HD is the easiest, fastest and most eco-friendly car care system ever created. HD Car Care is the first truly water[less] car cleaning system. With the HD Car Care system water is not wasted and no hydrocarbons are ever flushed into surface waters where they will pollute our streams, rivers, lakes, and oceans. HD Car Care products are also more concentrated than traditional products, so you use less to do more. Where possible and practical, we offer concentrates in containers that are 100% recyclable. This allows you to reuse our convenient trigger bottle and sprayer again and again, further reducing waste and cost. Zero pollution and a smaller carbon footprint are the byproduct of new thinking without compromise. Use Less. Do More. In the past, traditional car care products were designed for a single function. Wheel cleaners cleaned only wheels. Polishing compounds cut away paint defects, but did not finish with a high gloss shine. Car wash soaps remove soil from the exterior of the car, but not the interior. As a result of their single use function, traditional car care products create a lot of waste, and waste results in pollution (not to mention added expense). Every High Definition Car Care product is designed for multiple tasks. For example, our automotive cleaner works as well on tires and wheels as it does on fine leather. HD Car Care Basics The core of any car care program is washing, cleaning and protecting. HD makes washing and cleaning as easy as spray and wipe. Basic interior and exterior protection is also fast and easy. Step 1 – Wash: The HD FREE Water[less] Wash Lotion is designed to remove the light dirt that collects on the exterior and interior of your car. With this single product you can lightly clean and protect paint, glass, chrome, plastic, vinyl, and leather. Simply spray, wipe clean, and buff. Used properly, you can clean the exterior of a mid-size car with less than six ounces of product.

Use Less. Do More. Step 2 – Clean: In some cases, you will need more cleaning strength to break the bond between a soil and the car surface. For these situations, we have created HD TOTAL Degreaser & Soil Remover. With HD TOTAL you can safely deep clean your vehicle’s tires, wheels, engine, upholstery, leather, plastic, and vinyl. It can also be used to spot treat insects, grease, tar and other heavy soil on your paint. Simply spray, agitate with a soft brush, sponge or cloth, and wipe away the soil. Step 3 – Protect & Beautify: Both HD FREE and HD TOTAL contain natural wax emulsions designed to shine and lightly protect the surfaces they clean. However, most surfaces of your car require a more intensive treatment to keep them conditioned and looking their best. For the interior leather, vinyl, rubber and plastic, we created HD PROTECT Vinyl, Leather, Rubber & Plastic Conditioner. This high intensity conditioner uses cosmetic grade ingredients to pamper your car’s interior and lock-in the like new appearance. For your tires and black exterior trim, there’s HD GEL Tire & Trim Dressing, a long-lasting clear dressing that creates a dark, crisp appearance.

HD Car Care Disposable Wipes Striking a balance between using water and filling our landfills with waste is delicate. On one hand you can use washable, reusable towels that offer a couple years of optimal use. However, what ever you put into these towels must be washed out, filling the sewer system with more chemicals and soil. On the other hand you can use disposable, biodegradable wipes that save water and reduce the use of wash detergents, but increase landfill waste. HD FREE Use Instructions Do not use HD FREE on a hot surface. For best results, use HD FREE in a shaded area. If your vehicle is excessively dirty, first rinse with water. On the exterior, thoroughly mist one panel at a time and wipe clean with an HD MICROBUFF microfiber towel. Fold and turn towel frequently to keep excessive dirt away from your car. After cleaning, buff exterior to a high-gloss shine with a dry HD MICROBUFF microfiber towel. On the interior, lightly mist a clean HD MICROPOLISH microfiber towel or HD ECOWIPE disposable towel with HD FREE cleaner and wipe interior surfaces.

Use Less. Do More. and wipe clean. Do not allow HD TOTAL to dry before wiping or rinsing. On tires and wheels, clean one wheel at a time. Spray HD TOTAL generously on the face of the tire and wheel and allow the cleaner to dwell for 15 to 30 seconds. Wipe clean using an HD ECOWIPE disposable wipe. On leather, vinyl and upholstery stains, use a HD DUOPAD to scrub, then wipe clean. On carpet, mist lightly and scrub with an absorbent cloth. On engines, mist HD TOTAL lightly over the surface to be cleaned and wipe clean using an HD ECOWIPE disposable wipe. To remove insect remains, tar, grease and other heavy road grime, mist over the affected area, allow cleaner to dwell for 30 seconds, then gently wipe clean using an HD ECOWIPE disposable wipe. Follow with HD FREE. NOTE: HD TOTAL is not designed to clean large areas of painted surfaces. Use only as a spot treatment.
HD PROTECT Vinyl, Leather, Rubber & Plastic Conditioner HD PROTECT is a premium interior protectant and dressing for all leather, vinyl, plastic and interior trim surfaces. HD PROTECT Use Instructions HD PROTECT conditions and protects all interior leather, vinyl, plastic and rubber surfaces. For best protection, use 5-6 times a year. Apply in shade on a cool, clean surface, using the red side of an HD INTERIOR DUOPAD applicator. For a glossy surface, allow to dry, then buff. For a satin finish, apply and immediately buff dry using a HD MICROPOLISH microfiber towel. For matte finish, slightly dampen an HD MICROPOLISH microfiber towel with water and buff. See web site for full details. Use a clean HD INTERIOR DUOPAD sponge for proper application. The unique dual-sided sponge cleans (white face) and dresses (red face). Sandwiched between the two color foams is a high-density barrier foam that prevents excessive product use and cross contamination of cleaner and protectant. With the HD INTERIOR DUOPAD, you apply just the right amount of product every time.

