ABOUT ME During four years in Industrial design department of Shi-chien university has cultivated my firm basis in product design. I’m not only familiar with the process from concept proposal, sketching, 3d modeling, and prototype making but also learn a lot about user center design. Except the regular product design courses, I spent lots of time engaging in extracurricular workshops, competitions, and internships to increase my skill. Thus, I have experience working with people in different field, leading a team to accomplish a class publication and collaborating with a major company to develop a product. These make me used to work in fast-pace environment, and enhance my ability to dealing with pressure, time management, and being a team player. CHILCOOK Cooker And Recipe for Kid Size 450*600*200 mm Metal / Wood / Plastic 2017/Jun. Kitchen education is more popular now. Instead of preventing their children from entering the kitchen, more and more parents are willing to cook with their children. It is believed that kitchen is a great place to teach their children about food, health, and taste. So I came out with an idea to make the interaction more attractive.

Interaction After observing the process of a child and his parent’s interaction during they make cookies, I found that parents play a role of guide who helps the child exploring and answers their question.
Hypothesis and Revise After making a hypothesis I made mock-ups to test. This time I highlight my hypothesis on hardware — includes a mixer, a rolling pin, and a dough-shaper. Except the way of they using, I also observed their reaction to this cooker.

CHILCOOK’s recipe just likes the story book. When parents bake with their children, parents can read the story which is reading the recipe simultaneously to guide their kids. Kids could follow the story and process step by step. Not only children can use their imagination, but parents can also rely on the story to teach kids. CHILCOOK make the interaction of children and their parents more fun and impressive.

Three major parts- story, game and cooking make up this product . To be more appealing to children, I develop a concept that combines story and recipe together. Almost all that stage of kids like story and bring their imagination into it. So I come up with this way to merge them. And if more attention the kids are paid into the whole process, the less trouble they might cause. Thus, parents are happier to spent time cooking with them.

Every detail is well designed for 4-6 years old children. For example, the basis of the mixing bowl is made of tpu to prevent overturning. And the components of cookie shaping stamp can be easily changed. The stirring stick is replaceable, depending on different uses.

THE STORY RECIPE /

The story book includes a wood stand, the book can easily attach to the stand by magnet. During cooking, parents turn over page after page by slightly picking the small bulged page on right side to tell a story and give instruction.
Story recipe The recipe is combined with a story. The theme of story varies according to different food to make. Each book is task-oriented. Parents tell the story and instruct children to finish the task in the story at the same time. This book “Where is MI-MI” tell the story about a missing cat. After kids complete all missions, they consequently make a cat-shaped cookie. And they find MIMI as well!

ROLLING PIN The rolling pin has doubled inside structures, which is made to roll easily. Children hold the handle on two sides, and use a force in single direction. The pin scroll effectively. And two larger circles remain a thicken of the dough but also increase steadily when kids are using.

Therefore, how to use the resource we have more efficiently is an important issue. In this project I come up with a concept that combined medical with IoT.

FINAL MODEL / The shape of the set is round and simplified, which reducing the cold feeling that technology gives and increasing the affinity of the product. In addition, Metal blue and pure white is used as the basic color, which makes whole product merge into modern and future style living room.

CHI COFFEE Filter Coffee Maker Size 550*180*200 mm Pine Wood / Plastic / Metal 2018/May. My impression of coffee goes with antique furniture and Chinese pastries instead of Western-style fancy rooms and cakes. I wanted to make a set of utensils that matches the atmosphere in my home. I used bowls, and teacups as references. The elements of high feet, wide rim of cup, and low center of gravity were used to simplify the creation of a modern Chinese coffee cooking set.

SKETCH & MOCK-UP / Shape of each utensils come from traditional Chinese utensils - traditional bowls, jar, cups, etc. And then, to combine each utensils, I merge abstract imagery of Chinese paintings into the outline of coffee set. Finally, I simplified the lines, which makes it look moderner.

So they sometime feel embarrassed when applying tham and refuse to use them. By reusing the personality of Under Armour, and give new defination to the assistance device. I hope to break the stereotype that use auxiliary is weak, old and shamed. They can still feel confident and powerful when getting older.

I started the design with the research of the body structure. There are three parts of the hip joint need highly protectionAcetabulum, Femoral Head and femur. Because the fracture in these parts could cause the disability to move and do normal activities. And potentially risky of bacterial infections.

After researching, I came up with an idea of inflated shorts which could immediately inflate when the elderly fall. After brainstorming sketching, I pick some of them and made the mock-up. Some shorts are really different from what today’s looks like to make it more comfortable to wear. However after testing all of them I found that the elderly like the familiar one, so I keep two pants. But revise trousers to make it more protectable.

Basis on the main protective parts, I did some simple 2D drawing to test different color segment and outline shape. Ultimately, I choose the black one with blue stream line to make it feel more recognizable and enhance the future feeling. I aim to not make it look too old. Below are the 2D rendering that visualize the result of my color and material ideas.

This inflation short consists of three different fabrics. Like the picture showcase above, number 1 is the breathable fabric which is outside all of other fabric. And number 2 is the air bag made of PVC, it is also the air storage area. Number 3 is the basic part of this shorts. The gap between air bag and polyester fabric are composed of a light blue elastic material. It also increases the flexibility and buffer when the air suddenly inflated.

The sensor combined with a CO2 cylinder and connects a air tube with air bag. There is an Action Recognition with 3D Accelerometer inside the sensor to detect the falling situation. As long as it happens, the accelerometer returns a message to the host and start inflation.

