REFLECTION A long time ago, I had heard that there are more stars in our universe than there are grains of sand on all the beaches on earth. Star can't give off light itself, it reflects light from the sun or other planets. Fresh designers seem the same as stars. They need other's help. I hope I can be a star and twinkle in the sky.

Introduction We all live on the Earth but everyone has different personality. Because the environment where we born is distinctive. I think the proof a person is living in the world is that we have personalities. I am a person who likes to try new things. I like learning and always create more ideas. I love to accept challenges and always do my best. The point is I am an extremely determined person. No matter what, I push through limitations and adversity to come true what I want. Beyond that, thinking and arts is my favorite. Meanwhile, music and movies enrich my life. You will know me more after reading this book.

Motivation School of visual arts is my dream school. I majored in industrial design in Taiwan. National Cheng Kung University is one of top ranked universities in Taiwan. But I decide to change my ideal to computer art when I get access to the field of motion graphic. The freedom of creation is very attractive to me. I applied myself to learning new software such as Adobe after Effects. It indeed offers cinematic visual effects and sophisticated motion graphics fast. After my intern (last year in my school) in JL design studio. My boss recommended me to study visual arts. I had already noted SVA when I plan to study graduate school. I finally make up my mind to apply SVA for graduate studying. I want to get formal training in SVA and experience New York City at the same time.
The most important reason that I choose SVA is not only SVA has good reputation, but also I can find internship in big animation companies in the near future. I really hope I can get admitted to study in SVA. Furthermore, its courses include not only 3D animation but also motion graphic. During my studying, I intend to access to some functional courses such as website design, game design and composing in order to expand my related skills and design ability.

Product design Mars is often described as the "Red Planet" because the iron oxide prevalent on its surface. It is symbolic o f e n e rg y. I t h i n k i t re p re s e n t s "creativity". Product design needs creativity. Creative ideas make the world progress. Honestly, I experience brainstorming over and over when I struggle to create a work or develop a concept. It is amazing and pleases me best when I complete the design work. Feasibility is the major difficulty for my ideas to come true. It always has to sacrifice something to match the reality. I will always keep open and try hard.
COROLLA for pregnant woman
Corolla is a plug-in type Washlet toilet which designed for pregnant women. Pregnant women often have troubles like bad mobility, urinary frequency, and constipation or other physiological changes. Corolla was born perfectly for solving these problems.
Because of Corolla’s special design, it can be installed on any toilet in the bathroom. Corolla increased by 5 cm in height and seat cushion tilted toward 8 degrees. These designs benefit pregnant women to reduce the kneejoint loans, in the meanwhile, to provide handrails to help pregnant women hold up. Larger flip-up seat increase the scale of the cushion, so that it helps pregnant women to sit up more comfortably. And men will not contaminate the seat when they are urinating.

My design is in accordance w i t h p r e g n a n t w o m e n ’s need. In the trial period, we conveyed about 20 pregnant women and gather up their questions as follows: 18 pregnant women are bothered by urinary frequency (micturtion) during the pregnancy. 17 pregnant women suffer constipation and they use the bathroom more than half hour in the pregnancy.

According to general toilet at low altitudes, Corolla’s special design is not only increased 5 cm in height, and the inclined seat (with a gentle 8-degree incline) features an advanced seat that allows you to personalize your seating preferences with ease. These designs benefit pregnant women to reduce the knee-joint loans, in the meanwhile, to provide handrails to help pregnant women hold up. With larger Flip-up cushion, pregnant women can sit more comfortable. Simple four kinds of functional buttons feature front and rear cleansing options that make pregnant women do not need to bend over.
Foot pad adds the concept of the tumbler in order to clever storage, so that pregnant women can take footboard off without bending over. Especially, it has been proven that convert sitting with footboard support can increase bowel movements and make defecation easier.

Foot pad adds the concept of the tumbler in order to clever storage, so that pregnant women can take footboard off without bending over. Meanwhile, men go to the toilet, it does not bother them when they pass urine.
simulate acupuncture points Foot pad cleverly equips the massage bumps that simulate acupuncture points. This design offers massage to improve gastrointestinal movements.
About the posture of feet When pregnant women sit on toilet with the support of foot pad, they can change their posture to tend squat. It was a good posture to force a bowel movement and relax the buttock muscles.

