Lazy Chicken Biryani
Don't feel overwhelmed by the extensive list of ingredients; assembling this dish is actually quite simple.
1 medium chicken
4 medium onions fried to crispy brown
6 cloves
2 tsp Dhaniya
5 cardamoms
1 stick Cinnamon
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1 tub thick yogurt
2 tsp crushed ginger
2 tsp garlic cloves crushed
2 tbs Tomato paste
3 medium tomatoes
1 bunch Coriander
Juice of one lemon
2 fresh whole chillies (optional)
2 tbs sunflower oil
400g rice
Salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Cut the chicken into pieces.
1. Blend the tomatoes with the yogurt, coriander, lemon juice, and some salt.
2. Wash the rice and soak it in water for a few minutes.

3. Combine all the ingredients in a pot, excluding the rice, and keep some of the previously browned onions aside for garnish. Allow it to marinate for about 30 minutes to an hour.

Place the pot on low heat and let it cook for 40 minutes; the chicken will release and cook in its own juices. Then add the rice and salted water to cover the rice about 1 cm above.
Cover the pot and cook for an additional 25 minutes on low heat. Afterward, mix it up, garnish with the remaining browned onions and coriander. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before serving warm.