The rich, thick, super gel formula make tires stand out for the ultimate High Definition look you crave. For even more gloss, add a second or third coat. The exclusive HD GEL formula never slings off your tires or makes a mess. Simply wipe HD GEL on your clean, dry tires, allow the gel to penetrate for 5 to 10 minutes, then buff to a high gloss shine.
HD GEL Use Instructions HD GEL is a high-gloss tire and trim dressing that’s formulated to make tires and trim pop with color. To apply, squeeze HD GEL onto the HD GELPAD, rub in thoroughly, and allow to penetrate for at least 10 minutes. To reduce gloss, wipe surface dry and buff. For even more gloss, apply a second light coat. When applied properly, HD GEL will not sling off your tire. Clean tire periodically with HD TOTAL.
HD METAL All-Purpose Metal Polish HD METAL is a high performance metal polish and sealant in one. As you polish to remove oxidation, stains and dullness, HD METAL shines, brightens and protects. HD METAL works on all chrome, polished aluminum, and stainless steel finishes. Plus, it can be used by hand or with your favorite polishing ball and cordless drill. Use HD METAL 4-6 times a year on all chrome or polished wheels to keep them looking new. For a super shine without the mess, apply and buff HD METAL with HD ECOWIPES, then toss the messy towel in the trash.
HD METAL Use Instructions HD METAL is an all-purpose metal polish for chrome, polished aluminum and stainless steel. Apply in shade on a cool, clean surface, using HD ECOWIPES or a cotton cloth. Apply a small dab at a time, work in well, then buff away residue. HD METAL is also safe to use with a foam, wool or cloth buffing ball on a cordless drill.

HD UNO Use Instructions By dual-action polisher, apply HD-UNO using an HD UNOPAD. Our specialized foam was designed specifically for HD UNO to cut and polish in a single step.
By hand, apply HD-UNO using the orange side of the HD EXTERIOR DUOPAD (the blue side is for waxing). With moderate pressure, HD UNO will remove surface oxidation, fine swirl marks and increase over-all gloss. HD UNO is a water-based product that can be worked for long periods without drying (high open time). It is also highly concentrated, reducing overall cost, waste and pollution. Used properly, a single bottle of HD UNO is enough product to polish 3-4 cars with moderate defects. For best results, polish a single area at a time. Apply in a shaded area on a cool surface. Work on one section at a time (door, fender, hood, etc.). HD UNO is concentrated and a little goes a long way. When applying by hand, use a dime size dab of polish at a time and rub in thoroughly. By dual-action polisher, dispense 4-5 pea size dabs of polish to the pad and work in at full speed until the polish haze is nearly gone. Wipe away remaining residue with a clean HD MICROPOLISH microfiber towel.
HD POXY Nano-Polymer Sealant Wax HD POXY is a modern nano-polymer sealant wax designed to seal and protect all hard exterior surfaces, including paint, glass, plastic, wheels and polished metal. As HD POXY coats your paint with months of protection it also darkens and beautifies for the ultimate wet-look shine. With HD POXY, blacks and dark blues have the appearance of a shimmering pool of water, reds and rich yellows come alive with more passion and fire, and metallic silver and white take on the depth and richness of darker colors. HD POXY is a highly concentrated pure wax. A single bottle of product will wax an average size car up to 12 times. It can be layered (multiple coats) to achieve more gloss and greater depth.