When the user lose balance for a moment, the sensor detects the change of the physical data. At the same time, the sensor automatically open the CO2 Cylinders valve and the Airbag fabric inside inflates.

Nowadays garment factories, the complexity of the tools and the narrow spaces led to visual pressure, physical injuries and limited efficiency. Therefore, Abode Sewing Desk arrange the existing thread stand to create some storage space. Add metal track around desk to match the extension worksurface, which expand the usable area. It also enhances the flexibility and freedom for workers . The modularized desk making work more comfortable and efficient.

“Everybody deserves a comfortable workspace” Who made our clothes? Fast fashion has been a trend currently. Customers can get various types of clothes within a short period in very low price. But on the other side, we seldom pay attention to who makes these clothes for us. In general, about fifty percent of garment workers work in tiny, untidy places without design. In this project, I got a chance to look deeply at the problem and come up with a new improvement for them.

According to the spatial using habit, the space is divided into three parts. The red area is the main working area. Most clothes are made and piled here. The orange area is a flexible area which are usually stacked with lots of personal items and tools. And because of the tiny space lacking of storage system, there tends to be a mess.
The Purple Zone is where most factories place extra baskets. Finished clothes mainly placed here to wait for next processing. It can be seen from the picture on the left that the clothes almost go in and out from the left side.

To complete a 1:1 dimension prototype, I started with 1:1 mock-up to confirm all size and help brainstorm some ideas. After having initial rough concept discussion with my adviser, I drew lots of sketches for per hardware including conner latch, extension surface, storage box and so on. Then I made some structure mock-ups to ensure they work, I also spent lots of time revising them. Afterward, with all the detail and shape refined, I began to execute final prototype.

Middle round shape brings comfortable feeling to the whole product, which improves the cold stereotype in current factory. In term of color, I choose the hue that is suitable for long watching.

Side shelter Detachable metal shelters combined with the table legs help separate the finished clothes. Workers can classify the finished clothes instead of piling up on the desk.
Extention worksurface
Extension worksurface which can add around the table on the metal tube increases the flexibility and work space. Depending on workers’ different use, they can decide the quantity and place to attach.
Thread stand partition Reset the original thread stand to create more space for working and storing. The partition decrease the interference from surroundings
Monitor With a microcomputer, workers are easily to understand their daily job content without conventing every morning and spent time checking frequently.
Tool storage Intrusive storage box help workers easily access and classify tools. The box can also lift up entirely and bring their own tools to another desk when they change their job daily.

Machine repariment button could inform the machanic at the moment when machine has a problem. It helps a major factory with 100 to 200 personel find and fix the problem more fast.

Each bundle (10-20 clothes) matches with one lable, workers scan the barcode through the computer to confirm the clothes are done.
When a section is finished, the system inform the content of next procedure

Supplies call When a worker need a supply they can just push the button and inform the factory to delivery. Because in a large factory, its not easy to control all the supplies. Through the microcomputer, inventory and the quantity is easy to be administered.

Scan the barcode on the company credentials to log in, and check what-to-do-list. Workspace are adjustable and make their space more flexible.

Redesigned thread stand blocks interference from the factory. And create their own space. Tools storage box helps worker sort out tools and keep the desk clean and neat.
Scan the barcode and confirm the completed clothes.
Put the finished cloth into the basket beside the desk and wait for next processing.
As soon as each bundle is scanned, the information update to internet. Every single procedure is tracked easily.
Increase the smoothness of delivering clothes and avoid piling up things on the desk.

This was my last project in the course of Design Fundamental in the first year of university so I wanted to do something to memorize the year my classmates and I went through together. So I collected the photos and turned them into slides. I also put a flashlight in front of the canvas to project these slide image to the screen. As I treadle, the slides will run from one side to another side.

At first, l wanted to make a moving device without complex components. l tried hemp rope, steel cable combined with slides only but they still aren’t firm enough.
In final model, I used the similar structure of bicycle to make it move smoothly. When stepping on the paddle, it gives the device power to move forward. And the gear simultaneously drives another vertical gear on behind axis, which starts two slide roller on the back of car to rotate. As long as the slides go through the flashlight, they are projected on the canvas. At the same time I riding this device, the slides run surrounding me. It is like that the memories go with me as I navigate.

According to the trend of human ‘s diet, more and more people eat healthy grain food. But breakfast are more uneasily to eat health, because of the work and study. We want to provide an enjoyable breakfast time, and a product that also give the whole day energy.

To delivery good taste of our product, we use the Spanish word “Delicioso”(which means very delicious). The translation also sounds good.
We emphasize“health” and “convenience”,and hope to became main brand in grain market.

Sealing packaging
Our product features in plentiful ingredients. To fit the concept, we use the key words — nutritious, rich, and active to develop our visual image. I transform the ingredients into cute hand drawing pictures, which remains an unartifical feeling. And I use white in background to keep the feeling of pure and healthy. There are two purple stream above and below the paper are the original color of the milk. People can see beautiful nature color throughly. The cookie under the transparent lid can be seen in the first sight.

We provide customer a small brochure that has a detailed process of making the Hung Kuie Cake. Despite having no experience of making Taiwanese traditional cake, they can also follow the brochure step by step, and enjoy making cakes by themselves. The parents can also make this cake with children, which can increase the good relationship with each other and children will know more about different culture. We hope that through DIY, the foreigner could experience Taiwanese culture and love it. The molds can be reused to make other pastries.
