio of 1: 5, we find out the results of our measurements of space and similar, is to allow access to the rear seat passengers, this result allows us to communicate at the time and the plant is very smoothly. Prototype produced by this contact has never dabbled in the field. This project will continue to make a real car, there are many needs of local efforts.


ELASTIC BRUSH Elastic is a hair brush that solve the problem of hairy brushes. There is a cleaning plastic sheet with Elastic, the appearance of it is like number 8. User can grab the handle to rise plastic sheet and easily clean the hair on bristles. When user release the handle, the plastic sheet will restore to its original state, and the brush is ready to be used again.

PROBLEM We often encounter the problem of hair tangle on bristles, which are too close to each other, of brush when combing our hair. Once hairs get stuck on bristles, it is hard to clean, and may leads to sanitary issue.

IDEATION Hair stuck on the bristles, and it’s hard to clean.Grab the handle to rise plastic sheet and easily clean the hair on bristles.Release the handle, the plastic sheet will restore to its original state.

squeeze out There is a perfect gap between the hole and bristles, it helps plastic sheet clean hairs. Meanwhile, the curved sheet keeps hairs from getting stuck.

curved brush Because of curved sheet, bristles will be in different length, which makes it possible to squeeze out hairs when plastic sheet is raised.


flexible material Elastic uses hard resin and spring steel as material, making the handle more flexible. Because of that, users can control the plastic sheet by grabbing and releasing the handle.

QUEUE CHAIR When we are waiting for bus, entering a concert or buying popular items, we always need to line up. It usually takes a long time to wait and makes people feel exhausted, especially the elderly and disable people.Researched target consumer and current market kitchen products, including available technology as well as soon to be available technology, in order to deďŹ ne my design direction.

PROBLEM To further inform my design solution, I explored feasible options by further identifying consumer behaviors and future trends and developed a persona. Responded to sponsor needs and designed the Next Generation modular refrigerator for the future market.

According information, most people have not patience to waiting about 17minutes. Due to peoples` psychology and physical elements, we feel tired and uncomfortable. Waiting too long is not healthful for us.


IDEATION Concerning the universal design concept, when there was no user, the chair height is 80 cm, all users can sit down easily from stand. When the users sit down.



SOLUTION Regarding this issue, we design Queue Chair. We add a flexible chair made by flexible plastic on belt barrier that can suitable for everyone. The user just need to sit vertically, then the seat will change the shape because of the material.

DETAILS Concerning the universal design concept, when there was no user, the chair height is 71 cm, all users can sit down easily from stand. When the users sit down, the seat height becomes 40 cm. It makes elderly and tired people can rest for a while. When user leaves the chair, it will returns to the original shape.

ECO HUMIDIFIER ECO humidiďŹ er can produce power by dierent temperature with indoor central heating and outdoor cold weather. In addition, it recycles the dew outside to increase moisture. It is not only user friendly but also environment friendly product.

HOW TO SAVE ENERGY We can choose a better way to save the resource. Our humidifier uses the difference temperature to produce electricity, and make the device work, so it doesn’t need to charge.

RAIN POWER This is my first time participating in Workshop that MIT Media Lab held, it is a special experience we can learn about some new way to think, and nimbly use design thinking as they do, I think this workshop make me mature in thinking. In Taiwan, public water station is not widely adapted by people, and the reasons are mainly assumed to be the failure of "social image" and "purifying system". We are planning to build up a system of city water stations for this dry year.

TOPIC : WATER RESOURCE Bottled water is more and more common in recent decades, especially in metropolitan. Plastic bottle is a main source in recycling, however, the life cycle is totally harmful to the environment, which actually costs more fuel in production than in transportation.


WATER SHORTAGE PROBLEM IN TAIWAN In Taiwan, public water station is not widely adapted by people, and the reasons are mainly assumed to be the failure of "social image" and "purifying system". We are planning to build up a system of city water stations for this dry year.

IDEATION First, we would like to enhance user experience and sense of security, from the perspective of product design, by making the process of purification transparent. Second, we would build up a business model for the system. It would cost less, and be much easy to educate people as then can see the cooperation of designers, inventors, and the government.

We create a new water dispenser which collects the rain water and transforms it into drinking water. Also, it is an interactive installation which creates a new experience between people and water.