Apply in a shaded area on a cool surface. For best results, apply a very thin coat only. By hand, apply using the blue side of an HD EXTERIOR DUOPAD (above). By dual-action polisher, apply using an HD POXYPAD (right). Apply three or four pea size dabs of POXY to the pad and work in at low speed. Allow the wax to haze and buff away residue with a clean HD MICROBUFF microfiber towel (above). Use Sparingly: About ½ ounce of HD POXY is all that’s needed to treat a mid-size car. Maintenance: After treatment your vehicle’s paint will be nearly carefree for three full months, requiring only washing. While we have tested for visible protection for up to a full year, proper care dictates that 4 treatments a year offers the very best protection possible. To keep clean, was with HD FREE weekly.
HD POLISHER Dual-Action Car Polisher by Porter Cable The HD POLISHER system is based on the Porter Cable 7424XP Dual-Action Car Polisher, HD UNO Total Auto Polish and the HD UNOPAD Foam Polishing Pad. Together, these components make up the most adept car polishing system available. The Porter Cable 7424XP Dual-Action Car Polisher is the second generation of the most popular car polisher ever made. In addition to a new, sleek, ergonomic design, the 7424XP has more power and more speed, allowing it to remove imperfections that previously required a professional. The design and capability of this new polishing machine make it a core component of our “High Definition” car detailing solution. With a higher oscillation speed and more power, the 7424XP easily removes more paint imperfections, including swirl marks, oxidation, and fine scratches. In fact, when combined with HD UNO Total Auto Polish and the HD UNOPAD, the Porter Cable 7424XP can polish and buff any modern paint finish back to perfection without fear of causing paint damage. The polishing action of the 7424XP polisher closely mimics that of circular hand polishing. Imagine being able to make 2,500 to 6,500 tight hand circles in a single minute and you’ll have a pretty good idea of how the polisher does its job. HD POLISHER Use Instructions FEATURES & SAFETY The Porter Cable 7424XP has a powerful 4.2 Amp motor. The motor is
20% more powerful than previous models, yet the machine is balanced and not tiring to use. Handle: A reversible side handle makes the Porter Cable 7424XP very easy to hold and control, even when working on vertical surfaces. Use of the side handle is a personal preference. It adds a bit of safety, but individuals with large hands may find it just as easy to grip the machine by the head end with one hand and the rear with the other. Speed Control: The Porter Cable 7424XP functions at 2,500 to 6,500 operations per minutes (OPM), controllable by a thumbwheel on the rear end of the machine. The OPM measurement is used instead of revolutions per minute (RPM) to distinguish the difference between orbits and center shaft revolutions. At 6,500 OPM, this machine is doing a lot of work. Safety First: Warning: Failure to follow safety precautions may result in bodily harm or damage to your vehicle. 1. Wear safety glasses when operating this tool to avoid eye injury from flying debris. 2. Always switch the machine off and unplug the machine from the power source before changing accessories. Switching on the machine while changing accessories may cause an injury. 3. Never operate the Ultimate Detailing Machine unless the cleaning or polishing accessory is pressed against the surface to be cleaned, polished or buffed. This means that you both start and stop the machine while the tool it is resting flat on the surface of the car. Changing Tool Heads: Changing tool heads (e.g., backing plates and other adapters) is easy. You use the spindle wrench supplied with the machine to hold the spindle and rotate the tool head counter-clockwise to loosen or clockwise to tighten. When tightening, only turn the tool head ¼ turn once it has initially seated. Do not over-tighten.
PADS & BACKING PLATES The HD POLISHER KIT includes a 4.75”, flexible, Velcro backing plate that is perfectly balanced matched to the Porter Cable 7424XP. The kit also includes an HD UNOPAD Foam Polishing Pad, designed to work with the polisher and HD UNO Total Auto Polish and two microfiber buffing bonnets. This combination will meet 95% of all automotive paint polishing needs, without being overly aggressive. An additional foam pad, the HD POXYPAD (blue), is available for finishing (ultra fine polishing) and machine waxing.
OPERATION Before using the Porter Cable 7424XP, your car must be freshly washed. Never polish or buff on a dirty finish or your paint will be damaged (swirls and scratches). Always work in an area with good lighting. Overhead fluorescent or halogen lighting is best. Do not work in direct sunlight. Be sure to remove all rings, watches, bracelets, belts and other items that will scratch your vehicle’s paint. Consider wearing

HDCARCARE.COM an apron to protect your clothing and the paint finish. Carefully center the foam pad on backing plate to reduce vibration. To operate your Porter Cable 7424XP, follow these simple instructions: 1. Adjust the machine speed to 2 or 3 on the thumbwheel. This is a good starting point. 2. With the machine switched off, apply several dabs of HD UNO or HD POXY directly to the polishing pad. 3. Dab the pad in 3-4 spots around the area to be polished or waxed to distribute the product. 4. Position the polisher flat on the work surface, grip firmly and switch the machine on. 5. Move the polisher back and forth (east-west) in a slow, sweeping motion, overlapping each pass (by 50% of the pad width) with the previous, and then switch your pattern to up and down (north-south). In most cases, it is not necessary to apply more than a couple pounds of pad pressure. Heavy polishing may require more. 6. When a pad becomes caked with product, use HD TOTAL to clean the pad. Within a few minutes of use, most people are very comfortable operating the polisher. All it takes is a little practice.
MAINTAINING & IMPROVING PAINT GLOSS It is polishing, not waxing, that offers the most improvement in the overall appearance of automotive paint. If you wax over bad paint, it’s still bad paint. When use HD UNO polish to correct paint damage (scratches, oxidation, swirl marks, stains, water spots, etc.), you are removing a thin layer of bad paint to reveal a fresh finish. Obviously you can only do so much abrasive polishing before you wear out (thin or completely remove) the paint finish, so only polish as much as necessary to keep your car’s paint in good condition. If your paint is new or like new, it is rarely necessary to do any heavy polishing. When you need to remove damage, use the HD UNOPAD. To increase or maintain paint gloss, use HD UNO polish with the HD POXYPAD. The super-soft HD POXYPAD works with HD UNO’s micro abrasive particles to gently polish without reducing clearcoat thickness. To maintain your car’s high-gloss shine, polish it 2-3 times a year.