How to use corolla 1. Corolla is ready for use. 2. Pregnant women prepare to use the toilet. 3. The handrail makes her feel comfortable when sitting. 4. Feet gently step the footboard. 5. Foot massage bumps will gently provide her foot acupressure. 6. Pregnant women slightly change the sitting posture and make defecation easier. And then press the functional button of cleansing and drying. 7. The foot pad will automatically stand up for clever storage. 8. Men can use the toilet when lifting the flip. Stand-up foot pad will not hinder male’s urination.
We care pregnant women
The pursuit of considerateness can be better in every way from a clean perspective to a comfortable perspective. Corolla significantly features in reducing the pregnancy symptoms. Pregnant women can use toilet more smoothly when they have micturition and constipation. PROCESS a year of corolla
Corolla was a whole year project. We started it at September 10 in 2011 and ended it in June, 2012. It was my first project to do a design lasting for one year. Although it took very long time but I had learned a lot.

Interview-pregnant women & doctors We went to National Cheng Kung University Hospital and interviewed about 20 pregnant women. Most of respondents were in 6-10 months of pregnancy.
Concept development One of our member's sister was pregnant which we do this topic. She felt very disturbed because she had micturition and constipation, so we considered focusing this design feature in the using of pregnant women. At last, Corolla can be born and offer a lot of amazing function, cleverly disguised as a toilet seat that fits virtually any standard toilet for pregnant women.
We also went to Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and asked doctors. They were so enthusiastic about the design and offered us a lot of useful information.
Human factor experiment We brought a real toilet and used some device to do human factor experiment. By collecting the data from the experiment we could make our design more perfect and complete.

Sketch & Modeling Pregnancy experience Experiencing pregnancy was so interesting so that we went to Taiwan Design Center in Taipei and borrowed some simulation device of pregnant women for one day. We experienced that women have 6-month pregnancy loaded with simulating suit about 3 kg.
After finishing most of experiments, we started modeling. We used SolidWorks to make models and went to mold company. It was very excited when we saw our model gradually forming.

Pregnancy Experience in Taiwan Design Center We went to Taiwan Design Center in Taipei at November 19, 2012. We borrowed a 3 kg device to simulate pregnant woman. I wore the heavy belly and moved around in the barrierfree room. I also experienced how inconvenient when they use the toilet. I climbed stairs and sit in a chair, too. I felt exhausted after an hour. It was a good experience for me to know more about pregnant women. PICTURES:

Human factor experiment We brought a real toilet and used styrofoam to make some prototype and conducted human factor experiment. We recorded the data about the bent angle of knees when people use toilet, as well as different height and tilt angle of cushion. In the meanwhile, we asked our classmates to sit on them and recorded the data.
Prototype We made a lot of little toilets and used clay to made prototype. We used this method to decide the general form of corolla.

Sketches of corolla We drew some sketches to complete the details of the form of corolla and its foot pad. I drew different view of corolla to make sure its form and ready to 3D modeling.
3D modeling of corolla We used solid-works and Keyshot 3D Rendering and Animation software to deliver rich, interactive views of 3D data. At first, we created a model of the toilet in real size. Then, we made the cushion model and footboard model to complete Corolla’s features. After that, we select green to be the main color of Corolla.

Real modeling at factory We went to mold company and factory to make the real model. The material was ABS to generate RP(rapid prototyping) forming. We also stayed at factory to grind the model. It was so excited to see our model gradually become shaped. PICTURES:

EASY CHECK SYRINGS transparent plastic ball for orders.
In order to measure syringe scale precisely, we design a transparent plastic ball attached to the syringe. The transparent ball can enlarge the calibration of syringe scale. There are serial benefits for the transparent plastic ball. First, visually impaired older people no longer need to wear reading glasses to use syringes. Second, it can increase the accuracy for the volume of the medicine inside the syringe. In addition, different colors of rubber ring control the ball can move up and down, and also can be used as the distinction between different medicines.

Theory-convex lens Convex lens can make virtual image enlarge. This gadget can make the calibration clearer. For example, old people may have visually impaired. They need to prepare different glasses. Easy check syringe can solve this problem.
Diabetes
Injection of insulin is a daily route for the diabetics. Easy check syringes will make the situation more convenient. My aunt is a diabetic patient and every time she injects insulin that she cannot see the scale clearly because she has presbyopia and myopia together. So, I design easy check syringes for her.

