SHOWING GRATITUDE.
R.Becker Creative
A good rule of thumb is to register for at least two items per guest at a variety of price points. Weddings are a celebration of starting a new life together, which means your guests will often want to give you something to help you get started as a married couple.
registries
Gifts are never expected or required, but most guests will want to help celebrate you. A gift registry lets them know items you want to receive rather than having to guess.
You also don’ t have to register for anything you don’t need, like fancy China or matching towels. Your registry should reflect you as a couple and the life you want to build together, so feel free to get creative. Many stores make it easy for couples to register. Some allow you to create a list online, and others use an app you can simply walk around the store and scan items with. The important part is for you both to have input on what gifts you register for.
think outside the box
If you already have a kitchen full of gadgets or prefer not to ask for material items, there are other less traditional options too: • Set up a honeymoon or bucket list experiences registry • Ask guests to donate to a charity in lieu of gifts • Create a house down payment or renovation registry

bridal tip
It’s up to you if you include favors at your reception, but they’re a nice way to show your appreciation for your guests. They don’t have to be extravagant or expensive, just something personal or heart-felt.

say thank you
A lot of planning goes into a wedding, and there will surely be people you want to thank for their help.
First, consider your bridal party and close family members. They’ve undoubtedly helped make your big day a success, and a small token of your appreciation is appropriate. These are often given at the rehearsal dinner or morning of the wedding.
Your guests have come to celebrate you, and some may have spent a lot of time and money to do so. Consider buying favors for the reception as a simple way to thank them for coming.
Finally, consider your soon-to-be spouse. Getting one another a small gift is a great way to memorialize this day forever. Items like a personalized watch or an embroidered pocket square are great gifts your spouse will treasure for years to come.