Multimedia Multimedia is a very interesting field. I think it requires a lot of abilities. It is like the Saturn's ring. You need to connect you abilities together that can finish a work of animation or website. I learned how to use the software of 3D animation from the Internet. I think 3D is an important technology to provide high-end character animation for any type of digital products: feature film, video game cinematics, TV commercials and more. It makes us move forward. We use it to tell stories involving visual art which can connect to dynamic reality. Creativity is the design’s fuel. It is indeed very fun and charming.

INFLUENCE NCKU visual art video
Influence is one of three matters - see, change, influence. It means when we care someone or something, we may influence others to care about the same thing. For example, we care about our global environment, at the same time, also want others to care about the earth. We will affect other people because we care.
The concept of this video is from "bacterium". The feeling of care and influence are much alike to bacterium that can fast infect others. This idea strikes me. I create a caring bacterium that is covered with red hair. It will infect other red little balls and make them cover with hair, too. I used C4D to make an environment filled with force like in the ocean. When caring bacterium touches the first red ball, the little red ball will grow purple hair just like caring bacterium. And little red ball will become more and more motivated and active. Like the person who obtains others' care and ready to care others.

NCKU SHOWREEL motion graphic video
I think the feeling of care is like the soft balls. So, I made this movie to simulate the situation. We care about others and they will show compassion and caring to the world. Our cares can be spread and mixed together which becomes a large unit. Also, our logo is twelve lines of the sight. It means “Expectation of care.� Three matters of care are - see, change, influence.
I used cinema 4D to produce this video. First I created a long tube and replicated it into twelve directions. Visual effects in the video
Second part of the movie is a piece of Showreel. I collected modelings from SolidWorks files and imported them to C4D. There are two effects displace and PolyFX. I used displacer and cloth effect to make the effect of rhythm, and PolyFX is used to make them into fragments.

There are 20 models in this process of the video Because it was our graduation exhibition Showreel, we had 20 modelings in this movie. I used different parameter of the Displacer Effect and PolyFX to make them varied.
The vision of models growing from the floor represents the thing of “creation.” Eventually, breaking in the air symbolizes ‘destruction to null’. Like design, we create something and then return to null.

MONSTER POT
android apps game contest I joined an android game design contest with my brother. I was the leading graphic designer in our team. "Monster pot" was a pet raising game for smart phone. The main way to play this game is raising your monster inside the pot. There are many function buttons to raise your monster. For example, you can feed it by clicking the "food" icon. Training and battling are the most important skills to play this game. award: appuniverz silver prize

Fire monster Phoenix is the fire monster's form. It is born by a red egg. Chaos is the second form. It is a monster with six feet and four wings. Crane is the third form and it will spray flames and use fire to attack enemies.
Water monster Nine dragons is the final form of water monster. It is born by a blue egg. Becoming a shark is its second form. Third form is a snake with two wings and six feet. Water monster can spray poisonous smog to attack enemies. It also has strong health and wise brain because it has nine heads.

Graphic Moon changes its shape any time likes an emotional woman. I think Designer must has a sensitive heart. I always love to relive the story line that is behind the product or design. When I make new projects, I always spend a lot of time to think the idea inside the works. If my works can touch people’s heart, it will be a successful work. Visual art is one of my favorite subjects. To explore visual art is so important to me. It is also one of the easiest ways to communicate with people. We are in the world, so we need to make the world beautiful.

Bread is a way of measurement bread for ruler, elliptical plate, swatches.
What will happen when bread is a way of measurement? We can use bread to measure length, shape, and color. It must be very fun because the unit may be not accurate. We think it is emotional measurement. Why should this world need to be so precise? Why not bread can be used to measure our world? 80 years old card NCKU 80 anniversaries Happy birthday my school! This year is my university, National Cheng Kung University, 80 anniversaries. Our school held an exhibition and invited students to make birthday cards for NCKU. The topic is "Small Happiness In our life." I used "First kiss" to draw this card. I used illustrator to draw the kiss from Snow White. But I turned them to become 80-year- old. "80 years old, you are still beautiful." I love my school. Happy birthday!
The scene is from our viewpoint in NCKU campus. It is an old and big banyan. There are many little windmills under the tree. When wind blows, the windmills whirl. It is so beautiful so I drew windmills into the cards.

CXC means “cartoon mix cartoon�. We put two cartoon figures together but keep these characteristic feature that you can easily know which two figure are been remixed. designer: Wei Shen Wang , Horng Yow Chen
Laser cutting
CXC in idea mart
This work we first use laser cutting machine. I used professional graphic software of corelDRAW suit X6 to draw many layers with every color acrylic board. After cutting, we take every little acrylic part and take them into a key ring bond by our hands from beginning to end.
Finally, we had an idea mart to sell our CXC products which have key rings and also cartoom T-shirts and postcards. picture: CXC in idea mart.

LOGO design LOGO design is always a challenging work because it needs a keen sense to simplify complicated meaning into simple image or fonts. The same with Jupiter's horizontal bars, Logo design need orderliness. Designing a good logo is not a simple task. It required involved form the marketing team and the design agency to work together. And it requires a clear idea about the concept and values of the brand as well as understanding of the consumer or target group as marketers call. I believe Logo design is an important area of graphic design, but one of the most difficult to perfect.

These are a series logo design for a brand that sales Taiwan’s local fruits. I use Taiwan local deer named antlers and local subtropical fruits to create a catching slogan “dear Taiwan, deer fruit.”

Love stand-by is a logo design for a public interest group. They provide noodles, coffee or food for vagrant. So I design a love having feet and different waiting posture.

SKYLINE airline logo design
I use the concept "Rising on the horizon" to design this airline logo. The middle orange gradient represents the sunrise. The word skyline is divided into upper and lower halves. The lower part is the shadow of skyline.

I have learned C++ a little in my university. Fortunately, my twin brother majors in programming language. So I have a good teacher to teach me and provide my awkward problems with quick solutions.

My fashion room website design My fashion room is an interactive website design. We wanted to create a magic virtual butler. We hoped this website can help you to manage your clothes and closet. It also can supply you about the latest fashion news and today’s weather information. And you are able to upload the picture of your clothes to the closet icon. The smart idea is that it will recommend the smart clothing collocations for you. Another design such as the television icon, it will offer you some advertisements or movies, and the window icon receives the latest weather forecast.

Fine art Line-drawing skill is the basis of design and it is the fastest way to record and present my sparking ideas. I like drawing a sketch when I was a little boy. Sketch might record or develop an idea for later use. It usually helps me to catch my muse. So I choose Neptune for it. I like to draw down my concept when I came up with ideas suddenly.

Internship I went to two companies and became an intern in 2012 and 2013. JL design amd Grass Jelly are two famouse animation company in Taiwan. I learned a lot in these two companies and determined to study motion graphic for graduate education. Visual art is indeed one of my favorite fields. To explore visual art is so important to me. It is also one of the easiest ways to communicate with people. We have responsibility to make the world more beautiful, don’t we?

Intel Ultrabook short ďŹ lm The first intern project in JL design
Intel launched the Ultrabook, a super thin and sleek notebook that boosted superb performances in responsiveness, connectivity, data protection and battery life. Leehom Wang, a multi-talented artist, was the perfect spokesperson to showcase the all-around performances of the Ultrabook. I joined this project in the last stage with senior designers to perfect the work with C4D skills. I worked out the ball effect in 40-43sec.

Story is sodagreen's new music video. The concept came from chinese story "Utopia" , it is a place filled with peach blossom and means "dream". The butterfly is the key of the music video, it leads the figure to the Utopia. My job in this video is modeling and 3D scanning for the figures of sodagreen's members. Because I majored in industrial, I didnt receive formal learning for computer art. I want to learn from school. And I also want to chose some 3D modeling and visual art courses. In summer or winter vacation, I will try to intern in some motion graphic company. S e c o n d y e a r, a f t e r I g e t b a s i c capability I will chose some advanced courses and prepare for my thesis. I also want to make some project to join Siggraph. And I think I can go to museums in New York to find inspiration. After study, I hope to work in New York for 2 years at least. After I have experience and be well in my career. I will create a studio with my brother.
